- We are back on the turbo civic boys. Some serious progress has been made in todays video & there will be even more soon. I can't believe how tight these engine bay's are. There is no possible way we aren't going to melt at least 1 thing in this bay.....so we are taking all of the "budget friendly" preventative measures we can to mitigate that risk. I want this car back on the road ASAP!!

This channel has been such a huge help for me planning out my turbo build for my 2010 FG2, I plan to have the entire thing done in 3-5 days. I bought the turbo kit with the normal exhaust manifold, since that's the kit they use in the display photos (which they should have mentioned, it also comes with threads), the also didn't mention that the kit is oriented around the sedan's SLIGHTLY altered frame and AC condenser (which I specifically asked them if they had an intercooler top mounting rail made for the FG2's condenser since the bolts are on the side and not the front). I'm not using the BOV/WG since they're pretty much just knock offs, along with maybe the filter sandwich for the oil lines. I imagine out of all of this I'll only have to grind away a little bit of the frames extra metal by where the charge pipe wraps around with the BOV. Ty for making a video on this!!! I'm so excited

My vote is a full race exhaust, they are really nice and very quiet.
I also vote for a full race exhaust, but my wallet votes stock exhaust with a electronic cutout 🥹

I don'r remember if I told you already but you're gonna want a good turbo feed line. The eBay one I got was a piece of crap, and I've seen other people running it grenade their turbo from improper oiling. To go with that, be sure your oil restrictor is the proper size for the journal bearing jammy you got there. Pumped to see some rips in this car as I plan on turboing mine when it's my fun car, not my daily lol
p.s. If you have a composite wastegate gasket it is going to fail. Run stainless steel gasket only on the gate
Yeah, i'm really only using the turbokit for everything but the WG, BOV, and lines. Mayyybbeeee the Oil filter sandwich? If not Mishimoto makes a real nice one
We are running everything the kit comes with to show you guys what fails & what works. That is the whole point of this budget build :)

I switched to the sandwich feed, also a stainless wastegate gasket as the composite ones always fail. Otherwise my whole b series turbo is eBay(picked separately) besides cast steel turbo manifold a couple AN fittings, and the turbo feed@@marxcorporations1685

I have the same turbo setup on my 07 FG2 with a full race exhaust. it will require a little modification but it is perfect for a daily. the car with quite enough to drive through neighborhoods. the turbo quiets it down compared to NA. But the thing sounds like a beast when the open dump waste gate opens up. That is pretty loud. I would highly recommend that setup... btw i also have a stock fg2 exhaust chilling in my attic if you still wanna buy one lol.
I want a full race…. but this is a budget build after all so I think that’s a lil too pricy for what we are going for here 😅

@@DanielKellert nice! i've been having a hard time finding a blanket that fits my turbo (it's a massive one on a boat engine). do you think wrapping my turbo with this heat wrap would do the same thing as a blanket? Yes, I realize it's way harder than installing a simple blanket...
The way you cut the frames is super annoying !
