I'm not Korean, I'm not british, I just happen to love both cultures and your channel. This episode really touches me as respecting your parents and giving back is something very important in my culture and dear to my heart. I love my parents. They have sacrificed so much and I sometimes get so frustrated that our current lifestyles with busy schedules, work stress and economic inflation make it hard for us to have (and offer to our parents) the same relaxed, happy abundance (by no means riches, but nothing lacking) in life we once had. Anyway... Alhamdulilah. I thank God for what we have and for keeping the two most precious people in the world in good health. May they have long, happy lives.

So... now we need an Ollie's mom, and Josh' dad series as well. Just saying. I said that as a joke... but having seen the entire video, I will say: Ollie's mom seems so darn delightful. Unless she really very much prefers her privacy I don't think people would mind seeing her more often. Obviously not saying you should force her or anything, just that I think she'd be absolutely loved by the community. Josh's dad as well, but he seemed a bit more like the cool, silent type in a way? Also incredibly funny though.
Love to see the parents this together as a couple, like Jenny and Rev Chris. Or even all four going together as a group. The fun is not only watching their reaction to Korea but all so how they interact with each other. Are also kind and respectful to each other, not to mention they are all incredibly funny.
Ollie's dad defusing the emotionally touching and cutesy moment with "we can buy some spam" in a lovely acknowledgement yet silly fun is so classic and made my day xx we asians love our parents and ancestors so much

First time seeing Ollie's mom and all I could think about is "Aww how sweet" and all those cheese videos of Ollie saying "Please don't tell mum I got you this cheese"
I just love how Ollie's Mom likes how koreans give cash as gifts to their parents but at the end she swiftly slide back the cash to them hahahaha very sweet parents for both Ollie and Josh.
This is so typical English/Aussie culture. My family would do the same. Or completely freak out straight away and argue about giving it back for the next half hour 😂
It's also a very Asian thing to reject the money and then you end up in a situation where both sides are pushing the money back and forth to each other for a bit until one of them gives up.
@@disorientedfear haha yup! I feel like there's more similarities between Western and Asian culture than people realise. Especially westerners pre 60's. Of course there's huge differences too!
She is, isn't she. I was thinking how I'd love to hang with Ollie's parents. Chill, chat and devour a cheese platter or a wonderful charcuterie board accompanied with delicious wine! We'd have a great time 😊
This is the most wholesome episode ever. I can clearly see why Josh and Ollie are such great people. They were raised by even greater ones. P.S.I love those baby pictures. Aww.
More than laughters and jokes, this video is special as you can find kindness, respect toward parents and love toward children celebrated here. Wherever you are from, I think we all can appreciate these values. Thank you Korean Englishman for a lovely video. Josh and Ollie should be thankful for having great parents, and their parents should appreciate having kids who love and respect them. Happy Chuseok everyone!
Gosh. What a lovely and touching episode this is! Neither Josh nor Ollie is Korean but you can see how much the Korean culture have been incorporated in their lives. It shows how much we can learn from each other’s cultures.
I absolutely loved this episode. It really allowed us to see why Josh and Ollie have the personalities that they do - real spitting images of their folks. I'm sure they would never in a million years had thought they would have raised such fine men that have such a positive, global influence. Really doing your parents the greatest service you could do in making them feel proud. Cheers gents!

Maureen is so sassy today. Josh’s dad is so honest and such a tease! Ollie’s mom is so expressive and adorable. And Henry is unexpectedly refreshing with his spam preference 😂
It's mostly an Asian tradition, where we give gifts and money to our parents and relatives. I like that Josh and Ollie did it for their parents. What a good way to celebrate a holiday.
sometimes this tradition has gone too far because we just have way too many elder people to give money to 😃 and it will be a shame if somebody is missed.
I'm so glad comments can be translated now. Yes, the money gift is strange in western culture. It is a very different mindset. Thanks for the explanation Josh.
I already saw Josh's parents and Ollie's dad. But this is only the second time to see Ollie"s mom. As an Asian, giving thanks to our parents is a big thing. Just having us and taking good care of us is something I am always thankful for. Especially as a parent myself. I know firsthand how hard it has been for them
I agree with you. It is a big culture for asian societies, however, it has been partly changed by some reason recently. Hope people can maintain the kind of beautiful culture forever.
It makes me feel warm that Josh always finds something not only modern and popular but also classic and traditional, some value easy to miss like Korean hyo(gratitude to parents). It's cool. Btw Chuseok means autumn evening. It's sino Korean. In pure Korean we call it Hangawi. What can we do in the Chuseok evening? Yes, we can see the largest full moon of the year!
Aw both Josh and Ollie have such soft spoken, gentle and kind parents. I guess we can see where they inherit their “niceness” from. Ah man, what a lovely episode. :’)
Man, what a beautiful episode. I didn't expect Ollie's father to be so keen on spam, but for some reason that just replenished my batteries for the day.
I'm not even surprised how much i adored both your parents. Of course, they would have to be wonderful to have raised both such awesome young men. Loved this episode.

@@vanessafernandez4427 puleez. do watch your mouth. maybe your parents. not mine nor the ones around me. Folks, Koreans in general give to their parents because as the video presented, we appreciate the unrelenting lifelong support we receive from the day we are born. Most Koreans have parents who would sell their homes in order to educate their children so that they might have the chance at a better life than their own. In Korean culture, the self sacrifice is cultural because of our difficult history. Parents feel a great responsibility in bringing a child into this world of hardship. Especially those who have had to suffer feel a certain amount of guilt when having a child and will do all during their lifetime to fill in the void this guilt creates. Good people in general want to do more for their own. It's a very loving, caring, reciprocating and cross-cultural relationship. My parents are very sensitive to my economic situation. They refuse to take and I insist on giving. Only a rotten relationship would force another to give money to the other. This has nothing to do with core Korean values or any other culture for that matter. To the youtuber, thank you for a heartwarming and lovely episode.

Pleaseee!!!! I want this too! It would be great yet hilarious yet sweet 🥰
I can see Josh takes after his mum and Jordan takes after dad ;) they're cool in different ways.
Love to see the parents this together as a couple, like Jenny and Rev Chris. Or even all four going together as a group. The fun is not only watching their reaction to Korea but all so how they interact with each other. Are also kind and respectful to each other, not to mention they are all incredibly funny.
Love how Ollie's dad has embraced their humor so much that he just goes with it. Hope he brought some fancy spam hahaha
Ollie's dad defusing the emotionally touching and cutesy moment with "we can buy some spam" in a lovely acknowledgement yet silly fun is so classic and made my day xx
