Every time I leave Disneyland Park, I take a moment to pause, blow a kiss at the second-story window above the Fire Station, and say, "Thanks, Walt!" Thanks for pointing out that apartment.
Hiya DFB Team; As a lifelong CA resident, my fave Disney moment is being on DLR at night, going through New Orleans Square Tunnel and emerging into a lit NO Square with the band going full-throttle @ Tiana's with the smell of beignets in the air .. .. And, my new WDW moment is sitting in World Celebration @ EPCOT and watching grown adults wipe away a tear after posing with Uncle Walt's wonderful statue .. ..
We love the train & will ride it around the park for 3,4,5 trips. Multiple times, day & night. We go in the "off" season, so there's no mandatory disembark. We've even been known to changed visit dates because it's under referb. (Ex SoCals now in AZ)
Always love DFB Disneyland content as a Disneyland CM. Also, another thing you can do for free is see the characters from Goofy's Kitchen in the lobby of the Disneyland Hotel from 3-4 pm every single day.
Need to re-enforce - Disneyland Pirates >> Disneyworld Pirates. I also think DL Galaxy's Edge > DW Galaxy's Edge. DL did a better job of isolating Galaxy's Edge.
Hi! All awesome advice - Disneyland is our home park. The only thing I would change is rope dropping radiator. That ride is down a lot at 8am and everyone goes there so most rope droppers still get stuck in long lineeswhen almost everything else is a walk on. We do single rider in the late morning before noon and that’s super fast for Radiator. You are definitely Disneyland experts - love your advice!❤
I've been to Disneyland several times, Fireworks also depend on weather. If the wind is up a bit they don't do it because the neighbors complain of the smoke. I agree Mr. Toad is always a must ride, and standing in front of Small World to watch the clock is always a favorite.
I’ve been to Disney World five times in the last two years and every time I’ve used the package to delivery delivery service to have my packages sent from the parks to my Disney hotel I have connections so that’s why I can use it. It’s been a lifesaver. 😃😊
The only issue with rope dropping Radiator Springs Racers is the on site hotel people always go there first. Every time i've been, I just do lightning lane at rope drop and i'm on the ride in like 10 mins.
Radiator Springs Racers almost always has a single rider line. My kids and I use this on the regular and while we do get separated we often find ourselves racing against each other, which is just as much fun.🎉
@@dfbbreea Hmmm...perhaps I'm biased but maybe the fact that the food is so much better at Disneyland QSF than at MK QSF? Other than that and the fact that Pirates is better :), it's perfect
Casey Jr. Circus Train and Storybook Land Canal Boats aren’t unique rides only found at Disneyland they can also in found in Disneyland Paris. Please give dlp the love it deserves 😅
I'm part of category 3. I've only been to Disneyland once, but i preferred Disney World. Doesn't change the fact that I'd like to know what to do if I do decide to do back to DL
Finally went for the first time in July. Loved the park and had a good time. But the issue between the staff and Disney was pretty clear, staff seemed unhappy and it was reflected in interaction with guests.
I can’t believe a Tigger Tail didn’t make the list. And no, they do not have them in Florida. I spoke to one of the bakers in the Magic Kingdom and explained what they were and showed pictures and he’d never heard of them. A delicious treat in DL.
question for anyone, going sometime in October for the first time. 2 adults. 1 day. Do we need to do both parks or can we just do Disneyland/magic kingdom ?
I would stick to just Disneyland. Park hopping for only a one day visit is stretching things a bit too tightly. There's more to do at Disneyland than can be done in one day, so prioritize accordingly and get familiar with the app.
I'll have to try the Plaza Inn fried chicken again, because when I tried it, it was tough, dry and overly salty. I couldn't finish it. Honestly, the whole meal wasn't very good in my experience. Hopefully it was a one off issue.
Cool vid, AJ. Keep in mind that you could also view the nightly spectacular, or castle show, as you call it, from the Rivers of America (same spot as Fantasmic), or in Fremont of Small World in Fantasyland. You can see the fireworks , and or Projections, from these areas as well. Many people hang out at the Rivers of America to see the 9:00 pm Fantasmic, followed by the 9:30 fireworks show…then rush, and I mean rush to DCA to watch the 10:15 showing of WOC (World of Color). On most nights, DCA closes at 10:00pm, so you have to be through those turnstiles before 10. Once you are in, you could watch the 10:15 WOC. However, all the attractions will be closed by then. The shops on Buena Vista street (the main entrance to DCA) will stay open until 11:00pm.
Did it always cost money to do the single rider lane for Radiator Springs? We didn’t get to ride it last time and we were hoping to skip the one and do the single rider, but we didn’t realize you had to pay for it. Now we aren’t sure if we will get ride it as we don’t want to rope drop it or wait in such a long line to avoid paying for the single rider lane.
That was confusing. Single pass is referring to the lightening lane though. Single rider is still part of regular park admission so there won't be any extra cost to use the single rider line at Radiator Springs racers. And one you might not know about - Buddy pass on Monsters Inc. It's basically single rider for two people instead of just one. Ask the cast member at the exit of the ride if they're offering Buddy passes, and if so you'll be directed to enter through the exit. The line is usually pretty short, too.
I am taking my family to Disneyland for the very first time in Sept, we have 4 days park passes, genie + , early entry cause we are staying on property and oogie boogie bash tickets!! I am still confused as to the genie + and Lightning Lane multipass. I thought they were the same? totally at a loss on how to plan out the days, right now..... just winging it.
Another secret nod to Walt, though it wasn’t completed in his lifetime, is the Dream Sweet in New Orleans Square (above Pirates of the Caribbean). Guests can actually stay here for an exorbitant amount of money and I dream in my lifetime to just spend one night there…
Was Indiana Jones not appearing in the unique attractions list an oversight? The Dinosaur ride may have the same bones, but the experience is vastly different, much more so than the two Pirates of the Caribbean versions.
It’s definitely different from Dinosaur, at the moment! 🦖🦕 There’s a very similar Indiana Jones ride that’s also over in Tokyo DisneySea. And though it’s a different plot/name, it’s a very similar ride-through experience overall.
Srry just got back from Disneyland and they said they no longer do the package delivery. Unless they brought it back in the last 2 weeks they no longer do this
The corn dog was so disappointing to me... I'd just kinda always skipped it in my past trips, but the last time I went I had gotten hyped up by DFB and I was SUPER disappointed... there was way too much batter, it wasn't really seasoned, and the sausage inside was very bland, too. This was with me adding mustard, too. idk if I'm spoiled, but the ones at the Texas State Fair are miiiiiles better. Maybe if the corn dogs you have near you are actually horrible then the Disney ones are a big step up... but yeah they were a massively huge disappointment for me and I will never be wasting my money on them again.
Sad news. Corn dog at little red wagon was not good last time. Aug 19. First time in 25 years I had a bad corn dog. I took it back twice and asked for a fresh one and they could not deliver. 3rd dog as bad as the first so she refunded my money and I ate a few bites and threw it away. My husband said they obviously froze them and reheated because they were rubbery. Castle at DCA was still good though.
I’m visiting this park next year in August and I can’t wait. It’s going to be my first visit to America too. It’s been one of my dreams to visit one day, but I don’t do well with fireworks, so that’s going to be an issue, but hopefully I will manage. 🤞
Aw that’s so awesome! You can always choose to get on some last minute rides if you wanna skip the fireworks. Usually ride lines are shorter during show time!
Re Downtown Disney - Din Tai Fung is consistently good food. However the new Mexican restaurants, specifically Centrico, was a complete disappointment. I had high hopes for Chef Gaytan's food, but my order was less than satisfactory, the service was also less than satisfactory and the prices exorbitant. I am a local and enjoy Downtown Disney as often as possible. My advice to anyone visiting is to go straight to Din Tai Fung and skip the overhyped Mexican offerings.
Awesome tips, I only beg to differ on the SBC walk thru telling the "whole story" since this new version doesn't include the dance with the owl and bunnies like the old version did.
Man, Going to disneyland in Anaheim was the biggest waste of my money I've ever done. They sell more tickets then they should per day. Service in the restaurants suck, wait time for the rides are too long, and they break down too often. No matter where you live, there are better amusement parks closer. Not to mention everything is over priced. I've warned you, now it's your fault if you go.
If you've never been to Disneyland I can say the one thing i learned is you stand for EVERYTHING. Seating is non-existent for shows unless you luck into some sort of desert party or something. It was a one and done for me.
Ha ha ha ha! I’m gonna be real with ya, I’m pretty picky about my fried chicken. So the fact that AJ and I can agree on this point really MUST mean this stuff is amazing 🤣 (Bbbbbuuuuuuuutttt you can also eat something else entirely, too! ❌🐔)
But it says non negotiable right there! 😜 (I seriously hate fried chicken with ever fiber of my being but I will probably figure out something else. 😂)
Thanks for this! Sometimes it seems like Disneyland hardly ever gets talked about here on the blog, so it's nice to see it get a little attention!
