    • @aldredske6197
      @aldredske6197 3 года назад +1

      @@InTheWoodyard Yes you are right. That big wood is hard to make fast production. That's why he gets it so cheap. Nobody wants to wrestle those big rounds around.
      Big hard splitting stuff like that I rip directly into 4 × 4 and 6× 6 blocks stove ready. I usually just take my 660 Stihl Clone with a 20 inch bar and make short work of the whole block. My back can't handle working even halves and quarters of blocks that size. By ripping them completely all I have to do is roll them into the open. Might loose a couple of blocks from the saw curf. But it is really nice firewood and the pieces work great for stacking up the ends of the cords.

    Nice video, Chris. That tractor certainly is a huge help in the wood yard. As helpful as it is, however, that splitter is certainly the limiting factor in production( single wedge/ cycle time, but very powerful). After utilizing your Eastonmade ultra, having to use that one every day would frustrate the begeebers out of you, I think.

    He needs an Eastonmade Axis log splitter, lifts the big chunks by itself and don’t have to try to stand it up. Would be a lot easier on the back especially when going through the amount of big wood he has. A grapple on the tractor would also keep from dragging the wood all over the place. Enjoy watching other wood yard videos. Keep safe my friend.
