Thanks Al, no if I had one I would want to cut that big stuff to and I am not set up for it equipment wise. Plus I think that big stuff is not fast to produce. Have a god one!!
@@InTheWoodyard Yes you are right. That big wood is hard to make fast production. That's why he gets it so cheap. Nobody wants to wrestle those big rounds around. Big hard splitting stuff like that I rip directly into 4 × 4 and 6× 6 blocks stove ready. I usually just take my 660 Stihl Clone with a 20 inch bar and make short work of the whole block. My back can't handle working even halves and quarters of blocks that size. By ripping them completely all I have to do is roll them into the open. Might loose a couple of blocks from the saw curf. But it is really nice firewood and the pieces work great for stacking up the ends of the cords.
I go back and watch #232 at times when there is not much new on , I really like how Kenny gets wood that no one else wants to mess with being that it’s so big and has taken regular equipment and tweeted it to be more manageable and efficient and has found his edge or niche in his market and I quest if it makes $ or saves him money on his on energy source it makes sense . You need to to get a grapple attachment for tractor. you also need a cut up trestle table to cut logs up trestle to be made of approximately 12" plates with space for chain saw to pass through logs every 16" to 18" and rolled onto a conveyor to move rounds to line up with splitter input or hydraulic lifter pusher to lift to splitter for splitting.

Ya, them big saws are a hoot in big wood, and as long as you don't have to carry them around much. I took down about a 30 incher with my 2166 Johnny yesterday and I'm thinking I might have to be way more careful than already being way more careful using a saw that strong on a bore cut and release because she was chattering a little in the frozen wood and thinking about kicking back a time or two.
Maybe if you cut those big logs right at the wood pile after you take them down and scoot the rounds across the gravel yard it might eliminate your cutting into the stones.
Unlimited Power! Lol. Awesome. Saw the end of the first tank... how many tanks did you go through? Seems like you get about a tank per cord with your saw and the smaller truckload logs back at your woodyard... Do you guess its about the same here, even with the thirsty girl?... depending on how much ripping you do? Each one of those logs must be dang near 2/3 or a full cord?
Ya she is a thirty girl for sure, I think maybe more than a full cord per tank with it on the big stuff anyway. Ya, those logs are a lot of wood! Greg, tomorrow we go logging!
Great movie! Nice fire and your brother is fast on that tractor! At the pace your brother goes, maybe he has to upgrade that tractor soon and will sell it to you, ha!
Wow! Chris some big splits your brother generates, does he have Little Joe or Horse stack them. I’m guessing they are for a furnace or big fireplace a little to beefy for casual burners.
@@InTheWoodyard I still sell real estate full time and I used to run 6.5 miles a day. As I got older my knees started aching so I reduced the mileage and eventually transitioned into riding a bike. I have always been a firebug so I started scarfing up a few roadside logs and splitting them. Now I'm hooked on the hole thing. I cut down trees, buck 'rm up, and split em. It's a great workout! It seems like the minute I pick up a piece of wood, i start working up a sweat!
@@sammorreale6105 Same here Sam! I used to run 5-7 every day and at about 50 my knees said....cut that out! So now I do wood and make a few bucks exercising!
seeing you rip the pieces is very insightful as to the power of 395. we see you ripping pieces all the time, that machine is like 2x faster than what you use. seemed faster & rounds were as big or bigger than what you are ripping. anyways, wondering what you think about saw? is it something you are going to get, would like to get or really dont need?
Listen closely, GET A BIG SAW!!!! You will love it and cut more wood faster and with less effort!!!! To me and my brother good saws start at 70ccs and up! There is no comparison to the small 50cc saws and under!
Way heavier, way more powerful, way more scary to run, way more fun to run, way more loud to run, way more thirsty to run, way more tiring to run..... I think that covers it!
Better than anything on TV. That's for sure

I took down about a 30 incher with my 2166 Johnny yesterday and I'm thinking I might have to be way more careful than already being way more careful using a saw that strong on a bore cut and release because she was chattering a little in the frozen wood and thinking about kicking back a time or two.
Yes the big saws are no joke for sure! Be careful! Thanks for watching Digby!
Your brother's tractor saves him a bunch of time... are you any closer to pulling the trigger on one? Keep up the great work and stay safe!
Yes he would be lost with out it! I am working on getting one myself!
Maybe if you cut those big logs right at the wood pile after you take them down and scoot the rounds across the gravel yard it might eliminate your cutting into the stones.
Yup, maybe so!
Ken needs a grapple. . He is under powered for the big logs he works with. Also needs a12 22 eastonmade
Send him one and he will put it to good use!
What does he charge for boiler wood n how long are how pieces?
I think his face cords (1/3 of a cord) are $75-90 depending on pickup or delivery and the length is 16"
@@InTheWoodyard makes charge less for bigger pieces.
Ya, he it a wild man for sure!
I do have measurig stick with a strong magnet.
Marking goes easyer
That adds an extra step but does work well.
Wow! Chris some big splits your brother generates, does he have Little Joe or Horse stack them. I’m guessing they are for a furnace or big fireplace a little to beefy for casual burners.
You have a good eye John, his customers all heat with wood so they want mostly bigger chunks! Thanks for watching!
Old style time with that fire, no Miller lol
Yup, mostly bush lights! AKA.... Northwoods angel pee!
At one point my dad had a saw just like the one in this video
What year do you think it was made?
@@InTheWoodyard Probably mid to late 90s I think?it was just like the one in the video
I am a year older than Leroy! I still split everything with a Fiskars. Mama Mia!
Sam!!!! You must be an animal to do all your wood by hand! Way to go!!!
G’morning guys. Excellent content ! Keep up the good work
Thank you Corey! Will do! Thanks for watching!
wow do yous work out side in a blizzard
Yes, it is just some wind and snow ...no biggie.
seeing you rip the pieces is very insightful as to the power of 395. we see you ripping pieces all the time, that machine is like 2x faster than what you use. seemed faster & rounds were as big or bigger than what you are ripping. anyways, wondering what you think about saw? is it something you are going to get, would like to get or really dont need?
Yes, it has unbelievable power! I would like one!!! Yes! But not right away. I don't really NEED it I just WANT one!! Thanks Charles!!
Get pallet forks with your tractor. It will change your life.
Yes, he has a set they where used on another video we did. Thanks Bryan!
@@InTheWoodyard Would you be willing to contact me outside of the public viewing?
Gosh would I love a high powered Stihl or Husqvarna, but my wallet says I can only afford Echo. I'm not complaining about Echo, they're great saws.
Listen closely, GET A BIG SAW!!!! You will love it and cut more wood faster and with less effort!!!! To me and my brother good saws start at 70ccs and up! There is no comparison to the small 50cc saws and under!
How does that 395 compare to your 572 /576 ? You seemed to enjoy running it!
Way heavier, way more powerful, way more scary to run, way more fun to run, way more loud to run, way more thirsty to run, way more tiring to run..... I think that covers it!
