Former SOCF warden Art Tate looks back at the Lucasville prison riot 30 years after they began.
The 11-day siege left nine inmates and Corrections Officer Bob Vallandingham dead.
For years, Vallandingham's widow blamed Tate for her husband's death, but she eventually told him she was wrong, which he said was like a 50-pound weight being lifted off his shoulders.

One of the greatest guys I ever met. He was my warden at Indian River Juvenile Correction. He was a difference maker who cared about making a change. That’s my guy long live King Arthur

Heard there was no better man to serve as Warden when it comes to taking care of and being involved with his staff. The ODRC SURE has changed.
