- This could be the only move you need to hit your driver straight every time. Harry Shaw covers a fundamental move which isn’t spoken about enough in the downswing using the driver, being EARLY EXTENSION, this causes the club to get stuck and a two way miss to occur. We’ll cover why this is so important and a great three step move for straight drives in your golf game.

Well done Harry on this downward waist movement rather than the butt coming in! When I last played, it seemed that when I was making the push back move with my fairway woods and hybrids, I was getting off plane and hitting ground and then ball. Finally got it corrected, but by then, I ran out of holes.
Thanks John, hitting the ground first is probably because you end up getting to the top, pushing the hips back and then bringing the club out and steep. So as long as you do this move and shallow the club as you do the hips back… it’ll work!!
@@harryshawgolf I don't think I was utilizing the inclined circle properly. As you say, I was bringing the club down too steep. When I went back to the 45* angle, I was hitting the ball a lot better. Thanks Harry!!
Brilliant John, pleased this has worked great for you, thanks for commenting, always much appreciated!
Brilliant, I feel this move twice in every seven swing, now I know I need it in every swing😮
Thank you, yes every swing will make a huge difference, it’ll take some time to get used to but if you stick to it. The difference will be huge!
Excellent tip! Arms have to get moving first in the downswing to get in front of the body.
Thank you, have you managed to give this a try yet?
thank u so much! i was a slicer before, and couldnt for the life of me draw the ball..now i cant for the life of me stop hocking everything.. some1 told me to pull the club backwards in a straight line And my irons started to get more straight, but still alot of hooks..like lottery..And the driver and wood has become absolute impossible..club comes down closed and i hit a low short ultra hook..i was about 2 quit seriously..but i watched your video about "stop hooking drivers". And what the dude forgot to tell me, but you Sir did, was that After u have pulled the club backwards in a straight line, and cant go any longer, than raise the club straigh UP..i didnt do that before and everything that happend behind my back just felt wrong and results was shait..Now i went outside and grabbed a 7 and it felt so good and consistant 2 pull it straight up, it felt like a real swing and i will try it tomorrow!..i tried driver to, didnt feel as good, but i know now its the thing to do, so i will try that to!🙏
Hi thank you for telling me this, it’s great to read the specific tip during the backswing of swinging up has helped you! Good about trying this with an iron to ease your way into the driver swing. Driver will take more time, Practice perseverance to get used to, keep me posted!
Awesome sauce! Well explained! I luv it!
Thank you! Have you managed to give this a try yet?
@@harryshawgolf I did but only at a warm up pre round. Need to go to the range but doing it indoors without a club
Good to hear you've tried it using a practice round, think that makes it much easier first before heading to the course as its not an easy move to get used to, but so worth it!
Fantastic detailed explanation of the downswing transition. I’m guilty of trying to lower my chest, but that didn’t work. Will give this a try!
Thank you, pleased you’ve found this useful for your own game, have you managed to give this a try at the driving range yet?
The left hip back looks a bit more subtle in your full swing and a bit more exaggerated in the explanation, but I'll give it a try
Yes during the explanation think of the exaggeration to make sure my spine angle stays low. In the actual swing to get to where we want to be (spine angle maintained on the 45 degree angle) we have to exaggerate the feel the opposite way (much lower than necessary.
