The 'pep talk' can only carry you so far. In MN here, we've heard this season 1. We're now in season 8 and the talk no longer carries the same weight. It's not working. Because they aren't winning like they are supposed to win.
Coaches like him are usually 1 year wonders... "Row the boat" Reminds me of the old and new Rutgers coach, "keep choppin" . Alot of 1 liners. If he stays successful I see him going somewhere else to coach when they come a calling and they will.
The University of Arizona needs to sign P.J. Fleck after his contract with the Golden Gophers runs out. UofA Head Coach, Kevin Sumlin, is awful. The University of Arizona has had two consecutive losing seasons since bringing Sumlin onboard in 2017. #BearDown #LetsRowtheBoat
From Western Michigan to Minnesota, two losing programs for a long time, and Coach PJ Fleck made them into winners. That's right it all about the coach.
@@iggypopisgod9 The Row the Boat mantra is a way to conduct your life outside of just football. I've heard Fleck explain the concept and it makes complete sense. I can see how that can be brought from one program to the next as it focuses on how you conduct yourself as a football player in your academic, social, and spiritual life. However, the diamond, carbon, pressure, etc. metaphor went a bit too far for me because he said the exact same thing after the Penn State win. You do that and you run the risk of not being viewed as genuine. So far, the Gophers seem to be completely buying into what he's trying to teach. It's a far cry from the days of Bear Bryant where his players were terrified of him, but they would run through a brick wall for him. You couldn't coach that way with Millennials. The Gophers' football program has been such a shit show for years that this season seems absolutely miraculous. I haven't been this amped since Lou Holtz damn near took down Troy Aikman and Oklahoma.
RUclips Algorithmic Board of Safety hahaaaa. Nicely put. I think initial impressions of Fleck when he arrived was “oh god another Brewster”. The difference is Fleck has a proven system and a solid coaching staff, Hes also a top recruiter !as was Brewster for all his flaws). Worst case: we win 2 of 3, go Rose, and finish top 10.
iggypopisgod9 Or Jim Wacker. Brewster & Wacker were nothing more than snake oil salesmen. “Get that chili hot boys!” My God, Brewster was hired simply because he claimed HE recruited Vince Young at Texas. The difference is that PJ actually believes the things he says. It’s my understanding that Mike Leach was strongly being considered for the head coaching job at some point after Craig James railroaded him out of Lubbock. I assume the powers at the U of M bought into the narrative that he tortured a kid, which was all revealed to be BS after lawsuits and documents were released. It was all about Craig James trying to bully leach into playing his lazy and pampered kid at Texas Tech. Leach would have been a great hire too. Although I’m not sure how his Air Raid offense would fair outside in the Midwest in November.
RUclips Algorithmic Board of Safety im happy the way things shook out: Fleck knows how to evaluate talent, and has a long time relationship with his staff. Looks like we wont even be favored @ iowa . Doesnt really matter. Bad match up for Hawks. see u soon floyd!
Yeah it definitely makes sense to do the best speeches of a coach who lost in the Cotton Bowl in his best season and got promoted to head coach of the laughing stock of the Big Ten. He's waaayy more relevant than Saban or Dabo or Jimbo Fisher. Way to go Cfbin30. Maybe I'll watch this video when PJ Fleck becomes the relevant in the slightest bit in the college football landscape.
Billy Arends And why are you mad lmao...WMU Is not even a top team and Flek led them to a Cotton Bowl which is an accomplishment for them...You must be salty, be lucky and grateful he's giving us CFB content and games
He was pretty relevant last year. Every power 5 school looking for a coach had high interest in Fleck and what he did in ONE season is nothing short of a miracle
Who's here after that Penn State win? Imma a believer.
Row
Melissa Davis homegirl, been a fan since he left wmu (my pops alma matter) for MN (my alma). We rowing to cfp !
Listening to him on my way to coach a semifinal championship game! So pumped
This speech got me out of bed and to the gym today. Thank you for the motivation, P.J.!
4:28 “ight I’m leaving, I’m playing” LOL
Feel that
2:18 that coach kneeling in the front row is so jacked up, better check his eligibility.
Fleck is awesome. Hes gonna build something great at Minnesota. His next recruiting class should have more talented athletes than hes ever had.
this actually aged well tf
he sucks
Here after Penn State Game
Me too!
Let's go!!! Row the boat!!
PJ Fleck would have made a hell of a DI. He got the voice for it!
Great coach
watch out for Minnesota in 5 years
You called it
you mean in 2 years?
Someone might have been too pessimistic.
I love Fleck. So glad he's our coach . I don't get the haters. This guy has done nothing but win at whatever level he's at.
This aged very well
He's so inspiring and really cool. That was close he jumped so high he almost hit his head.
Love this guy
how
Need more people so spread this video more
Dude is a hell of a coach.
how
4:15 ole boy staring coach dead in his belly button
I'm 50 and I want to pad up right now!!
Put me in coach!
I love it when he rips off the movie 300.
everyone rips off speeches
You can rip whatever works when you get his results.

I want this dude at LSU.

Let me drive da boat
ツKyle let me drive da boat
It's 'Row the Boat'!
What a stupid dumbass!
@@staceypool2318 it’s a Kodak Black thing you wouldn’t understand
When did Les Stroud start coaching football?

Men we got a date. And I promise you that date is with Destiny. LETS GO PICK HER UP!
she stood u up lol
I'm lowkey wondering was that a real diamond
I just put my hand in a bucket of coal but got nothing 😔
Fleck on the other hand just got 5 mill annually so at least he still has that diamond.
miss vs gt
Do you think he knows cameras are rolling? Its about him, not the team.
Doesn’t matter, its powerful and effective. As long as the message is received
Okay Jerry Kill.
From Western Michigan to Minnesota, two losing programs for a long time, and Coach PJ Fleck made them into winners. That's right it all about the coach.
He recycled his diamond schtick
And the row the boat slogan.... but hey, it works, why fix it?

I'm snorting anything my Fleck puts in front of me!!
He isn't a coach, he is an overpaid cheerleader...

StevoIsBack very true. I completely retract my thoughts.
He was pretty relevant last year. Every power 5 school looking for a coach had high interest in Fleck and what he did in ONE season is nothing short of a miracle
Mainly because he has such a high energy personality, and his players are behind him
Weak compared to Saban and Kirby 😂
THIS IS THE CORNIEST CRAP I HAVE EVER HEARD
