Thank you so much. I love your storage ideas. I’ve switched over to storing my ephemera on copy paper, in the record sleeves with the collection. Magnetic pages sound even easier. Thank you so much for the suggestion. 😊
I do not have a large amount of ephemera. I am using loose magnetic sheets in a bin. I like being able to flip through them to easily find what I’m looking for or just browse. So far it’s working for me.
Hmm magnetic photos pages! Very interesting ! I often cut entire alphas with my cricut but then store them in plastic baggies which make a real confusing mess. I think I will try your idea. Thanks for sharing!
Using the magnetic photo pages for alphas is a great idea! I need to share this idea with my friend Judy because she cuts out her titles with her Cricut and then dumps the letters in with her page kit. When she goes to make her layout, she will often not be able to remember what the title was and so we will play word scramble games trying to help her figure it out ... lol
I use the 12” x 12” magnetic pages to store all my die cut titles and words. I just did a Spellbinders card kit which had tons of loose ephemera and very hard to sort through while doing a class. I sorted it and used the 8 1/2” x 11” pages and it was a huge time saver! Once the kit is pretty much depleted, I will remove the remaining ephemeral and re use the pages for another project. They just make it so much easier to find things!
My brain thinks in terms of collection so that’s how I store my ephemera, but separate from the papers. I’ve tried by color but that doesn’t work for me. The rest I store much like you. Great video, very well organized!
Yes, I'm doing better ... Thank you! I'm still not 100% but at least I feel like I can start creating things again and get back to being in my craft room to craft and not just to organize .. lol
Hi Karen, I just wanted to let you know that I have been watching your videos over the years and I really miss your layout share videos, as they gave me such inspiration! Looking forward to seeing more of them in the future! Happy crafting, Maureen
Thank you so much! I have been wanting to do a layout share video so hopefully I will get the chance to do one soon. One of the things that I need to do first is get my layouts organized and figure out which ones that I've already shared in previous videos ... things have just gotten disorganized over the years especially after I moved. Once I get my layouts figured out, I'll definitely do a layout share :)
@@YesPleasePapercrafts Hi Karen, Thanks so much for responding to me, I greatly appreciate it! I can’t wait to see your layout share, as I always enjoy watching them and getting inspiration from you! Hope all is well! Happy crafting, Maureen
I rescued my photos from these albums years ago. The magnetic albums yellowed the photos, degraded them and I couldn't get the photos off the magnetic sheet without tearing them (before UNDU). Is this safe for ephemera or will this happen with them too in the long term?
I also rescued photos from these types of albums but those albums were from the 1980's. I've heard that the new magnetic pages are much different from the ones that we had way back then. Also, when putting ephemera on the magnetic pages, it's not sticky at all. It's super easy to pick things up and move them and you have to put the plastic film over the page so that things will stay. One of the main reasons why those older magnetic albums were so bad is those old Magnetic albums had adhesive that was acidic (aka very bad for photos). It also makes the photos very difficult to remove in many cases, which can cause curling or tearing if you do succeed in removing them. The magnetic albums and refill pages that I see available now use different adehsives that are acid-free so although I can't guarantee 100% that if you keep your ephemera in these for many years, that they won't be damaged, I think that the risk is pretty low consdering the new albums use a low tack adhesive that is acide free. Hope this help.
Hi Karen, in one of your vidoes awhile back you were going to try to utilize the pages from the scraprack in a different manner. What are you doing differently and how is that working?
I did take all of the scraprack pages off the scraprack and put them into a bin that I can then flip through. The only issue is that some of the scraprack pages are flimsy and they don't stay upright when you are flipping through the pages that are not full or have things where the pockets are not full or things have different thicknesses so the pages are not flat. If you have paper or all the pages are full or have flat things, then it flips pretty easy. I've been thinking about adding some cardstock to each pocket because I think it would give the scraprack pages more structure and making fliping through the pages easier. That will be a project for the future, because it will take some time to cut the cardstock and add it to the pages. I do like having the flip bins because it makes it easier to pull things out, put things back, add new things and rearrange things. Being able to do all of that without have to pull a spinder off that velcro is awesome So, although I do like having the scraprack pages in a bin, I do miss having the ability to just go to a tab and flip all the spinders at once. Hope this helps you with figuring out how to best use your scraprack.
@@YesPleasePapercrafts Those are same issues I noticed with the flimsy pages. I loved my scraprack when I was a CM consultant and had monthly crops because it was so easy to set up at the crop and customers could easily search through the pages in a category for things they needed. However, I am no longer a consultant and we moved to a smaller house when we retired so my room is a lot smaller. I had a lot of alphas and thickers in scraprack pages that I have moved to a flip bin and do find that easy to use. But the rest of the pages are not full enough to utilize that way. Thanks for sharing all your thoughts and ideas.
Putting things in containers is defintely a good way to organize when you have a disability. it makes them easier to move to another room in your house when ... I often do my crafting from my bedroom and I keep projects in containers or in carts so I can easily carry it to my bedroom 😁

The magnetic pages would definitely be good for the ephemera types I’ve collected way too much have. Definitely easier to see and use.
I like the idea of storing in a drawer by color or type especially if it’s leftover items from collections where I didn’t use it all.
Leftover's from layouts and other projects, is a lot of what I have in my color drawers :)
Love the flip system too! Love the idea using the magnetic album pages for ephemera packs!
Love your videos

I should do some color drawers .
Wow I love that magnetic picture pages idea I use a lot of binders for organization and I think that could be a solution for me.

Great for pint and cut pieces too!!
I think that's a great idea! I also thought about making samples of my metal dies and storing them in the magnetic photo albums too!

Is it hard to get the ephemera off of stickie sheets
No, the magnetic photo sheets are not realy that sticky. If you don't put the clear film on top, they would probably fall off.
I have a disability and I'm a card maker. I store my ephemera in plastic containers and other storage containers
