To the person who left a comment asking what’s wrong with me for forgetting to include the Channel Islands and West Midlands, I deliberately left 2 out because I couldn’t get the maths to work to make a nice grid. Edit: i have the footage for those two opt outs and if there’s demand I can make a revised version with those included. The export time for 16+ video streams is very long so I won’t do it unless people want it
WOW how precise! In france, France 3 airs a looping jingle for the regions to opt out for half an hour and soemtimes, they still managed to fail. Impressive for a French man
Very slick and split second timing. In the "old days" it wasn't unusual for a region to cut away too late and you'd get a few seconds of BBC London, Newsroom South East or whatever region they were taking their feed from, or they'd hand back late. Today I'm sure even if a region runs late heading back to network they could "timeshift" the incoming feed and hand back to it when they please. Then fix the delay later.
I've always wondered what the BBC one network feed shows during the regional newscasts. I'm guessing they show that "BBC One HD cannot yet show programs from your area" screen or something like that.
@@jaywright9924 Oh that makes sense is it like when each region has things like the Midlands underneath whether it is East Midlands or West Midlands and the continuity announcer in Nottingham or Birmingham decides which ident to use?
@@jaywright9924 It's only in the run-up to the news when they use a different ident and continuity announcer isn't it but for the rest of the time they use the network announcers in London and their own idents
Nothing that efficient. I screen recorded from iPlayer the countdown and headlines from the BBC News channel, then using the region drop down menu proceed to capture all of the idents and opt outs, I would also make sure to grab the headline before the opt out to use as my sync point. For the regional headlines I again went through each region to record the handoff from the news at 6 all the way to the end of the titles. All told it takes about an hour. Then probably another 3 hours to manually sync all the streams which is why I’ve only done it twice now
There are 2 regions that I didn't include in this. One is the Channel Islands, but I can't remember what the other one was. I recorded every opt out but In couldn't fit each one into a nice grid pattern so I left 2 out. The Channel Islands broadcast quality is much lower than the rest of the regions so I picked that one and another one I chose at random so if you can't find the West Midlands in the video then it's probably the other one I left out
@@jaywright9924 Hopefully somebody will have a recording of the West Midlands ident which was used before the news and they will upload it to RUclips sooner or later
Maybe if I get time. It takes about an hour and a half to get all the clips then another hour or so to edit it all together. I don’t know if I have the time right now but I’ll consider it. I was gonna do one 1 year to the day of my last one but forgot

@RUclips mix bruh
@RUclips mix That's 3rd on 1st row, bruh
There’ll be riots in St. Peter Port over this horrendous action 😜
This is absolutely beautiful. So many teams around the UK working to bring you the news!
I noticed how BBC Newsline (Northern Ireland) was the only regional new station with a on-screen bug (Located on the top right)
Perfect! Now I finally understand how the opts work. Great job!

For News Opt outs they *probably* just use the News Channel feed with sports, then on program proper One HD can't show programs card

Make one like this but for Christmas please
What do you mean for Christmas?
@@jaywright9924 he means one for December 25th.
@@moelester7527 ah well bit late for that haha

How come were most of the regions using the same idents but the remainder was showing bread or cats sleeping?
I believe each region chooses its own idents when they do their own continuity announcement

Hi, I'm interested in how you recorded so many streams at once? Did you use an IPTV connection routed through some software?

you forgot BBC ONE USA
This is just the UK opt outs. I have no idea what is broadcast internationally. This is just to show what people see in different parts of the UK
There is no BBC One version in the USA. Some countries in Europe have BBC One HD feed
@@jaywright9924 In other countries we generally have the sports feed. But at least one of my friend in France have BBC London... So it depends
