thank you sir
Thanks!
Your channel doesn't need voiceover or subtitles, as the skill of your work, speaks for itself.
The English commentary is excellent. Very easy to understand.
Do not worry about the language we love watching the the carpentry and learning.
I am a carpenter from Uk 42 years I have been working I learn every day and your channel is so interesting different techniques keep the channel going .
Man. If the world could adopt this man's elegance it would be a perfect place.
Thanks alot! Greetings from Denmark.
Thank you
You are an inspiration, a master, and a living example for making the most out of difficult times. I am sorry for the loss of your father at such an early age.
Sir, I love seeing the masterpieces you create and cherish the techniques I notice as I watch your work. Thank you thank you thank you.

Your efforts are much appreciated. Tetsudatte kurete arigato!
Nice to hear your voice!
Shoyan-san, Thank you so much for sharing your story and daiku no skills with us, your viewers. My partner, Keiko-san, grew up in Toyohashi and worked in her father's lumber yard. She is no longer alive, but every time I use my Japanese tools--kanna, nokogiri, nomi--i think of her and miss her. Please continue to make your videos. They are very instructive. Also, would you please consider making a video that shows some of the houses you have made? I am sure that other viewers would like to see them.
Thank you uncle Shoyan for teaching us.
I am a former carpenter and cabinetmaker in Canada and just found this channel. I have always been fascinated with all the incredible joints of Japanese carpentry. I'm looking forward to watching all your videos. Thanks for making these available to us.
Greetings from Bulgaria !
Being a carpenter myself it struck me when you mentioned the best part of our work. Even after 40 or 50 years you can drive by and: "This is a house I built 40 years ago and it it so strong that it will make another 40".
I am 42yrs old and a 3rd generation carpenter in East Tennessee. Since I found your channel I have learnt so much from you and different ways of doing things! So keep up the good work!!
Thank you for the video
Thank you from Oregon. Be well
This channel is a dream come true for me. I have also solely been working as a woodworker since junior high. I discovered Minkas, traditional Japanese farm houses and began studying them 20 years ago before youtube. I came to recognize that the wood working skills and practices in Japan are simply amazing and perhaps the best in the world. I always wanted to go abroad and study woodworking in Japan but knew it would never be possible, until now! Thank you for bring a small beautiful and critically import slice of Japan to me.
You are a good carpenter, Thanks for the videos from New Zealand
As a carpenter from another country I certainly can appreciate the precise nature of Japanese style joinery. I really like the interlocking joists and runners. The lovely blond wood. How it is finished on site. The detail of how much work that actually is. Thank you for sharing your vast experience with us.
Thank you for your channel.
Subscribed! I wish you and your son to continue your channel many many years ahead.
Keep making videos please ✌️
Do your thing, sir.
As a fellow carpenter I give you a high five.
Thanks
Sir, thank you for this channel, i really enjoy the content that you do, the excellent workmanship and the beautiful details of your work.
Greeting from a mexican carpenter.
Japanese carpentry is unique and wonderful, and a skilled craftsman like you a treasure. Thank you for the English channel, I hope it grows fast and very much!

Your sincerity is charming.

I'm a carpenter from Utah USA I've been doing it for 40 years. I am your newest subscriber.
Great job! Thanks
Subscribed!! I'm so glad I found your channel. I've worked building and refurbishing many homes as a general contractor but I've switched trades to become an accountant. Now I own a beautiful home that was built in 1933. It has picture windows, crown moulding, and built in cabinets. To maintain and improve it, I believe I need to increase my knowledge of joinery, and there is no better place to look than your style. Your craftsmanship matches my beautiful home's style, and my personal style as well. Domo arigato goizimaso sensei! (Sorry, my Japanese is terrible but I think you understand)
Good morning from Auckland, New Zealand. 🙂🙂🙂
You’re an inspiration!! Thank you

I like your Videos a lot. I will never meet Japan but your Chanel gives me the opportunity to learn with my eyes. Keep up the good work 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 from Germany all the best for you and your family
Thank you so, so much for all of the hard work you and your son have done to make these videos for foreign audiences. I had the incredible privilege to go to Japan and visit the Edo-Tokyo Architectural museum in 2016, and was absolutely astounded by the incredible craftsmanship of Japanese carpenters. I've wanted to learn more about Japanese carpentry ever since, and was so excited when my Dad sent me this channel. The amount of work is so evident in each video, from the easily understandable voice over and subtitles, to the incredibly helpful visual aids, your videos are wonderful, professional, and so enjoyable! I especially appreciate the visual aids for the different styles of mortise and tenon joints! These videos are truly so special, and I cannot thank you enough for all of the work you've done making them. I hope you're having a wonderful year so far, and I hope you get to make lots more!
Master, I bow before you. You are a true inspiration, you are practically the living history of Japanese carpentry. I wish you much, much health and many equally instructive videos. Greetings from Romania!
I am not a carpenter, I am actually a metal worker, engineer and I make knives. Once in a while I make small wooden furniture though. I found your channel inspiring. The mix of traitional skills and modern tools is intriguing. I had the honor to travel to Japan three times im my life fur businnes and live the art and culture.
Please keep going.

I only just saw one of your videos, and I want to say thank you for uploading. Sharing this kind of knowledge, skill, and tradition with as many people as possible is one of the true values of humanity. Thank you!
A skilled carpenter indeed.
Love your work …, love the Japanese commitment to excellence and perfection .., you sir are a Master of the craft.., thanks you for sharing
You are a true master carpenter.. Every cut you make is with great skill
and precision.. Thank you for sharing.
Shoyan, I started to watch your channel about a year ago. It’s a privilege to see traditional masters go about their trade. I myself, am a trained printer/compositor. My trade died in the mid-eighties when the digital age took over. I thought nobody would be interested in “letterpress” after that, but slowly it is now seen as an art form. Once you have those skills and enjoy the work, it becomes a hobby and you are able to teach the younger generations who are interested in how things were done. Good luck to you sir, and keep doing what you are doing.
I watch your videos to decompress from a stressful day. My work has nothing to do with construction. I trade the stock market. I find much inspiration from how precise you are with construction. And that is a skill I need to acquire too for trading. I enjoy your videos very much. I do wish that you show more of the completed work in details. I find the ending of each video quite abrupt. I wish it has at least another 1 to 2 minutes of showcasing the completed work. I also would like to see the grains of the wood that was use for each work in more detail. Thank you so much for doing these videos.
I like the way you are bilding and yousing your tools accuraat and the video’s are relaxt and calm i love that many regards from the netherlands my name cor

正やん師匠 お疲れ様でした
I have built pallets (パレット) and crates (箱) for seven years now but I apprenticed when I was 16 in western-style pole building framing (米国の柱・梁構造). Your story and videos have stirred the passion to do more than simply nail one board to another again. There are many sources to learn from and I look forward to your channel being one of them.
よろしくお願いします
Shoyan さん, I enjoy your channel. Now I live in England but I lived in Japan for two years, and so I am very interested. It is hard to find Japanese channels with English speaking, except maybe NHK World or something like that. I hope you will keep making the English version. ゆろしくおながいします。
