Everyone out there writing in their planners, and journals, and I'm here just writing in a Dollar Tree Spiral Notebook LOL. Whatever works is how I look at it. Usually just keep track of daily tasks, weather, basically just a junk journal of notes from my day.
I started in a spiral bound journal. Sometimes I wish I would have stayed “simple” and “cheap”. I do still use them, however. I’ve found out during the last 8 years that I don’t like dark lines in my journal and I need white pages. As long as those things are present, bring it on, lol. I’m really glad you still use spiral notebooks! Don’t ever feel bad for using what works and what your heart loves. The important thing is to get the words on the page and plan to help your life.
Oh how my heart loves setting up a new journal/planner. I really like doing a word every “weeks/months, etc..” instead of word of the year. I do like being accountable to one word, but I also like the idea that in a few months I can choose a new word. Thank you for sharing your setup and giving me ideas for mine. Your videos are so inspiring to me.
I love all of your ideas 💡 so thank you! 🙏 I am oldER 😂 (57 🙄) and as I have aged I am getting more sentimental while at the same time feeling the need to get rid of stuff. Not the important stuff but the stuff that is just laying around and taking up space for absolutely no reason at all. That is actually not what I was going to say when I started this comment (again 🙄?) We have some papers that were my grandfathers (he was a farmer) and what is so fascinating is he would take little calendar books that the bank gave away (too bad those days are gone 😂) and he would write down the price of cotton he sold and how much he paid for a bull 🐂 and even how much they paid for bread and eggs when they finally had a store available to them. Or, people would pull up in a wagon selling things and he would buy homemade creams and pain relief things and he even jotted that stuff down, their names, where they were from and what he bought, how much he paid for it and how it was meant to be used. He ignored the dates in the calendar and you could tell he carried this thing around because every one we have is very worn in. Every single person in my family loves those little books, they love to see how much something was back then and this actually generates much conversation about my grandparents which makes my Mom happy because at 85 she loves talking about the old days. All of that to say please dont think that your grocery lists and expenses are something that isn’t interesting in the long term, it might be very interesting to you in 20 years and even beyond! I actually have one of my grandmothers grocery lists framed in my kitchen and because it is her handwriting I consider that thing to be priceless. It is a moment in time kind of thing, this moment in time why would I save this but for the future moment in time it might be the most important thing someone owns? Sorry for the long comment! T ✌🏻
Awww! That's such a heartwarming story! Thank you for sharing. It really shows just how valuable those everyday details can be over time. Okay, reading your comment may have seriously convinced me to keep my random "scribble scrabbles" then 🥹
@@SeaweedKisses Oh for sure keep them, everybody in my family wants my grandfathers little bank books and there isn’t enough to go around?! 😂 I won’t go into my grandmothers recipes, my Mom organized them in modern binders along with her own recipes. I have letters to me when I was a little kid from my grandparents. I mean a whole box. They are so fun to pull out and read now that I’m older (52). I even have a pic of my mom at about 3 yrs old and my grandma, Great grandma and great-great grandma all in one pic. That one is framed on my desk ❤

I mean Im thinking of writing the translations on mini sticky notes and place them over the text. That way Ill get to see the cute photos :')
Love that TRC tabs! Used them on my A6 Hon this year so I can attest that they’ll last all year. Super durable. I’m probably going to use the blue ones this year. I have those Suatelier tabs also!
Love the idea of having a place to keep memories or something special or inspirational from the day🤎 I spy “Queen of Shadows” do you know I got all the way to page 582, put the book down months ago and haven’t picked it back up?! Ughhhh give me a THICK notebook and I’m there! But 1/2 through I get bored and wish I would have gotten a thinner one so I could switch it up. The decisions….lol.
I find it funny that so many use the next year's monthlies for something else, I WANT to keep them as calendars, I wouldn't mind if they gave us the whole another year of monthlies! :D Because over the year there are always some events that I want to mark for the next year and I don't really have a good place for them, unless I happen to find some insert. (Filofax has them but I haven't seen them in the website I use for shopping, just their British site.) Or maybe some books I want to read during that particular month because they are set in that time etc. But yeah, I use them for forward planning and ideas before I get my calendar for that year.
What's up Michelle! The WANTED pages is all that and a bag of chips. 😁I usually wait until 1/1 before I use my Hobonichi. This year, I do not think I am going to make it. I am ready to start using them right now.💜
Thanks, that was really helpful! I’ve never really planned on how to use my planners before. Hence why I probably never maximize their functionality. Loved the sticky note idea and even your type of sticky note- 1.5 x 3? Kraft paper? Where to buy please! And yes,I got the A6 HON and yes, after totally geeking out playing with the cover, immediately put on the plastic outside cover so as not to stain the fabric. I think I will adapt most of your ideas on how to use the sections with one notable exception of using the front 2026 annual calendar to block out upcoming vacations or important events I can see them at a glance as I have a terrible habit of “double booking” things. Additionally. The “100” s page list is going to be perfect for an activity my international friends and I do every year which is to compare/list favorite all time books with each other and the critics. I am however, also a geek when it comes to translating all the Japanese language pages using google lens and in doing so have found a number of useful ways they were intended to be used, interesting facts etc. The Hobonichi website often highlights different individuals usages as well. Not a tabs fan myself but would actually go with the orange! lol, I always put a sticker on between the plastic cover and the planner cover but don’t adhere it do I can change it out.
Thank you! The kraft sticky notes are made by a Korean brand, Dansoon. It came in a small multi pack. I like your idea for the "100" page list! Very creative and sounds fun! Thanks for sharing your tab color suggestion as well!🥰
The black tabs are my favorite. The blue tabs would be my second choice. I love your big sticker under the clear cover. I’m considering the Hon for next year. Where is your clear cover from?
I use an A6 Hobonichi Techo as a calender/real planner and jot down my very few appointments in the monthlies. The calendex is to check off my daily cleaning tasks. And in the dailies I write down one or two nice things about my day, like when I received a compliment, spotted a fox right here in the city or whatever positive thing comes to mind at the end of the day. My journal is mostly me ranting and venting, which I need to balance, hence the Hobonichi. My go to journals are Leuchtturm 1917, but I started experimenting with TRP Sanzen notebooks lately. Not sure if I will switch to TRP, because even though the inks look better than on the LT1917 paper, the pages need forever to dry, which slows down and hampers my ranting. 😁

Thanks for sharing your tab color suggestion as well!🥰
@ Thanks for the info! You are a great resource!
@ Ah, Mochithings. Should’ve known!
こんにちは 嬉しいです。日本語訳 ありがとうございます。 私もモレスキンが大好きです。
The black tabs are my favorite. The blue tabs would be my second choice. I love your big sticker under the clear cover. I’m considering the Hon for next year. Where is your clear cover from?
Thanks for the suggestions. The clear cover is from Hobonichi website. It's their Hon A6 cover. You may be able to find them on Amazon, too
I use an A6 Hobonichi Techo as a calender/real planner and jot down my very few appointments in the monthlies. 😁
Thanks for sharing❤
Oohhh I love that Traveler's Notebook sticker set. Are they still available?
Yes they are! You can find the 2025 edition
Thx for this Video
How did u scan & print the pages?
by using my printer. You just copy the pages and print out. easy!
@ Thx. Nice to know that even old technology still serves tech savvy generations.
Btw- I love the character on the front with the flowers. I don’t know his name.
Black or Blue
They have the same notebook at Dollar tree for $3. 🤣
Dollar Tree has Tomor River paper journals? Really?
@torres870rem You do know that just because it looks similar, it's not gonna be the same quality, right?
👀 prove it!🤣
