I think the mint green bowls could be switched out for something patterned to place on the mint green plates. Because the lilac ones match the floral plates perfectly.

Since I am a member of your "family", as your auntie (I am much older than you. lol), I would LOVE to see more of the renovations and home updates. I may have had a bit of a hellish experience with renovations (I'm the one with the primer skunk stripe down my back), but I LOVE seeing the transformations and seeing the vision/creativity.
I don't really think the blue bowls go with the rest of your dinnerware, not sure what to change it to the but the style does look right, not trying to be rude, just helpful

I ADORE how politely you explained a price check at tk maxx. I work for marshal's which is a sister store, owned by the same company, and when we do that at my store usually the customers aren't happy with our procedures!!

Those aqua bowls are a thing here in the US. We tend to get one or two of a color we like and sort of collect them as they have a multitude of uses. I like the other dishes, but honestly, get more of any other kind when on clearance. That's the anthro secret. All my dishes are from them which I've collected over the years and always get so many compliments on them. I don't care whether you are rich or poor, getting them on sale and over time is the way to go. It's definitely nice and more adult when your crockery matches but it's just so much more homey and comforting when it doesn't. Also just plain cool.

I got the £3.50 latte Anthro bowls in four different colours (one each) and it looks lovely on the shelf! Mismatched and yet not mismatched!
