Here I will show you how to remove anchor worm from fish body.
At first you have to identify the infected fish. Place the fish in a hospital tank(10 Gallons tank) and add a air stone with moderate air flow.The fish should be caught very gently and the anchor worm can be easily removed by pulling it out from the fish's skin.Every anchor worm has to be removed well. So that, not a single worm remain in fish's body. Anchor worm can spread directly from fish to fish.This direct life cycle can take from 18 to 25 days at 26-28°C to complete.Only a fish is necessary for the organism to develop from egg to mature adult.Mature female within 24 hours released eggs produce batches of up to 250 juveniles. So, the anchor worm should be removed as soon as possible. Otherwise this worm will kill your fishes.

I only have a mystery snail in the tank. Lost my betta to anchor worm. Do I need to treat the tank before adding a new fish? Will my snail be infected with any remaining anchor worms in the tank or do I need to dissenter the whole tank. Water quality is all good per test kit results.

You don’t need to treat your whole tank of fish ? There must be eggs in the main tank

I did this mistake. I only put my infested fish in qurentine and didn't clean my aquarium. Within 10 days 15 other fish got infested by anchor worms and I lost total 20 fish because all these 20 were small platty and couldn't survive anchor worms. Some died due to potassium permanganate as these small fish couldn't tolerate it.
