They wanna die so bad lol. Being in a chaos dreadnought/hellbrute is considered a disgraceful punishment where you can no longer feel the thrill and sensation of battle. There is no greater thinking or plan to take honour in like loyal astartes, you just wanna melt already so you can get this crap over with

Because being entombed in Loyalist Dread sarcophagus is a high honor, while being hooked up in a Chaos Dread is suffering worse than death. Go read about Helbrutes.

When A loyalist dreadnought is not in use its placed in stasis and its pilot into induced sleep/coma.
when a Chaos dreadnought is not in use they disconnect him from being able to move or do anything - he is just there - fully awake - all the time -this is literally a torture to induce insanity and rage - so when they DO connect him back - his is full of rage and wants to tear apart everything around him - and withfollowers of Khorne they do not bother where the blood flows from (enemy or ally :P).
So after few hundret years of that kind of torture - if not worse - you would want to die too mate... :P
Therefore to become a loyalis Dread - its an honor and a chance to live again to serve the emperor.
To become chaos dread - is a fate worse than death.
Become a stronger man so you can be loyalist dreadnought

Imagine yourself being a mere soldier, fighting your most hated enemy, then you see a massive hulk of metal and violence. It charges at you, accompanied by screeching of metal and the maniacal laughter.

In my opinion, Chaos Space Marines aren't supposed to sound like manaical shouting psychopaths. I'd say these voices suit them perfectly. They're supposed to sound like soldiers above all, not psychopaths(Although some like the Khorne Berzerkers are). Dreadnought voice is perfect. This is what happens when an Aspiring Champion dies and goes COMPLEATLY insane locked inside his walking prison. Perfect voices. Great work.
in one game when the chaos dreadnought dies it says " A chaos dreadnought has escaped into the afterlife"... I feel sorry for them, because I keep on thinking whenever I see that "rest well in the light of the emperor" because I always think of them as loyalists who had been awoken and had their dreadnought's corrupted by their fallen brothers to the point they went insane... and then that got me thinking... is there any traitor legion dreadnoughts that still hold loyalists that had been left behind?
Most likely there are some space marines from traitor legions who still loyal in deathwatch, couse they accept any spacemarine, including those who want to repend. Most likely they will be black shields.
That kind of was the backstory behind Mortis Metalikus, the Chaos Dreadnought/Helbrute that came in the Dark Vengeance pack w/ Crimson Slaughter vs. Dark Angels. The guy in Mortis Metalikus was Sevarion Kranon, captain of Crimson Saber SM chapter 2nd Company and the biological brother of the chapter master Sevastus Kranon. When the chapter fell to chaos and became the Crimson Slaughter warband, Sevarion protested the corruption and stayed loyal to the Emperor. As a result, his brother Sevastus - now called Kranon the Relentless, crippled him and locked him up in a dreadnought shell. Sevarion descended into insanity and became a raging slaughter machine until he was destroyed, a fate that he supposedly welcomed.
I feel like some chaos dreadnought are loyalists since what ever chapters who turned to chaos took whatever arsenal they can such as the dreadnought who were sleeping not knowing that their chapter fell into chaos hands are still loyalist. But for those who have been awake are out of redemption since they have been awake since the beginning of the corruption
Anchorite. Word Bearers Dreadnought who decided to surrender himself to the Ultramarines after Chaos shenanigans. Was imprisoned on a cardinal world and was the mastermind behind a majority of the Imperial Cult.
Chaos Dreadnoughts are treated awful. After all, they failed the Dark Gods, why treat them good? They are forced into their walking tombs, most of the time with a Daemon, and, unlike Loyalist Dreadies, aren't allowed to sleep, and are on constant agony. So much, infact, that they lose their minds. They YEARN for death. They WANT to die.
Short description for this guy: *“I have a question for God....WWWWWHHHHHYYYYY!?! Just kill me please!!”*
0:27 That prolonged yell/scream reminds me of both Inferno & Rampage from Beast Wars.
Considering how many of Beast Wars' cast worked on the DOW series, that seems appropriate.

I swear I never hear like, half of the quotes in this game.
A lot of them either require certain commands or events (I had never heard the Loyalist Dreadnought's stop command quotes before I found the button. "Stop, we have a change of orders.")
Others are more like idle chatter than the unit says every now and then. I.e you don't click him to hear it, but if enemy units move into his line of sight he might say something (Tactical Marines sometimes say "By the Emperor, what is that thing?" IIRC)
It's also possible some of them are unused or unusual.

Fluff-wise, becoming a Chaos Dreadnought equates great suffering, as the encased Chaos Marine is awake most of the time (read: always), and it usually drives him to greater heights of madness. Being encased in a Dreadnought sarcophagus is especially infuriating for servants of Slaanesh, as it means that they will never experience ever greater highs as they used to.
Imagine the VA's face when he recorded these lines... xD

Honestly I've never played DoW but these dudes are so much better then the Hellbrutes that replaced them on the tabletop, there's just something about a dreadnought that the Hellbrute ain't got.
