Just pick one that you'd like to play, and that is good set up (heigh of the strings etc), comfy to play and stays on tune. I would not search for amazing sound on a newies guitar. I think it's more important to get the one who inspires you a lot to practice and don't make you wanna quit becouse its ugly or hard for your hands. So go and try a lot of guitars with a friend who can play, but remember what's important it's that inspires you to practice. Good luck!

I'm not sure, but I think dookie was last album all the songs were half step down. they started to use standard tuning. notice live he uses "blue" for dookie songs and before.... it's tuned to e flat, when the other guitars are standard. maybe one in drop d probably

Well, humbuckers sound best in the bridge compared to single coils. And, speaking in the sense that he plays punk, rock, etc. that's all you need. That and a P90.
