My envelope budgeting has changed a bit because of inflation but it’s still helpful. I no longer put all my grocery money in an envelope because I’ve learned self control when shopping. I had to get out the mind set of using cards, ANY cards. I wasn’t aware of my spending using debit or credit cards. Now my grocery apps are set for pickup on payday so I use my debit card. IF my planned grocery pickup order had leftover money I put it in my fast food envelope. My mother saw how organized I was and decided to try it! It took two weeks to set her up. She’s a retired nurse so she’s only paid twice a month. We started November of last year. We both messed up but kept going , raised our credit scores, both bought new used vehicles at a great price and have a one month emergency fund! Now our goal is to prepare for the 100 envelope challenge in January. I love your channel and you encourage me to do better even in hard times.
I haven’t had a issue with paying cash. However, you can make sure you have exact change if you’re paying a bill or always carry a little bit of change in your purse.
