    Great video! I always say I'm going to record everything that comes off an animal when we butcher and then I'm usually tired from butchering and just throw it in the freezer lol. How old was t-bone? Was he totally grass fed? Do you know what hanging weight includes in Canada? I ask because we usually butcher our Herefords at 2 years and they do get grain twice a day in addition to free choice hay and/or grass. We do our own now and don't usually bother weighing but when we brought them to be butchered our hanging weight was usually around 800-900lbs.

    • @VenisonforDinner
      @VenisonforDinner  4 года назад +2

      Tbone was 18 months old and he was grain finished. Hanging weight is half the carcass, what goes on to the butcher

      Right, I am sensitive to the protein in beef, but not venison. I can’t explain it, that’s just what the test says! And my body. When I eat beef, I usually get a headache within 1-2 hours. After venison, I do not.

    • @VenisonforDinner
      @VenisonforDinner  2 года назад

      We raise all of our own meat and butcher it all ourselves. If we have excess (usually pork) we sell the animal to our customers who deal with the butcher themselves.
