Great overview, very well explained. I believe you forgot to mention the step of setting the chrome ring to match the film speed (ASA) being used. You need to rotate the chrome ring by moving the little bump on the bottom side to match the film speed, then the shutter speed and aperture will be correct. Cheers!

Hello ! I see from your comment that you know well this camera. I am interested in buying one but I before, I would like to be sure I can chose aperture and shutter speed by my own. I don't want to be limited by the combination given by the camera. Can you confirm I will be free to set my own settings? Thank you in advance!!

@@juliebur8220 Yes, aperture, shutter speed and ISO/ASA can all be set independently on this camera.

What do you think about the D2? Which Ds will you recommend?

Good camera and great video! My grandfather gave me one when I was a kid. I had been using Pen S and I had always had to carry a light meter with me, but with the Pen D I could leave the light meter home and go for a trip and shooting with the camera alone. The EV system of the Pen D is good to learn exposure --- the aperture, shutter speed and film speed relationship. If I recall correctly the speed of film setting is on the other side of barrel of the lens. The Pen D in the video seems to have distance only in meter, but isn't it inconvenient to users in the US? Was the Pen D exported overseas?

The meter should move even if you point it at a light in your house or your cell phone screen. The light meters often don't work in these cameras, but you can use the camera without a meter, just use a light meter app on your phone.

@@japanvintagecamera8869 Thank you. I think it is not working. But I find it will move from 15 to 17 and move back to 15 some time. But I think i just using my app is better. haha, thanks a lot for give me a reply!
