The 80s/90s TMNT cartoon made the same mistake with their TMNT/Usagi crossover calling him "Usagi Yojimbo," instead of his actual name "Miyamoto Usagi." Reminds me of the Kid Icarus/Pit confusion in "Captain N: The Game Master."
i hope one day Stan Sakai fully brings this back as a series or a continuation to the new one in one-way or another id love to watch it all the way through
The voice acting for Usagi was awesome in this pilot. But I still prefer Jason Griffith's voice, because he soundd exactly like how I expect him to sound when I read the comics.

Because this is just a pilot concept they showed to TV Networks, they probably would of changed Usagi's voice in the finished product, if it did become a TV show.

Usagi deserves his own TV series I know he appears in the 80s 2003 and 2012 Ninja turtles series and his comics. I'm glad this didn't happen. I loved the original comics in the mid to late 80's, this cartoon is not doing justice to them. DISCLAIMER: I probably would've watched the shit out of this anyways.

Space Usagi, kind of like Space Ninjas, I seen Teru Teru Bouzu in the Usagi Yojimbo comic, but is Teru Teru Bouzu was seen in a traditional or 2D animated TMNT cartoon in 2003 or in TMNT 80s episodes when Usagi appears? I want to see Teru Teru Bouzu in a cartoon, because they resembled of cute ghosts with strings tied on their necks like scarfs!

It would have been interesting if the Prince got overwhelmed by robots after disobeying Orders. Because Usagi Knew he was inexperienced. But no their all capable fully developed warriors. Perhaps that's part of why it was not picked up, as cool as the action is, there is no where for characters to grow. No lessons for this experienced Space Usagi to learn. Only to win the war against the Empress and maintain Honor.

Miyamoto Usagi actually. The original comics title, "Usagi yojimbo" translates to rabbit bodygaurd. Usagi=rabbit, yojimbo=bodyguard. I've been reading them since the '80s.

It's real. Unfortunately (as noted in a comment above), the failure of Bucky O' Hare caused the studios to not pick this up.
