I jammed this when it came out. Nonstop. I forgot about it My son and his mother were killed in a car accident. I was driving to Arkansas where my son caught his last fish of his 4 year life. This song came on and it made sense to me. Miss you Christian and Jen

Yup. It grabbed me well the first time I heard it.
I then forgot almost everything about it except the first few melody lines which kept coming back.
I dig the song and like the video, save the messing with the little boy stuff.

Personally I feel the song is about PTSD, Stress, Suicide. something along those lines. Like the thoughts of someone saturated in depression and desperation to escape and possible acceptance to the outcome. This is what I hear, feel, and get from the lyrics. Clamoring and groveling for the high road we have our eyes set on. - Goldfish

+Fuschiababe We're bound to wait all night
      She's bound to run amok
      Invested enough in it anyhow,
      To each his own...
      The Garden needs sorting out
She curls her lips on the bow
And I don't know if I'm dead or not
      To anyone...
Come on and get the minimum
Before you open up your eyes,
This army has so many heads
      To analyze...
Come on and get your overdose
      Collect it at the borderline
And they want to get up in your head...
      [Chorus:]
Cause they know and so do I
The high road is hard to find
A detour to your new life
Tell all of your friends goodbye
The dawn to end all nights
That's all we hoped it was
A break form the warfare in your house
      To each his own...
      A soldier is bailing out
He curled his lips on the barrel
And I don't know if the dead can talk
      To anyone...
Come on and get the minimum
Before you open up your eyes
This army has so many hands
      Are you one of us?
Come on and get your overdose
      Collect it at the borderline
And they want to get up in your head
      [Chorus:]
Cause they know and so do I
The high road is hard to find
A detour to your new life
Tell all of your friends goodbye

Oh my god piss off with that utter self entitled bullshit. I find it fascinating hearing music from T.V shows, films, videogames etc. What an amazing thing.. that you could be watching a film and hear a song that blows you away that you had no idea existed and wasn't even looking for it. Yet by the strings of the natural order and interconnectivity the song came to you! And now you could never live without it.
Just an example of bands that have truly become ingrained in me. From American dad.. My Morning Jacket, Wax Fang. From playing Forza Horizon; Empire of the sun. The list is limitless, what awesome ways to spread great music.

Love anything James Mercer does and was overjoyed with the Broken Bells. For some reason this song makes me think of Supertramp. Love it. The outro is gorgeous.

I haven't heard this song since shortly after it was released, but I remember loving the vibe. If I recall, it used to play in our home theater section when I worked at Best Buy. So tonight I'm driving back home on a 10 hour round trip, and I was turned around on a country road due to a fire. Detoured back through a little back woods town, and got to a fork in the road with a high road and a low road, and said to myself "I'm taking the high road!" I then instantly remembered this song after all these years and had to come back for a listen 😁

This song evokes such a deep emotional reaction in me...it's a nighttime driving song with somber, nostalgic undertones and it's just...so beautiful. Furthermore, this band is underrated AS HELL, making me even sadder! *I love Broke Bells sm*

Its the year 2011, I remembered this being the first album I bought with my allowance money as a middle school kid. This was before Spotify, I didn’t know who this artists was and what the genre was. Also, I loved the cover. Sadly, It was this and ghostland observatory as the only album that was left in the music department when borders bookstore closed in my neighborhood. I remember putting this album in my CD player and high road and the entire album blew my mind . Honestly loved each part and combination of electronica and indie rock. My favorite early 2010s albums.

Hi guys, just so you know this song is part of the soundtrack of a movie called Rabbit Hole, it's about a couple recovering from the lost of their child in a car accident, beautifully done. Stars Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart, I say this cause the movie is so sad and beautiful that mad eme look this song up. Maybe if you're listening to the song randomly can watch the movie, it's seriously great.
