The truth of the matter is that this is 2023 and I literally on a google search found dozens of shoes with custom sizes available and even Nike, New Balance, Adidas, Reebok, Under Armor all have links on their pages where people needing larger sizes can submit forms to have a pair made. He said his mom could t find any but like I said I found a tone with little to no effort via google so I don’t know if his mom is reaching out to Tom from MySpace or Ask Jeeves to search but either the lying or completely inept.
I went through this when I was younger. I'm only size 14. It's getting better nowadays. But, my choices are always limited. Have you tried Amazon? That's where I've been ordering from lately. They have a try before you buy for prime members.
16 is way easier now than it used to be. Most big and tall stores carry that size now. You used to have to order them through Easton magazine, and they were expensive as hell

This interview is of a nervous 14 year old boy who did NOT want to be even more of a "standout", but we were literally forced with not other conceivable options. I don't see any mention about Eric just being a "normal" (albeit very tall, and beyond normal sizes) person or if there is a growth hormone issue that is not possible to control. I wonder if medical companies would get involved, if it's the latter, and possibly his health insurance would cover his shoes as durable medical equipment since he cannot really get around without shoes and he cannot find shoes to fit. Just a thought.

I am Eric's mom, and I can confirm that he does not deal with any pituitary, or abnormal growth issues. He will stop growing at the same schedule as any other teenage boy- he probably has another year or so left of growth. As his pediatrician says, "he's just a big kid".

My uncle was so tall he couldn't use a regular sized bed. Because his feet would hang off by lots. He had a bed special made. They couldn't even get the bed into a standard bedroom door way. So they had to put the bed in the living room that was one huge room/opened up and he slept in there. Being to tall definitely has it's problems. Hit the gym it might help slow your growth, plus you would be a brut! Shaq help this kid with some foot gear and clothes. Buying jeans must be a challenge too! Good luck.

I hate to say it, but given this kid's size at 14, his quality of life isn't likely to improve in the coming years. It isn't just his height, it's his overall size. Even at 6'10", size 23 feet are disproportionately large. If his heart gets to a certain size, he'll be lucky to make it to old age.
