    You've made a great job of this. You've demonstrated the benefits of being able to think about and plan what you're doing and then, most importantly, being able to manufacture (often from scraps) parts that would cost tens to hundreds of dollars to buy. All in a basic backyard workshop. Well done!

    Very good video mate its what ill sort of go through with my trans cooler setup i spoke to you about. The hose work ill have to figure out is going from the oil cooler piping on the cross member to the trans cooler lines. I still need to source those pipes to make it all work still.

    I'm doing my mates 300 and there's a adapter plate from concept performance which eliminates all that which I had to use of a extra capacity sump if you want photos of it I can send it to you.

      G'day Jose, are you referring to the BDE Remote Filter Block?

    • @josecarreira8934

      @@TheAussieShed yes that's it

    • @TheAussieShed
      @TheAussieShed  2 года назад +2

      @@josecarreira8934 Ah okay, its definitely a nice bit of Gear. Perfect if you have an extra capacity sump as you say or if you are using the BDE Crank Girdle Assembly.
      In my situation it would have solved one problem but created a couple of others. Firstly the extra complexity & extra fittings required to Plumb in an in line Oil thermostat & secondly a Decent location for the remote filter mount, which again introduces more plumbing routing issues & more fittings overall.
      With a bigger sump you probably have no choice though.
      Cheers Mate.

    What was the advantage of having the original oil cooler on the stock pressure relief valve. Was it so the oil heats up quicker for daily driving ? Just a question you got to ask. As per usual out standing video and work. I imagine it will take a little longer for the oil to come up to temp before you cain the guts out of it.

    • @TheAussieShed
      @TheAussieShed  2 года назад +1

      G'day Derek, I honestly can't see any real benefit to the stock system at all, other than some possible small benefit at sustained high speed high & high RPM driving, where you would have a lot of airflow through the front.
      I can't imagine it would help with warm up time either as its not thermostatic.
      The biggest benefit of the Thermostatic Sandwich Plate used on this setup, is they work great to bring the oil temps up quite quickly in comparison to a system without one. I wouldn't run a cooler this big on a road car without one, as it would be a problem with the generally short cycling of the cooling system.
      I have this same setup in my TT 370gt & it controls the oil temp really well even at fairly low speeds. Warm up is also quite Rapid.
      Cheers Mate.

      You know your zx is so awesome and such a testimony to what can be done maybe it should be mainly a show car. Just have to put up with a lot of dribbling Z fans. Really appreciate your work and videos thanks.

    What are you doing as far as bypass valves? Hearing a lot of conflicting information. I’m thinking of running a NA oil tree, removing the bypass valves in the block and running a internally bypassed filter.

    • @TheAussieShed
      @TheAussieShed  9 месяцев назад +1

      G'day Mate, All of the JDM Engines like this one have the bypass valves in the oil filter tree & not in the block. So, I didn't have to deal with this issue. I'm using a US Market NA oil filter tree, that has no bypass valves as standard, so best of both worlds. I would remove them personally, pretty much all modern filters have a bypass valve built into them. Cheers.

      @@TheAussieShed thanks! Heard they can fall out and destroy your oil pump 😱

  • @EthanD19

    Hey mate just wondering could I potentially block off the tt oil tree on the valve (don’t know if this will affect oil in anyway as it’ll be going no where) and then block the oil pan then just run the lines from the sandwich adapter? I just have no way of removing the tree as it’s in the car. Love your work been following for ages.

    • @TheAussieShed
      @TheAussieShed  2 года назад

      Hi Ethan, I would assume so. I would probably cap it with something that threads in place of the barb, due to the pressure. it may blow off a typical hose cap style end. Or you could run it straight into the oil pan return, remember you must have the restrictor in the line to do it this way. Z1 do it that way with their full flow kit.

    • @EthanD19
      @EthanD19 2 года назад

      @@TheAussieShed yeah I’ll do that then. One day I’ll make all the oil pan and that are AN fittings (if I can I’ve converted nearly every line already). I’ll just use a bolt then but I’m not sure whether to use oil Teflon / plumbers tape to seal it.

    • @TheAussieShed
      @TheAussieShed  2 года назад

      @@EthanD19 I think the barb uses a copper washer to seal as its not a Taper thread, teflon tape will be fine, or a liquid sealant.
