One thing about Sammy is that before getting pinched with Gotti, the only time that I can find that he was arrested was in the early 70s when an associate testified that Sammy had taken part in a double murder in 1969. The case got dismissed 1 week into the trial. He didn’t really spend anytime in jail. The point is that Sammy never faced real time in prison and he didn’t have a Cosa nostra lineage. He had become extremely wealthy and just don’t think he was built for prison. Personally I believe he flipped because he was seeking revenge on John Gotti and he didn’t want to spend the rest of his life in prison. When it comes to Sammy, assume everything is a lie unless it can be substantiated by other sources.
Gotti lived like a gangster and died like one, Sammy will die a dirty, grimey, lying rat.

Well as an Italian-American myself there's no such thing as German blood or Italian blood lol I took a 23 and me test and I came up 99.9% European and yes it said parts of my family was from Italy and everything Big chunks of it but these are not races of people it's just where your family came from everybody in Europe's the same race for the most part we're all just white people that came from Europe
Joe watts is the most underrated gangster of all-time in my opinion. The guy was always rich, and because he was never made, he had more freedom than anybody else in that crew.

My stepfather knew Joe since the 60s I remember him coming by the house when I was 10-11, 77-78, he never came in the house would just hangout in the driveway or in the back where we had our pigeon coop, he hang for like an hour mostly just joking around and making small talk, there would be 1 maybe 2 sentences in the whole conversation that were about business and even those were short and cryptic and then go on his way, I think they parted ways because I only remember him come by a few times when I was young, I remember seeing him around the neighborhood a few times in my teens, I know he lived in my neighborhood on Staten island for many years, not sure when, but it was definitely one of his stomping grounds, he was tall always dressed nice, knowing him since I was a kid he never seemed intimidating, but when I was in my 20s there was an incident where he gave my friends a message and I just happened to be around at the time and he looked me dead in the eyes almost the whole time he was saying what he had to say,

I think an interesting podcast would be one discussing the gangsters and associates of LCN who were half Italian from their mother's side such as Joe Watts, Mark Reiter, Willie Boy Johnson, Henry Hill, John Veasey, and Apples McIntosh amongst others. These associates all had mom's who were of Italian descent, but their fathers were non-Italian so they could not be made. However, IMO and from my experience people who have only an Italian mom are actually more Italian than people who only have an Italian father. Associates with only an Italian mom should be allowed to join. What do you think?
