Honestly the only good thing about the Young Bucks interfering was the end when Dax said "It's not gonna be some gymnastics routine". Thought Jim would've commented on that for sure.
On bte after dax said that Matt Jackson said "oh yes we will" so that scares me a little that ftr is going to have to wrestle a young buck type of match
Gresham deserved to be the main event for the ROH title but it needed to be a bigger name opponent. Why not Jay Lethal? He showed up there! They couldn't have had that match? I don't get the booking.
I have to say, I have agreed with Jim’s portrayal of the Bucks, but this was the night that it was on full display. They looked so much like they didn’t belong, more than they ever have. I just always imagine that casual fan who decided to give wrestling one more try after giving it up for a while, and this is the first time they’ve seen any of these people. The ONLY possible response to seeing the Bucks here is, “Who are these children?”
It was my first time seeing them in person, and good God are they small. They're talented, even if they feel kinda stale and over hyped. But I was in the second row and they were like right in front of me at what point, such tiny men they are. FTR aren't tall either, but they still look like they could kick your ass
"Cannot somebody have a goddamn bit of logic, common sense and gumption to reward the real talent instead of the people who don't hurt anybody's feelings and suck on our television?" As one who is posting here post Brawl Out, this is one sad foreshadowing from Jim Cornette.
The reason the match was on at the start of the second hour was because the Briscoes were already booked for Impact's Multiverse Of Matches later that night and were the main event against the Good Brothers. They set it up where the Briscoes are going to be in a feud with the Bullet Club. I can't wait for Cornette to have a conniption when the news is announced that Impact has signed the Briscoes to a long term contract. 😀
I usually listen to your reviews before i watch a match just to save time, but for this one and Cody Rhodes vs Seth Rollin i made sure to watch beforehand 😂
This entire ppv was really good. Loads of wrestling, no silly stuff. It was interesting to see some wrestlers I’ve only seen do jobs on Dark do some really quality matches. This tag team match was certainly the highlight. I appreciate that crowd. I’m not as hardcore against the comedy in AEW as Jim is but I’d love to see more of this bleed onto the AEW shows. I just wish Jim could get past the heel/face thing. It’s not like it used to be.
The heel/face thing today still exists. But its a product of the live crowd reaction. The performers have to be good enough to change the match up on the fly based on the reaction they get from the crowd. And they were good enough in this match.
Honestly... the Young Bucks are THE reason why I don't watch AEW. They're awful. Politicking their way into a top spot. I've dealt with their ilk before in Pro wrestling.
Maybe if the concentrated more on the wrestling instead flips and dives the could be better. If they actually wrestled and knew when to incorporate their junk it would go over better instead of playing with friends.
Years ago I was channel surfing and unfortunately stumbled upon the dumb cucks. I thought they were douche bags then. They have only reinforced that thinking since being bigger douche bags in AEW.
It would have to be a major offer. It's been alluded to on the show, but they make way more farming than 95% of wrestlers. They wrestle because they enjoy it. And it shows
Gotta give The Briscoes BIG TIME credit........ They wrestled Thursday night, then 2 separate PPV's on Friday night within a 3 hour span. Didn't like that they lost both matches on Friday night though......

You wanted to see this team that is not ready for the world stage in a dream match with FTR. Khan saves ROH (like Cornette did) and gives you the Briscoes. He can watch it for you too Jim.
Yeah honestly. This is the guy that brought back CM Punk (who has been involved in arguably the best angle of the year) gave us the second coming of AmDrag, and just gave us Briscoes/FTR. Khan has done more to save the wrestling industry and bring great matches with great talent to fans in the last six months than anyone else has in the last decade. This Tony Khan purchase of ROH gives me Vince McMahon WCW purchase vibes. Wheeler Yuta defeating Josh Woods for the ROH Pure Championship? Really? Yuta is a terrific talent but having him go over Josh Woods was so WWE typical. What's next? Christian Cage, Brian Cage, Miro, Ricky Starks or Hook defeating Jonathan Gresham for the ROH World Championship? If the legacy and the current state of ROH wil be used this way then ROH would have been purchased by New Japan Pro Wrestling or Impact Wrestling. It looks like the Briscoes will be doing fine in the National Wrestling Alliance as they recently won the 2022 Crockett Cup.
when they announced that Tony Khan would also be the booker for ROH, I got terrified. Seeing the results of this show, it was quite apparent that Tony Khan McMahon'd ROH the way the WWF jobbed out WCW during the "invasion" angle. With probably a few exceptions from the past ROH roster, I'm willing to bet most of those guys are gone. Then they said that ROH will just become a developmental place for ROH, which is why Wheeler Yuta got that title. People are saying that his win is for a story to get into the Regal group, but it's like so ROH is just going to prostrate itself like that? Is that how it's going to be used? I kinda feel bad for those ROH people who aren't getting signed. Now, with regards to FTR getting the tag titles, I'm willing to bet that they'll lose to the Bucks so that the Bucks can then have tag titles to wrestle against the Hardy Boyz rather than going after Jurassic Express because Tony Khan needs his Pillars (and the Bucks need their future pawns in Jungle Boy, although Luchasaurus is around by serendipity at this point). Also, I can't remember but was only the ROH titles going to be on the line? I heard something about the AAA belts too. Might as well just so the Bucks become the new de facto belt collectors so that they have their wet dream match against the Hardyz and probably bury them to after Jeff inadvertently can't go since he keeps doing swantons which look painful for him. At any rate, some people are speculating that the Briscoes will do a run in on Wednesday to start a new feud so that FTR will continue being the champs but i doubt it. I think FTR probably knew this would be their only chance to have this match and so they let it all hang on top of showing respect to their rivals. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bucks had some influence on putting this match low on the card just to ensure everyone except them got buried. No matter, it sucks ROH has to end this way. I guess the only thing Tony really got was a tape collection and maybe 2-3 wrestlers along with some extra titles. But if he wants to run ROH, he needs to separate it completely from AEW because doing these intermixed stories is just bad imo. Let ROH be what it once was which was a good spot for people to have decent matches and try to have its own sense of identity. No more stupid run ins, interrupted interviews, bad modern structured matches and other garbage that runs on AEW that makes it trashy. Let it be like how Punk described it where people can go, learn their craft and love professional wrestling. Keep it simple so that the spirit lives on.

Placement of this match smack in the middle probably had a lot to do with The Briscoes busy schedule last week. They also worked Impact's show that was in that same evening timeslot so they probably had to get back to downtown Dallas and couldn't go on later.
I don't hate the Bucks as much as Cornette does, but they get on my nerves. They shouldn't have interfered here. The match was so perfect
Gotta build to something. Can't be mad about no briscoes/FTR 2 and also be mad about them setting up another program

@MrAdmvp and @Lang gentlemen, you are both right and wrong. What I mean is that although both the YB and Reigns haven't had a TV match in a while, both are still getting at least 1, if not 2, TV promos every week. So yes, still being shoved down our throats. Anyone who knows AEW, should understand why the YB are always getting TV time. They have stroke with Khan because they are part of the "founders". I don't see that stroke ending any time soon. As for Reigns, I have never understood why Vince (or whoever) has always been so intent on him becoming the "face of WWE". Granted, as a heel he does his job. He's meant to irritate the fans. And he sure does irritate this fan.😁 But when he's been a face, he still was annoying and boring. Anyway, y'all have a good day.😎

Yep! It was ridiculous
Bucks vs FTR in dynamite was great. FTR clearly was leading it wasn’t as nonesense as most buck matches.
It was my first time seeing them in person, and good God are they small. They're talented, even if they feel kinda stale and over hyped. As one who is posting here post Brawl Out, this is one sad foreshadowing from Jim Cornette.

Yeah, I agree. I listen to Jim all the time but he’s way over-the-top most of the time with his thing. But that’s what makes Jim, Jim I guess.
The heel/face thing today still exists. But its a product of the live crowd reaction. The performers have to be good enough to change the match up on the fly based on the reaction they get from the crowd. And they were good enough in this match.

it will be the aew C show
We've already seen every AEW wrestler beat Jay Lethal on TV and Mercedes Martinez beat Willow. Yes, Tony's making it clear where his loyalties lie.
the ftr and bucks match was great
when they announced that Tony Khan would also be the booker for ROH, I got terrified.
If Ring of Honor going to be ran this way, then Anthem Sports & Entertainment (parent company to Impact Wrestling) on New Japan Pro Wrestling should have purchased Ring of Honor.
Yes all 1000 fans of ring of honor are devastated
