      Yeah I'm not going to lie when I first got it I didn't think it was turning either Nick. It just takes forever to do a full rotation I think it's like 4 hours. I've got a lot of videos up on these lot of little tips and tricks so if you have any trouble don't hes state to comment and let me know if you got questions. Suggestion... do not wash your eggs with cold water. Leave the bloom on. Use a scrubbing stone if it’s dirty. Or 800 grit sanding sponge if you don’t have a stone. Just my .02

      peltel2222 I thought I was the only one who didn’t wash the eggs. I get about 95 hatch rate with the still air and about 85 with the circulated one ( the fan) But I think it’s because I don’t wash them and put them on lock down day 18. Oh and mine hatch day 20. I paid 50 for both of the same incubators.

    OK, here is a very big tip. 3 days before scheduled hatch, usually day 18 prepare for lockdown. #1 take out the turner #2 fill up your extra water reservoir and & #3 place eggs on their sides in a natural position. try not to open the incubator til most chicks hatch, you'll find your egg turner will also clean up a lot easier too.

      I'm so glad the video was helpful definitely hit that subscribe button and keep in touch I would love to hear how the results turn out for you. I wouldn't worry too much about having too much water in there in fact I fill it all the way up because humidity is measured by surface area not the depth. So filling the ben up all the way we'll have the same surface area. But filling it up all the way will actually make it to we don't have to open it up halfway through and add more water. If you don't get the humidity to be exact don't worry about it mother nature is not always precise you'll still get good results I think. So don't forget to stop back in and comment how you did on one of the videos and I'll see the comment. As always thank you for watching and commenting.

    My friend made her own incubator with a heating pad, a box , and water. Its' working. She's hatched a ton. But, I have this one, and I am trying it out :)

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  4 месяца назад

      Yeah theoretically you can do that It's a little work but it's not always a proven strategy I've actually tried making one before and didn't really turn out the way I'd hoped. Results were not promising so I can the idea but I've done really well with this I think you're going to really like it. Remember it's not an exact science mother nature is resilient My best piece of advice I can give to you is at 21 days don't be quick to throw your eggs away that don't hatch give it a couple extra days sometimes you'll get a late hatcher. Thank you for watching and commenting

    The dot, line, and x methodology is a great way to track eggs for their success.

But also like to talk about travel investing food cooking about ready to start talking about New Year's resolutions. You want a better hatch? Don't wash the eggs!!! they have a protective coating that once removed can cause contamination to the embryo, if you brush them or clean them with a dry soft cloth and that should help your hatch ratio.

    Just curious is that incubator styrofoam on the bottom or is it styrofoam with plastic covering. I was planning on getting one of them I think from tractor Farm Supply

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  6 месяцев назад +2

      So the one you would get at tractor supply today is Styrofoam with an outer plastic shell. Styrofoam keeps the temperature in the humidity locked inside kind of like a cooler but the outer plastic shell prevents it from being dented or damaged. There was a time where the older ones were cheaply made without the plastic shell but they have drastically upgraded their product to give customers a better quality. I know I'm super happy with mine I have gotten two or three of them over the years at one point I had all of them running at the same time. Enduring a time like this of inflation It's an item that more than pays for itself in my opinion. When me and my son were doing it we would buy the incubator sell the babies to pay off the incubator and then we were producing so many eggs It was unbelievable. Down the road there's a chance that I make it back into this hardcore but right now I'm kind of trying to fix a plan to move to the country get a nice piece of land kind of settle down I have a belief that being in the city is not the place to be with everything going on nowadays. Thank you so much for watching and commenting I hope you have a great weekend. Keep in touch and let me know how the incubator does for you I love hearing people's stories still to this day. Having and hatching baby chickens is incredible It's a great learning opportunity for kids It teaches them about animals It teaches them responsibility and if done properly it can teach them about business supply and demand and entrepreneurial skills that you won't learn in public schools today. Have a great weekend my friend

    I just bought this incubator. Does the turner just tilt or do the eggs actually turn over? I'm hatching quail and they are tiny so not sure this going to work.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  Год назад +1

      It pretty much just tilts. They actually have a special Turner for quail eggs but it's not something you can find at the store for the most part you have to buy it on Amazon, or online. I've never done quail eggs but it would definitely be cool to try them out I may look into something like that. I still got my incubator and I have a special quail egg turner but I don't know anywhere that has quail eggs that are fertile. I guess you would know fairly quick if it would work during the first turn if they don't roll out it'll probably work it'll just slightly different timing. Good luck Stephanie and keep in touch I'm curious to see how it turns out for you. Thank you for watching and commenting.

    last night we didn’t know but are heat was stuck on heat and didn’t turn off like it should have so the room was super hot and the incubator temperature got up to 106 do you think that would hurt the chickens but it was only 106 for a couple of hours

    • @TsquareTalk

      kimmy case that is 1 I dont know. if it was just a fue hrs 106 may not have a problem. In the wild it can get to 106 in the hot part of the day. check the water in there extra heat can lose more water and that can be a problem. let me know what happens. I love getting comments.

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  2 года назад +1

      I don't know if I said that in the video yeah you never want to watch your eggs. Even if you're going to keep them to eat I would not recommend washing them you could wipe a little dirt or sand off if you get anything on there but I would not wash them. There is an ultra thin protective coating on the eggs. You can see this coding when the egg first comes out of the chicken if you pick it up you can literally put your fingerprint on the egg. It's going to feel kind of sticky. Also though that protective coating will make it to where the egg does not have to be refrigerated so you can literally keep the egg on your counter until you're ready to use it. I am not in the food industry so I'm not a professional but I have kept eggs on my counter over 4 weeks without refrigerating them and then turned around and ate them and there was absolutely nothing wrong. After I looked into it come to find out most countries don't refrigerate their eggs in fact the US is one of the few countries that do. • @TsquareTalk

      It really depends on the climate and the time of the year I have tried to leave them in the house until incubation day so I could incubate all at the same time and I had a lot of them go bad when it was summer time. During the Spring fall and Winter then I have not had problems. But I'm in Texas and a gets pretty hot in the summer and not really got cold in the Winter they will sit on them naturally in the hottest times but there's no way to make them cool off when it's super hot out. Usually one page where I talk about my thoughts on silver Sunday and how it is today. It cost very little to do and it could save someone's life or change their life down the road. I have a belief a time will come we're an American silver eagle will buy someone food for a month maybe not steak and lobster but some decent food. Those holes are actually put there as a quick and easy way to raise and lower the humidity. They come with but it's easy to lose the Over time. Thank you for watching and commenting Billy.

      Yes any kind of chickens work great in the incubator It doesn't matter what kind of eggs. However if you're going to do quail you may want to use the smaller egg trays this will allow you to put more in there and less chance of them breaking. Thank you for watching and commenting Jose.

    Hey bro how humidity you set at Last three days thanks

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  5 лет назад

      First add more water in the bottom. If you have the older model Remove some of the center eggs for a minute and pour some water in the bottom. If you have the newer model you can inject the water right into the side filling both water trays. The extra water will add more humidity. Try for about 65. A little bit high or a little bit low will not hurt anything the magic number I go for is 65 for best results. If it starts going up really high really fast pull the red plug on top, if it continues to go up pull both red plugs if it starts going to low make sure the plugs put back in. Thank you for watching and commenting any questions that you have feel free to hit me up. And please subscribe as we are trying to grow the channel and will have a lot of updates as the spring chicken season starts.

    Why is the humidity staying around 44 is that ok don’t know how to make it go up

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  6 лет назад

      kimmy case Depending on where you are and the time of the year will effect humidity levels. As long as your temperature stays at 99.5 and you have water in their more than likely you'll be fine when we 1st started doing this we was nervous to make sure that we got it right unfortunately not all your eggs will hatch we have found that during summer months in Texas we have better results in the Winter months we don't quite hatched as many as we hope and as we do in the summer. I will try to get a new video up on this topic this week.

    How often do I add water ?

    • @TsquareTalk
      @TsquareTalk  2 года назад +1

      I generally just add water at about the halfway point you should even still have water in there at that point that just seems to be the time that I do it because there's plenty in there but I don't like to open it when it gets closer to the end of the process. But as long as your humidity is in the area you'll probably be fine. The problem is so many people are in different parts of the world or the US that the weather climates are so different some areas just naturally more humid than others whereas some areas are drier than others for example if you're on the coast like me the Gulf of Mexico there's a lot of humidity in the air around me which means it does not take its toll as much on the incubator and the humidity level. However if you're in a dry area like a desert you will need to fill it maybe even a little bit more to make sure that humidity stays at the right area. Thank you for watching and commenting please don't forget to take a quick minute hit that subscribe button I should be putting a lot more videos up on this topic however I do have multiple videos in a playlist that you can find if you go to my homepage. James Ritchie If you would like to try it again and pull it out of storage. I would love to help you set it up and walk you through it it. There's a lot of factors that go into hatching chickens. I'm starting a series right now talking about all of the different factors from how to get your eggs to types of eggs you wanna collect to best hatching I've used mine and got as high as 38 out of 42 hatch.
