Man i hope he gets better before RG. Will be tough even for novak without enough matches on clay
Well said Amy totally agree with you get better soon Novak ❤️❤️❤️
I love your comments Amy- really kind!!!❤
Thank you 🙏🏻
I am so glad to hear what Amy said. Most of media were saying that Nole was using the bottle incident for excuse. Gill, please remember that Nole is very sensitive, especially when it comes to his body. If he wasn't feeling normal on the court, I am sure that he was concerned (he said in post match interview that it's concerning) and it affected his performance. I was surprised to hear that he didn't have a proper check up after the incident on Friday night. I can't believe that no one suggested it. As Amy said head injury is very serious. I have a similar water bottle by Waterdrop. It's heavy and if there's some water in it, it's even heavier. I tried to hit my head with it and it hurt! Imagine that it fell from 2ft (?) above on top of the head... and Nole wasn't even expecting that. I really hope that he will be alright and is able to play well at RG. 🤞🤞🤞
Sucha good comment!
I have a Waterdrop bottle too. Very heavy… insulates amazingly well
"I was surprised to hear that he didn't have a proper check up after the incident on Friday night. I can't believe that no one suggested it." - Those are clear signs that the injury wasn't that serious.
Yes. Great analysis from Amy and agree with your point. Also everyone's bodies are different. Nole has quite often struggled with conditions lately, and adding another issue when you are trying to play at such a high level is no joke.
They should apprehend the man who dropped the bottle. It may look like an accident but he man may have planned it for harm. He may have bent over with a loose water filled bottle in his bag, expecting it should slide off and fall on Nole’s head. This should not be ruled out especially if the man involved is discovered to be a disguised Nadal or Federer fan.
Novak has done medical tests at the hospital today, let's hope he gets better soon to prepare for Roland Garros.
Collective trauma for attack on Monica Seles . Novak remember that event . He was six years old then .
@@aleksandarfrick2656 You can't be serious, right? Monica Seles was stabbed with a knife! How can a normal person even compare this to a water bottle being dropped on someone's head? Jesus Christ...
He’s got the results back Any was wrong what do u know he’s perfectly fine- it’s over time to move on
Totally agree with Amy, head injuries you dont play around with, and I'm so surprised they let Nole play after that hard blow to the head. This hit most definitely impacted his game against Tabilo, you could tell Novak was not playing like Novak, easy win for Tabilo.
Dont think we'll see him at RG.
Novak?
Great analysis, thank you so much.
Thanks Angela!
I'm back here after the results of Novak's scans are out
It's been reported that there's nothing to worry about and he's absolutely fine
Hasn't suffered any damage in any area of his head
Great news!
@@amylundy8664 Amy I've criticised your analysis in this very comments section(you might or might not have read that by now) But I've got nothing personal against you (why would I even?)
I love you and you're a great analyst/expert. Hope you don't take my criticism otherwise.
Thanks.
Spot on Amy!
You are a very compassionate and intuitive person.
Concussion or not, what happened to Novak was very traumatic, especially considering his experience growing up in a war zone and knowing what happened to Monica Seles.
Thank you, Three for a great video!
Thank you 🙏🏻
He didn't actually grow up in the areas affected by the war. That's a myth that his cult likes to repeat. He and his parents were nestled away in the suburbs while the bombs were going off. His career was financed by the worst aspects of organized crime and Serbia's dictator.
there's no evidence Novak or his family ever saw war. His parents helped finance it, sure. But to act like he experienced the "trauma" of that conflict is delusional
@@dylandrogba9723how did his parents help finance it?
@@Jalleur14325 dad a big Milosevic supporter. Do research. When the bombings were going on, Novak’s dad was taking him to train in Germany, US, and Italy. Look up the “high interest loans” that were taken out to finance his career early on. That’s organized crime.
I cannot believe Amy tied getting hit on the head with bombings in Serbia and childhood trauma from that. Why would one assume that would be his first thought in getting hit? In her ongoing effort to portray Novak as an eternal victim, she connects two unrelated events. What next? Anytime he gets hurt unexpectedly, he has flashbacks to the bombings?
All she needed to say is that maybe getting hit on the head like that would impact one's performance and concussion protocols need to be followed. That's it. Not armchair psychological analysis.
she could be correct, Only Novak knows how he felt she has every right to her opinion and she expressed it.
You actually do sound like an armchair psychological analyst, arrogantly saying that you know what she needed to say
I mean, at this point we know how it works with his fans when Nole loses a match. But this about the bottel and the ptsd...this is another level. 😮
Amy has always been a Nole dickrider, it's not surprising at all that she'd go to that extent, like some lunatics Nole-stans on twitter.
and Joko didn't get any bottle in the head before Nardi match but he played similarly -as Gill is touching -is Amy a concussion expert ...🤔 it's concerning the no fight joko has this year come on 👋
I am not enjoying the tennis these days. Reason could be big 3's absence.😒
Same here but I know it’s an unpopular take since people love Carlos and sinner
So am I since no that kind of big 3 any more in the tennis world 😢
I wish more people watched your videos ... always appreciate and agree with your educated takes!
Im sure the bottle incident did have an effect. One can literally see the difference in his game against Moutet and Tabilo.
And Novak refused an experimental drug at the cost of legacy. He could've potentially won 2 more grand slams and multiple other tournaments. He sacrificed that. And people think hebwould make an excuse cos of a bottle. Also he has always praised his opponents whether they make a great shot on court or if they beat him. If he says he dient feel well, he didnt feel well.
Yeah the bottle also fell on his head before the nardi match
@@raghu2390 what? Nardi outplayed him. It's simple as that. You are one of those haters who spend their time making idiotic comments like the one you made here. A player's loss of form is clearly indicated by low serve percentages and high percentage of double faults and unforced errors.

Well-said Amy. You are spot on with this.
🤣

@@dylandrogba9723 you have a bad case of Djokovic Derangement Syndrome
A full metal water bottle would be about 1kg. A direct hit to the top of your head with no warning is pretty nasty. It certainly could have been a factor to the loss. My theory though is his issue is motivation. Novak is doing all the things in preparation that have worked for him in the past but i don't know if he has the same fury that brings in adrenaline. All through his career he's thrived on the need to prove a point. He's always chased Roger and Rafa. In 2023 he overtook Rafa, leading by 2 majors and is the only man to have 3 of all 4 majors. Interesting how Novak lost the day after Rafa lost in both Rome and Monte Carlo.
Personally i think Novak's goal should be Wimbledon not the Olympics. Wimbledon has always been the premier tennis tournament and Roger holds the record for most titles of the premier tournament. Novak can equal that record with another win in London. True tennis lovers don't really rate the Olympics as a tennis achievement.
That definitely has to be a goal! Good point!
You can tell Novak looked weird and pale at press conference.
To all people who say he is pretending, you are sick with hate .
Guy who attacked Novak was seen at soccer games pushing agenda!!!
Curious… what agenda…?
Still waiting for you to brief us on the agenda this fan supposedly has? Until that is confirmed, maybe he was just one of us, a Novak fan who had an ill-timed unthinkingly clumsy moment? Anyone with a modicum of empathy would think, there but for the grace of God go I.

I agree with Amy.
I hope Rafa is competitive in RG for him to enjoy and us too.
Right- I want him to go out healthy and fight hard!
Agree! 🙏🏻
He would have experienced head trauma, especially considering what had happened to his idol Monica Seles. Who knows if he had thoughts of malicious action?
💯
Good point mentioning Monica Seles...
Bro are u fucking crazy????!??
Monica Seles was stabbed!! Have some respect for the way in which she was taken away from us.
Getting accidentally hit by a bottle from 3 ft doesn't compare to a fucking stabbing!
My god some fans are crazy
Ooo what's happening the the Spotify upload? There was a really loud shouty advert at the beginning that made me jump! Can you take those off before uploading please 🙏🏻
Spotify puts them in unfortunately
sorry Amy, maybe you are right, but didn't Novak lost a lot of matches this season without being hit by a water bottle?
Gill, to you now. what is your power-ranking now? because from what I see, my favorite for RG at this point is Tsitsipas. What are your thought?
at this point in time everybody should stop to wish Rafa to win anything and rather enjoy him just to play and compete, no matter the outcome. you might see in the future better forehands then Rafa's, but you will never see the Rafa's forehand anymore. So let's just enjoy while we still can.
As someone who has had a serious concussion and has some knowledge on the subject, I agree with Amy that we should wait and see. Roland Garros starts in 10 days, so Novak should have better insight by then.
I would also think the change in his team is also affecting him. Having spent so many years with Goran and team and winning so much, cant be easy to adjust to a whole new team. It might be that he wanted Goran to be with him but if Goran was the one who wanted to leave, thats would definitely have an 3ffect on his mental state.
12:57 We need a Geneva 3️⃣🎾 show!!! 😃😃😃
Hoping Rafa can be ready to put it all out there and do some damage at the French. In 2022 he only played five clay matches before R.G. and also lost in his second match at Rome, so crossing my fingers, but as Joel and others have mentioned, it feels like a Que Sera, Sera situation.
Yes it does ✨
28:20 Zverev has entered the chat 💀
The biggest problem of Novak in this season is skipping too many tournaments. Can't you believe that he only played 15 official matches from Jan to French Open and it is absolutely not enough to find the rhythm and momentum for his game as well. In my opinion, he should have played both Dubai and Miami and only skipping Madrid.
Possibly true hwoever, recently novak has had a smaller schedule which has seemed to work as he is winning everything 😂 Scehdule size has not been an issue in the last few years, this year I imagine his biggest issue to be lack of motivation or time slowly catching him. Although an injury is always possible too.
@@sssbbb4762 Novak cannot get find his rhythm and momentum by only play 2-3 matches and then take one month off. That is true for him in this season and he might not be able to win any GS in the rest of the season by this way.
Novak wasn't training properly this year . He needs break too .
excellent recap by all. I agree with Joel, I hope rafa has a healthy match either way. What can they do at RG as a send-off for such a champion -- the king of clay, the king of RG. For Novak, I dont think they should sign autographs from below like that in the 'tunnel' --- what if something heavier were to fall? sign those only at the ground level, dont try to reach and grope one story up. Im suprised something like this did not occur already.
😮
Totally agree
Really good point!! 📌
Yeah, basic health and safety stuff.
No way to tell for certain how much the bottle incident factored in. Only thing you can do is see how inconsistent was that scoreline from Novak, are there are stats that show anomalies, and is there any stats from his opponent that support him playing well or was it due to his opponent being bad. If he faced a QF or SF level player with that score line it would be consistent with Novak. Of course he has lost to Norrie or the other British guy a few years back with a similar scoreline but I believe Novak was a lot more competitive. I'd lean to yes, but who knows, lucky this was not a major
The other data is simply what he says and the symptoms he reports.
@@amylundy8664 Nowadays that will get your branded as a "sore loser and taking away from your opponents win", even half of Novak fans don't think the bottle incident had anything with the loss.
Seems everyone is hyperventilating... I wasn't so sure at first either. If the bottle was empty, I intuitively wouldn't think it might have been too bad of an impact, maybe smarted pretty good. But if the bottle was full, that's a pretty good bit of weight at 9.8 m/s². And he said it bled a lot, so he sustained a cut. A cut like that to the top of the head can bleed a lot, and it can be difficult to get it to stop (don't ask me how I know). Even if he may not have sustained a concussion, that loss of blood and some amount of shock to the CNS, can throw you off and takes some time to recover from (again, don't ask me how I know).
Amy, Novak nor anyone in his family ever saw war. Stop perpetuating that myth. His parents proudly financially supported their war effort from a distance while they were hiding away in their little Serb suburbs. To act like that water bottle gave him PTSD flashbacks is utterly insane
The problem for Nole now is that if the incident was the cause of his poor performance, than I would guess the medical checks and some rest period combined with lack of matches, is going to pose a serious problem for his rithm. Rafa is in a kind of similar situation, he would have loved to get two more matches in Rome (and the field turns out to be wide open) as preparation. I think Rafa will play, Nole will play too, but both will be in a tight spot and quite in danger in the first rounds.
Rafa in much more danger because of being unseeded. He may get a dangerous player round 1
Guys in Miami if you want water they give you a metal bottle. Why? I understand plastic may be toxic ….. but there are so many other delivery system than a metal bottle. They should ban that
I mainly use a glass bottle with a silicone sleeve that is sticky and tacky. I’m praying that they don’t tell me it’s toxic 😆
Happy Mother's Day Amy! RafaNol-24 in Roma: Early exits most disheartening. Like Gill's point about Nole's flat tactical response at end of 1st set - again Novak does not look like Djoker of 2023 so far in 2024. Think that metal bottle really bothered Novak-concussion-mental focus-disorientation. Rafael & Novak just didn't have it. Age? Fear? Lack of Tourney Court Time? Novak now has 3 or 4 2024 matches where in pressers after he said he just didn't bring it and played poorly-by his own standards. Focus + Mental game off - maybe physical conditioning as well. Rafa looked uneven & movement a bit slow in 2 rounds-compared to Madrid. They will be back & bringing it - let's see what unfolds in RG-24 & Olympics play. Thanx Joel, Amy & Gill. Still bringin'0IT in 24!!!-THREE-The Tennis Show :) Cheers, Milan

@@amylundy8664 🙏👍🌈.
Yes, Novak certainly didn't have a good start of the year. But his pre-Tabilo match in Rome and today's ATP match win 6:3, 6:4 show really huge improvement. As for Rafa, I think easy early draw in Paris would really help. I do believe he could play even on higher level, like SF if he could ease into it. They both certainly need more matches to play - so let's hope for the best.
@@yanair2091 Here's hoping for the best! :)
@@amylundy8664 - RG_24 Preview coming? Maybe??? :)
Novak might be too confident in his adjustments' ability and he forgot the lesson in year 2022. In fact, practicing without official tournament is never enough for professional player and your body might not be able to catch up the opponents so far.
They were speaking Catalán or Mallorquín but not Spanish.
Makes sense. I speak a little Spanish and could not get it. Thanks for that. She’s Spanish, so she got it 👍
I think Gil made a small mistake about Nadal's draw. In these 96 player draws, Nadal was guaranteed to play someone ranked lower than #32 in the first round, because the top 32 seeds get first round byes. In the French open, everyone plays in the first round. Since there are 96 non-seeded spots and 32 spots vs. The top 32 seeds, Rafa has a 32/96 or 1/3 chance of playing a seed in the first round.
Still huge difference from Novak, for example. I saw Novak playing Haffenman (or something). The guy is ranked around 37 - and yet he's quite an opponent. Huge and precise serve, strong forehand and excellent drop-shotter. Novak played excellently and won 6:3 and 6:4. But I don't think Rafa would have very good chance to win. The field is apparently full of such kind of young players.
With the news Djoko is negotiating an appearance at Geneva, looks like Gill was right.
@J_O_R he’s not playing
What is Genebra?
Amy I agree with you. Concussion but also a possible Trauma reactivation, Knowing a bit of psychology , trauma is a deep psychological wound that can be triggered and I would think a childhood of bombing for 2 months in his childhood would be a deep scar. He already admitted fire works can affect him, Hope he is ok,,
I just can’t imagine being a public figure who is always having to be on guard- being caught by surprise like that. Very tough.
Except Novak never experienced war. Or at least it's never been proven
I repeat Rafa should go to RG in slacks, a dress shirt, a racquet in hand and some signed balls. He hits the balls in the stands, takes the plaudits of the crowd and bows out graciously. No speeches in funny English, no catches in the voice, no tears, just smiling waves and a good bye.
Playing brainless and loosing 6-2 6-3 is rather good
As usual, Amie is rushing to Novak’s defense.
Amy is a certified nolefam😂 I wonder if the poor bottle will be the reason if Novak won that match😅
Hello guys, do you think Rafa might get Lenglen instead of Chatrier on any of his possible matches? Thanks
Of all years, no. They have to manage the crowds and meet demand.
@@amylundy8664 Makes all the sense, thank you🧡
@@amylundy8664 Right 100%- throw in the fact this looks to be Rafa's last time at R.G., and there's no way he won't be on the biggest stage there.
After winning 14 RG titles, he earned to play at the biggest stage for a lifetime.
Amy is not a doctor- she didn’t examine him, she didn’t speak with him, she doesn’t know anything about the bottle that hit him - she’s just searching for answers like his fans and Novak himself. Sure we can’t rule anything out but it’s also unfair to speculate and say this match doesn’t count what ultimate disrespect to Tabilo. Especially considering the yr Nole’s been having- every loss is simply excused away as an outliner because he’s Novak. She’s a fangirl who we more harsh on Rafa who faced a top 10 player. Newsflash GOaTs can also have bad seasons too!
I agree, Amy just speculating wildly here.
Novak clearly said in the post-match conference he didn't feel well, describing symptoms that are associated with a concussion. It's like getting hit on your leg, saying your leg hurt, and someone still claiming it has nothing to do with getting hit on the leg.
Also, Novak's only eleven months younger than Rafa, so it's not impossible that Father Time is also starting to catch up with him now and he could lose to a Tabilo at least partially because of age, even though few will mention this. There's not a big 5-6 year gap, as was the case with Federer.
Disgusting and asinine comment -ignorant beyond belief. You have no idea about head injuries or concussion and the effects there- off. you obviously have Djokovic Derangement Syndrome.
Exactly, she’s been spinning excuses for months now. Speculating with such confidence as well, I didn’t realise she is a fully qualified head trauma specialist. Zero cop on either that she’s putting that hapless fan in the firing line for not just this loss but further losses too. Already numerous attempts to doxx him.
“I would just throw the match out entirely.” - Spoken like a true shill for the only one of the “Three” to remain competitive.
There’s NO MENTION of whether Djokovic went through any concussion protocol or concussion testing at all, or whether a concussion was even suspected by his team. There’s NO MENTION of how well you could expect a player to play if he had incurred a concussion, mild or not. I mean, the guy agreed to play the match, right?
This “injury” is just so frustrating, and also so unproven.
Djokovic has been flashing warning lights of a lack of motivation ever since losing at the Australian Open. Hasn't made the finals of a tournament yet this year. Parted with Goran just before clay season. Gill did a great video breaking down all the signs of lack of motivation in Djokovic's play in this last loss.
Unproven. Exactly. Just like Novak supposedly being in war torn situations
You may think that my comment is weird, but here it comes: you see only 3 dimensions of reality, while there are much more. During these turbulent times (wars e.t.c), people like Novak who can make masses feeling realy good (=vibrating high) when winning, are targets for attacks of „darkness”
maybe not so good vibrate too high then ...🤔
My guess is Nadal will withdraw from RG & end it with Olympics & then Laver Cup. That's the sense I get having watched his matches so far in the clay season. He knows he's not going to be competitive with the top tier players, especially in best of 5 sets.
Yes I tend to agree, he has the shots of old but as weapons they seem blunted. Not sure if that’s age related or injury related but it was hard to watch in the last match. Maybe he can turn it around for RG but I’m doubtful.
