Hey Jay! That store you played the Dumble at in Montreal was mine (Boutique Tone). Miss it like crazy but always nice to hear people mention it. Great video, as always.
That place was something special man. Your message brought back some wonderfully nostalgic memories from my year in Montreal. Thanks for writing and I really hope to see you sometime soon 👍
Hey Jeremy, I visited your awesome store back in ~2008...it was so cool! I remember seeing your Dumble Overdrive Special...but was way too intimidated to try it! I purchased a rare Maven Peal Howler overdrive from you which was on my board for years! I also remember some blingy Telecasters from Italy...possibly Gigliotti’s? Just a fantastic store...hope you’re doing great now Jeremy!
@@rselp Hey! Thanks so much for your really kind words. It means so much to me to hear from people and your memories of the store. Sounds like it was a Gigliotti Tele you mentioned - those were amazing. And that Howler really was something special. Thanks again and hope you're doing well!
I own this pedal and can concur: It's bloody awesome. It doesn't feel like an OD pedal, it feels like an amp. My deluxe Reverb, changes completely. It doesn't layer a new sound on top of it. It changes the entire response characteristics.
Dude, I used to make pedals. Went to NAMM and all that, big achievement. I wish I had you to make demos for me back then. I've grown tired of all the guys who make demos now (except for Pete Thorn and Shawn Tubbs) but I think your videos are the absolute best! Don't stop being awesome!!
Great demo as always, but I think you got the comp switch backwards. I just got a Gladio recently. To the left it’s more compression, and to the right it’s less compression. Or am I crazy?
Sweet demo. JLJ, you did a nice job showing the key features and sounds in just a few minutes. The "operating mode" toggle switch that the Cornerstone folks use is a great feature. (Gladio arrived last week, and it sounds even better "live" than on computer speakers.)
I don't know. His positive persona and great playing and good demonstrations of the gear should mean he has triple that of idiots who goof around on video, terrorise exhibitors at events & are generally sarcastic.
Billy Wagner there you go. Plus constant ads. There’s so many mediocre players with tons of subs that they truly don’t deserve. And it’s getting old. Jay has been a great player slowly building his subs with great playing.
You have to be one of the most interesting players to watch on the 'tube." You pull out some very unexpected stuff every time! Great playing and demo. I could seriously, really put this pedal to use.
just ordered aLYR Gladio, double-version, trimming inside, 71 €s!!! just to try, alrady in love with my peds : just to thicken the hi 2 strings if possible, had the Boss Od1x: after all too digi, had the DOD Looking Glass: thickened the his but kinda overcoated my before it peds, as well as , well it just layed an overcoat to all the strings like made them old and stiff feeling coating over my other peds sensitivity...
Well dang, I was looking at the Tone King Duelist for a killer blues pedal, the Gladio sounds like it will do everything the Duelist will do and then some !!
I love the Duellist but wound up selling it. I now own the Galdio and I can attest to how amazing it is. It’s the real deal. Sold the Protein too, which was great but doesn’t beat the Galdio. The only double overdrive I didn’t sell is the King of Tone, is well, it’s a King of Tone and does something a little different but because of this one I’ve been considering selling it! It would be a sad day but the money would be nice haha
hmm i noticed all the demos were on the humbuckers on both guitars. I think this pedal does bring out good blues tones on the single coils too from other videos i have watched :)
Why'd you do this video for???? I just ordered one yesterday...should get it Monday. Can't wait... Everyone's right, your videos are fun to watch and I always want to play guitar after watching them. Thanks dude...
My dream-unobtainable-amp is my old, early seventies Vox AC30TB which I had for thirty years until someone stole it (amung other stuff). I love AC30 amps, but that particular one sounded better than any amp I've ever heard or played. It still hurts. Sure, I could try and find another, but it will never sound as good as my old one. It had something special. There was a warmth to it that I really only ever heard in that amp. And I think the original speakers were a great part of that sound. Man.... :-(
That sucks! The emotional bond a player has with some gear can be significant to the level where it's like someone stole your dog. No two are the same and they are part of your family! 30yrs of ownership and someone just robbed it! Shameful stuff. Alnico speakers (silver) in that amp? I wonder would a Matchless or a Morgan amp come close to filling the void?
Steve D ;It probably would atleast to some extend. I’m not sure. Money is a huge problem in this case, because I just can’t afford a good Matchless, or anything in that ball park. And yes, the speakers. Alnico silver. These speakers moved a lot of air! I know it sounds silly, but this happened six years ago and for atleast two or three years I couldn’t help crying, literally, when I even just spotted an AC30 on tv. And still to this day, I’m affraid I might find my amp back again (actually, it were two AC30’s, the old one and a new one, including flightcases). I wouldn’t know what to do.
Heartbreaking stuff alright to have an amp like that stolen. I’ve spent a lot of time with a late 70’s VoxAC30 with silver Alnico speakers and those speakers in that amp have some magic to them. Umm, maybe a hand wired ac30 with Celestion Blues would be close to vintage AC30 for less money than the Morgan or Matchless. Hope you find something suitable to fill the void!
Steve D ; Thanks! That's so kind of you. At this moment I use a Vox AC15 with a Celestion Greenback. Someone was kind enough to just give it to me. I'm very grateful for that. Off course, it's not the same, but it does have that typical Vox sound that I love so dearly. :-)
I have the Gladio, the Emporium and the Colosseum... I just can't get along with the Colosseum at all...the Gladio and the Emporium are both excellent pedals... Also check out the Demon pedals Kondo Shifuku D-Style for dumble sounds...awesome pedal...
Just said the same thing in the first comment about the Dumble ODS! Isn’t that amp the best amp ever made...Super simple layout, sustain for days, ridiculous tone, and the best looking, beautiful wooden enclosure. One day, I’ll own a Trainwreck, even if it’s the newer models that’s fine with me. That’s my long term goal in life lol
@@JayLeonardJ Hi, I remember that store on St-Laurent Blvd. Not too far from there, Moog audio has a great selection of boutique pedals. I really liked your video on Canadian pedals. I also love my Rosie fuzz, made here in Montreal.
Yeah I hear you... The real point here is that the Gladio is not even meant to be a generic Dumble in a box.... It's a Robben Ford in a box. That is the sound it's designed to replicate. This is a very important clarification in order to really understand the Gladio...
@@D1TemplarKnight hi, that's perfect, the Duellist is a great pedal. Just very different since it's TS/Bluesbreaker based. So you just probably needed a sound like that instead of a Robben Ford Dumble kind of sound... Btw, they work greatly together. Infact I have a Duellist on my board, together with the Gladio they cover pretty much everything I need
You’ve never dealt with the revival drive. This is pretty simple. They’re all really not that hard. It takes awhile to learn how to set pedals and amps up.
I don't think I've ever seen anyone enjoy playing guitar more than you. Keep rock'n!!
What a thrill it is to watch you play! Your enjoyment is palpable and your skills are offside. Awesome; thx.
Really appreciate it!

Maybe he's doesn't want to pay for subscribers like some RUclipsrs do.
Or maybe people came looking for wacky facial antics, but were annoyed that some distracting guitar playing broke out. ;-)

Hey... Jay, That's a pretty cool pedal you got there man :0)
Everytime I see one of your vids I think PBS 😂. Beautiful set and lights👍
Dream amp: any one that I don't have to haul around myself!
All of those people that just casually splurged on two dumbles are really kicking themselves right now.
👍🤣🖖🏼😁
Where would you put an amp simulating pedal in the order of the pedal chain?
I'm just here to watch Jay play.
Dream unattainable amp: Trainwreck Liverpool.

Yeah, FUCKIN' correct.
I thought I’d love this but I did not sorry. The best dumble pedal imo is Shin’s.
I had high hopes too, but sold it in a week. Van Weelden Royal Overdrive, Ethos, Wheebo Dumbledore and The Dude are my favorite D style pedals

There 4 anis. The top one is a Benson amp idk what model.
