Brake Light Stopper was worn and feel apart. Replaced with after-market stopper from local store.

Wow, got to place I was going and saw lights weren't going out and went right back home and pulled fuse as couldn't get them to go out... did notice a piece of plastic on floor as you note and couldn't figure out what if anything it was to. Thank you!

The black rubber piece is easier to get in, but what I found was that after a couple of days the switch had made such an indentation in the rubber that it was able to fully extend even with the pedal up. I am going to use the plastic piece instead but it is so difficult to get in there.
U get it in? Woulda said to use some lube. Lol. Jk Jk.

Only the black piece fitted right when I bought it and it stayed on I first installed the white piece but it kept falling off as I drove , I’d find it on the floor.

I just had to do my clutch switches and never again. I ended up super gluing a dime as a stopper so I'd never need to do it again

If you wanna save some money, get a few pennies and jb well it in place. CB7 and Del Sol cost me about 5 cents. Learned on my CB7 then replaced that with a free Del Sol and the same problem happened. I'm all about saving money.
p.s. you never have to fix it again. I'm all about that also.
When I used the rubber black one, it worked for about a week and then the problem came back (brake lights appear on, with car off) . The black rubber piece becomes warped or bent in a depressed fashion, and stops pressing the brake light button after a while. I'm guessing it got too heated
I was wondering about that, it's too soft, it wears out I would assume. Did you use the other piece instead? Or maybe it would be a good idea to reinforce the black piece by gluing a penny on top of it or such
Was wondering that also... couldn't get the plastic one in but the rubber one went in easy. may try to take a bit of the tip off the plastic one so it'll fit.
Currently replacing the rubber one with the hard plastic one because it's stopped working
So I just bought a 93 Del Sol and it had the brake warning light ON. The first thing I did was to put in some brake fluid and that made the warning light go away. Two days later, it turned back ON. I checked everywhere and there weren't any leaks and the brake fluid was still at a good level. What do you think is keeping my brake warning light ON? Does it have anything to do with the cap or the sensor beneath? Help me out, thanks!

It's called pedal bushing and pedal stop assortment.. part 74015. They sell them at your local O'Reilly's. That's where I just got mine. Good luck
