Hi Ashley, nice video. We lived in Taif for 5 years, ( in the 80's) and would venture out to Shoyiba about once a month with friends for some scuba diving it was an awesome experience. I am glad the reefs are still somewhat pristine!! thanks for the video. Michael
Thank you for cleaning up the beach ❤️👍 The government even introduced a brand new security branch Alamn albeye (environment security) for such an act like littering or disturbing the wild life. I always encourage my friends in every trip to clean up the area and make it better than before, its the least thing we can do back to nature 💕. Im so happy you guys enjoying your time in my country 🇸🇦❤️. Your videos are so entertaining to watch! If you guys ever needed anything in here just don’t hesitate to ask 🌹🌹
This video is a great! We've been quite a few times and love it, glad you have this video to share with others. Also, I feel so relaxed after watching, thanks for the music and beautiful scenery!
Anywhere on the peninsula north of the Petro Rabigh compound is great - goo.gl/maps/6EDGSi2wpzrHKCnA6 Although the coast guard is sometimes not allowing overnight camping these days, so it can be a bit hit or miss to camp there now.
Hello there, I m jealous of your trip to the Red Sea, I’m a Saudi , lived in Seattle, Washington. From 1976- 88 , my memoirs are not far from what you are going through. Trust me- you will have the best time to chorus these moments with your family & children. Love 💕 your beautiful Videos . 🙏 please do not stop giving us more- 🇸🇦🇺🇸👍😎
Amazing reefs ! That is what I remember of Rabigh, Yanbu and Jeddah. Saudi has some of the best diving in the world. When did you film this ? I was there last in 2018.
@@EricAndAsh Nice lagoon with sandy peninsula can be worth to visit. But we didn't go there coz we found red sign in Arabic and we didn't understand what it says so we were not sure if we can go there. Maybe I'll find picture of it. Did you meet coast guard while camping?
We usually see the coast guard, but usually haven’t had any problems. Just a few days ago we camped in this same spot with no issues but the coast guard did come by the next morning to ask us to “check in” at their building at the end of the peninsula before getting in to snorkel.
@@EricAndAsh that's good :) We wanted to camp near ship wrecks south of Jeddah. Then guard came while we w swimming and we had to leave. They even didn't know we wanted to camp there. Then we had to drive 4 hours during the night and had to find hidden place to camp :D But I really would like to come back there and explore coast, there are really cheap flights from Europe now. Be prepared to a lot of foreigners coming😀
I heard that you live in Jeddah in another video so maybe next trip me & my wife could join on a 2 car road trip together. I'm planing for one in a couple of months probably heading south to Jizan and discovering nearby islands & hidden beaches with some off-roading while heading north.
It's one of our favorites. Anywhere on the peninsula north of the Petro Rabigh compound is great - goo.gl/maps/6EDGSi2wpzrHKCnA6 Although, I think the coast guard recently stopped overnight camping and perhaps snorkeling due to new COVID restrictions.
Hi very nice video. May I know if you went there with tour guide or only by yourself? The corals are beautiful seems like it is in depth water. Did you just grab your snorkeling gear and and start from the beach or boat required?
We usually go by ourselves. The water is very deep - probably 20 meters or deeper in places, so you should be a good, strong swimmer if you go. We take our own snorkeling gear and walk out from the beach.
It's about 200 meters or so. Usually the water is shallow enough to wade out most of the way, but having good water shoes are important - but don't step on the coral!
@@EricAndAsh Thanks for the heads-up. That goes without saying, so sad to see so many people doing so when the corals are the reason we breath. Do you know any other spots to snorkel for free without a boat?
@@hikefinder From what I see on google, those spots look to be further out and would require a boat. We've always just snorkeled from the shore there. We haven't done any other shore snorkeling in the area - we've been up near where NEOM is, but that was a few years ago.

@@IrwinBaldivia I would be very careful. They've recently graded the road out there, so it is much better than it used to be, but there were spots where the road was washed out the last time we were there. I've had to pull cars out of the sand before, but I also know friends without 4x4s that go regularly.
Anywhere on the peninsula north of the Petro Rabigh compound is great - goo.gl/maps/6EDGSi2wpzrHKCnA6 Although, the coastguard will now sometimes ask you to sign in if you want to snorkel and/or camp. Anywhere on the peninsula north of the Petro Rabigh compound is great - goo.gl/maps/6EDGSi2wpzrHKCnA6 We usually can just go right in and snorkel, although, sometimes the coast guard may make you drive up to their coast guard stand at the very north of the peninsula.
