Big respect Esham held his ground in this interview. I believe everything he said and wish things could have worked out better in the grand scheme of this business.
I'm disappointed in this interview. As much as I would like to BLAME the interviewer, I believe that Esham didn't give this talk a fair shot. I've watched it twice, here's what I noticed: 1. Esham seems a little tense in the beginning of the interview, he gave no eye contact with the interviewer. You can hear in his demeanor, and his tone, that he wasn't very thrilled to be at this interview in particular. (This can be validated as the interview goes on). 2. The interviewer starts off with basic factual information about Esham, and let's Esham explain his upbringing and early career. During which, he doesn't give detailed responses to any of the questions by the interviewer. This makes it more clear that there is some type of bitter tension during this interview. 3. Esham randomly begins speaking on, "Culture Appropriation," and "Protecting Hip Hop, and Detroit." From OUTSIDERS. He is clearly speaking to the interviewer. We can confirm this by Esham addressing the interviewers background, and making statements such as, "You're Chaldean, but you're doing interviews in Detroit. That's like me going to Israel and being a part of the Middle Eastern culture." Esham CLEARLY has a distaste for the interviewer. He also throws shots at Eminem during this statement. 4. The Interviewer offers Esham the opportunity to END THE PODCAST permanently if Esham wishes. Esham back pedals and steers towards Eminem. 5. The interviewer seems to see this Eminem discussion as "False Bait" and moves on to talk about Esham and his career more. 6. As the conversation continues, the Interviewer makes a miss-step and changes the timeline of the conversation to Esham's current project, "Purgatory." 7. The timeline of the conversation gets thrown off, which is most likely do to the tension and disturbance from the "Culture Vulture" Conversation. 8. The interviewer brings up the Eminem situation, in which Esham keeps stating, "You would have to ask Eminem what the problem is." 9. The interviewer has enough information to state that Esham should know what the problem is, but Esham instead plays around with the topic, until Esham realizes the interviewer is well-informed about the beef. 10. They exit the Eminem conversation, in which Esham and the Interviewer have now both built tension between each other, and Esham leaves. I think that Esham had preconceived notions about this interviewer, which made him reluctant to speak in depth about any matter, I also think the interviewer could have done a better job navigating the conversation when it came to the Eminem situation. This could have been a great interview because clearly these are 2 intelligent men that just couldn't find common ground. I will be releasing a video next week on my main page to get further into detail.
E an OG bro these new cats don't know what they are talking about. but I do agree i don't think dawg interviewing did nothing wrong, they probaby aint chop it up beforehand, thats why joe rogan be going out to dinner with his guests before interviews so they can feel each other out
As a native Detroiter born and raised on the Westside that meet Esham ( I'm 6 months younger than E at 50 yrs old) back in 1987ish and is a True Day 1er, if you didn't grow up in Detroit or know about how there wasn't a rap scene in Detroit back then but mostly Flint and Saginaw and experienced how Esham was BLACKLISTED by Urban Detroit radio stations how they record stires kept his tapes and CD's hidden or behind the counter but was pretty much the catalyst for a few white rappers (ICP, Twizied, Kid Rock to a certain extent and most definitely Eminem who bit Esham's style) that got more respect and love from Detroit than E did then you don't understand the struggle and how Esham never got his props until way later on in his career. And I've noticed it's newer fans, probably anyone under 30 yrs old think they know what's up doe are the worst ones of an Esham fans. Esham has a reason to be in feelings.
I’m from cross the river in Windsor we had a group of 50 dudes that pushed esham on everyone in the streets in the Early 90s .Wicket shit will never die .down since day 1
Saginaw checking in. Esham was notorious as soon as shit came out. His shit scared everyone. He was the real rap Boogeyman. As a metalhead his shit resonated with me since I was just a boy.
I grew up in Roseville, and I definitely heard Sunshine on the radio. Record time was always promoting Eshams albums, and I had every one of them. He definitely had struggles, but I don't know what you're talking about being shelved?
I'm Scottish and know that Esham is a Legend in Detroit and a rapper and D-12 would talk about alot. That's how I became a fan off the back of them.showing love.
734 IN THE BUILDING ALMOST THOUGHT THIS WAS A BREAKFAST CLUB INTERVIEW FROM THE THUMBNAIL😂. BUT SO GREAT 2 SEE ESHAM DOING INTERVIEWS SHOUT-OUT TO KID L!!!
Esham kept it real. One of the best ever self-made artists under the national radar. E-40 based his game on that.. Dudes like brotha lynch hung got paid off it. Esham was rap. Devil rap (natas), acid rap, then Bruce wayne?! The dude was a pioneer like Kool Keith.
Yall remember Esham when he said, "I'm a 7Mile ridin' Benz glidin' big bluntin' ain't no future in yo frontin!" And "Girl you fly but you aint that fly that you can't say hi when a guy say hi!"
WHOOP WHOOP, Esham is the Man. Tells em Straight and Keeps it Real. Much Love Homie, and Purgatory is the shit. Loved how you combined rap and metal, acoustic and such. Keep it Up, Love ya.
Gotta say, some of these youtube interviewers need to start either getting slapped or put in their place. You got this guy bringing up the shit with D12 from a LONG time ago and trying to get Esham to feel bad or admit to being wrong for his lyrics. Then at the end low key asking E "how does it feel to have fell off nowadays?" The other day ICP was on No Jumper and the one dude Wack something or other brings up Tech N9ne to ICP and they tell him how they've known Tech for over 20 years, but the guy keep interrupting them and trying fill them in on who Tech is, as if he's introducing them to who Tech is for the first time.
It's crazy how ESHAM nowadays just seems & sounds like a normal guy. I mean, this is Bruce wayne, the multi KILLionaire muthafuckin Acid Rap Pioneer ESHAM the unholy! We're talking about over here...🤷🏻♂️ when I was a teenager, I thought ESHAM was a vampire n sh!t....
Alot more could of been said, How natas actually formed in the early days, Would Reel Life prods make a comeback? James Smith (deadboy) influenced him , Would E and mastamind work again? , and is there unreleased TnT tracks from the suicide bomber album which never dropped
Correct fam Esham has probably sold the most records independently out the trunk in Detroit and the whole Michigan, maybe the United States 😳 and he taught everyone the hustle out hear no cap
I'm from Mississippi, I found out about dude back in 2011 when I was looking up "Horrorcore" on Wikipedia and his boomin words from hell album was on there. Been a fan ever since
Yes dead flowers was the GREATEST ALBUM..... until his next album..... ESHAM is one of maybe four artists that can somehow make an album that is only topped by the next album they make....
He used to be on Murderdog Mag all the time doing interviews and he even had his own monologue like series speaking on the history of the 'wickedshxt' , I think when he was using the "BenYen" monicker 🤔💭
I thought this was an Esham interview, whyd you keep asking him about d12?? Not 1 question about Natas the entire 51 minutes? Do some research before bringing on legends
My first wrap tape was booming words from hell I bought out of a trunk from some guys on 7 Mile and Lasher. Esham is still the man always will be the man and I still live in the hood too my man so I see you all the time and every hallowicked .
I tell you something funny back in the days the artist who were on major labels used to laugh and try to clown independent artists when they didn’t own their music
I like Esham, but I think he took a chance to battle Eminem instead of work with him. Eminem said, "I'm a cross between Manson, Esham, and Ozzy." Saying Esham was an influence/part of his style... I didn't understand Esham having beef over that. He could've made such a bigger impact if he would've took it how it was said...
In the song Kill You, Eminem also said "I ain't acid rap, but I rap on acid. Got a new blow up doll and just had a strap-on added" and he took that as a diss.
Quality interview, big bless for Esham, that’s a man that helped define a chapter of Detroit and the wicked shxt

Its an honor to have protested the summer jam in the 90s Gotham City to rockin mad shows to banging ur music since the 80s! Homie don't play! Boom words! The red tape! Erotic poetry! And still dropping 🔥 🫡
Love ESHAM - hes the reason I got into rap at a yung age and he's always held down the D frum the get frfr --- love to see u gettin sum shine bruh preciate the interview
Esham said "I dropped out of school at 16 and got paid" 🔥 that's what we did too 😅
This the Reel Life legend !!!
Esham influenced a lot of artists worldwide not just regionally. Esham should’ve been a bigger artist with a bigger machine but he found his footing in the underground and is the Godfather of the wicket shit
Peace to E and James for all they have done for the industry
Those who know , know
💯
Uk Reel Life livin, E been my main influence, happy to say i made a beat 4 him and worked with mastamind
@@DIRTBOYS that's what's up I did tracks with him and mad live shows even protested the radio station with him in the 90s
Finally some one gives ESHAM his flowerz for being a creator
The interviewer sucked and kept asking him eminem this and eminem that. All the wrong questions
‘I don’t really care what they say about me… circums of insanity, no therapy…you so selfish!’
🔥🔥🔥 🙌🔊🎵💯
I was given the opportunity to see Dark Lotus and Esham on tour back in 2008 at Hollywood, Ca. I was a teenager back than.
Big respect Esham held his ground in this interview. I believe everything he said and wish things could have worked out better in the grand scheme of this business.
Yea but esham made a lot of money underground no doubt he’s not hurt money I bet ..
@@MichaelThomas-yt9zk for real tho,
There is a big difference between a direct sale "physical" copy purchase and a "digital download" 🤔 💯💯💯
I'm disappointed in this interview. As much as I would like to BLAME the interviewer, I believe that Esham didn't give this talk a fair shot. I've watched it twice, here's what I noticed:
6. As the conversation continues, the Interviewer makes a miss-step and changes the timeline of the conversation to Esham's current project, "Purgatory."
7. The timeline of the conversation gets thrown off, which is most likely do to the tension and disturbance from the "Culture Vulture" Conversation.
8. The interviewer brings up the Eminem situation, in which Esham keeps stating, "You would have to ask Eminem what the problem is."
I noticed that too. Very tense. Esham must have got paid to be there or something cause he wasn't tryna talk about nothing.
Esham has the right to feel how he feels about KID L. That's why Kid L offered to cancel the podcast if Esham wanted. He knew Esham was right.
E an OG bro these new cats don't know what they are talking about. but I do agree i don't think dawg interviewing did nothing wrong, they probaby aint chop it up beforehand, thats why joe rogan be going out to dinner with his guests before interviews so they can feel each other out
agreed

Show the love but please don’t show your kilt
734 IN THE BUILDING ALMOST THOUGHT THIS WAS A BREAKFAST CLUB INTERVIEW FROM THE THUMBNAIL😂. BUT SO GREAT 2 SEE ESHAM DOING INTERVIEWS SHOUT-OUT TO KID L!!!
Esham a straight up Detroit LEGEND!! 🫡💯
Is a pioneer
I've never seen esham this hype in an interview
He mad
That jacket dough 🔥🔥🔥
Classic Esham
Yall remember Esham when he said, "I'm a 7Mile ridin' Benz glidin' big bluntin' ain't no future in yo frontin!" And "Girl you fly but you aint that fly that you can't say hi when a guy say hi!"
you better ask sumbody
4 Sure!
Mc breed was doper than esham by far

One of the greatest rappers of all time. Insanely underrated outside of the Midwest.
Most Definitely He Pushed And Moved So Much Underground It's Crazy 🤪
WHOOP WHOOP, Esham is the Man. Tells em Straight and Keeps it Real. Much Love Homie, and Purgatory is the shit. Loved how you combined rap and metal, acoustic and such. Keep it Up, Love ya.
From the streets of Motown where rock n rock started ... " 😎
The RITZ in Roseville!!
Early 90’s sham rocked that place. Good times!!
Gotta say, some of these youtube interviewers need to start either getting slapped or put in their place.
You got this guy bringing up the shit with D12 from a LONG time ago and trying to get Esham to feel bad or admit to being wrong for his lyrics. Then at the end low key asking E "how does it feel to have fell off nowadays?"
The other day ICP was on No Jumper and the one dude Wack something or other brings up Tech N9ne to ICP and they tell him how they've known Tech for over 20 years, but the guy keep interrupting them and trying fill them in on who Tech is, as if he's introducing them to who Tech is for the first time.

17:07 that was powerful asf. What a legend. E is such a Detroit legend real asf
shut the f up, talkin about business and he ain't got no money...
This interviewer is a lame. The interview took a turn when this guy was defending the big streaming services that don’t pay artists anything
Alot more could of been said, How natas actually formed in the early days, Would Reel Life prods make a comeback? James Smith (deadboy) influenced him , Would E and mastamind work again? , and is there unreleased TnT tracks from the suicide bomber album which never dropped
A lot more... from 88 - 96 Esham had a wonderful run
that was PEAK Esham era

Kidd L took a grown man L in this one. You don’t disrespect the Legends Homie.
Esham a true legend. 💯 "I'm where u got ur style from"
Eminem may be the highest selling artist out of Michigan, but Esham is clearly the most influential.
Correct fam
Esham has probably sold the most records independently out the trunk in Detroit and the whole Michigan, maybe the United States 😳 and he taught everyone the hustle out hear no cap
Shout out to Rock of Ages in Garden City MI. Where I picked up all my Esham albums back in the day
Rock of ages is the shit. I’m out in Oregon now, and really miss going there.
I miss getting my stuff from there too!

Just saw them up here in TO too. Obie, Kuniva and Swifty killed it. They even shouted Esham out smdh.
Respect to my homies D12 that beef been over with
Rip Big Proof there would be no Eminem without Big Proof period 💯🙌🏾💯👑🕊🙏🏾🙏🏼🙏🏽
Yea esham is just lying about that shit.
Esham somehow had a decent following in the South, especially during the Dead Flowerz era.
I'm from Mississippi, I found out about dude back in 2011 when I was looking up "Horrorcore" on Wikipedia and his boomin words from hell album was on there. Been a fan ever since
That RLP jacket is 🔥🔥 E always dressed clean as fuck .
This is that guy. I want that old thing back 😂. Love it . Love how he calls out punk ass ass backwards artists.
Dead Flowers is my favorite album of ALL time! This man is a legend!🎉
Yes dead flowers was the GREATEST ALBUM..... until his next album..... ESHAM is one of maybe four artists that can somehow make an album that is only topped by the next album they make....
These artists have stated they were influenced by Esham… Em,Kid Rock, Icp,Marlyn Manson, Korn, NIN,Hopsin,
I didn't know that Marilyn Manson, Korn & NIN mentioned Esham as an influence.
My pops wouldve loved this interview
Can’t believe it. I never saw Esham do an interview before.
He used to be on Murderdog Mag all the time doing interviews and he even had his own monologue like series speaking on the history of the 'wickedshxt' , I think when he was using the "BenYen" monicker 🤔💭

I grew up on Esham and Natas. We were petrified of the "Red Tape" at first! 😂
Lol that "red tape" is a collectors item now some going for around $600

Give Esham credit for bringing the Detroit sound

My first wrap tape was booming words from hell I bought out of a trunk from some guys on 7 Mile and Lasher. Esham is still the man always will be the man and I still live in the hood too my man so I see you all the time and every hallowicked .
Been waiting on him to speak his facts!!! Let em know E!!!!💪💪🔥🔥🔥fire interview
I fucking love Esham, god damn it
Crazy respect for the DETROIT Goat!!!
I tell you something funny back in the days the artist who were on major labels used to laugh and try to clown independent artists when they didn’t own their music
That's crazy when you think about it.
💯
We need more Esham interviews… classic content.
Speaking of Esham not being here about flowers...Dead Flowers was amazing
Indeed
Esham schooled kid 🫡 E much luv - Detroit Music Awards winning podcast of the year!
A whole legend
The King of Rap Horror Core 😎
I like Esham, but I think he took a chance to battle Eminem instead of work with him. Eminem said, "I'm a cross between Manson, Esham, and Ozzy." Saying Esham was an influence/part of his style... I didn't understand Esham having beef over that. He could've made such a bigger impact if he would've took it how it was said...
Beef sales
Shut up
In the song Kill You, Eminem also said "I ain't acid rap, but I rap on acid. Got a new blow up doll and just had a strap-on added" and he took that as a diss.
I agree with you here. Dude needs therapy but will not admit it lol the hate is so obvious. Nobody needs to hate that hard.
Guess that Esham/Eminem track ain't comin any time soon... gahd dammit.
Esham is the realest Detroit rapper
What a dope azz interview. That's my G. Inspiration to make music myself ✨
