    The only way for Montreal to draft Silayev at 5th without having a riot in Montreal, they would need to also get a Ignila or Sennecke at the same draft. If they only get Silayev at 5th, the réaction could be worse than after drafting Reinbacher !!!

    There's a few options Habs have before they decide who they will pick.
    1) A trade to acquire a top 3 or top 6 forward that surely include a left or right defense prospect such as Mailloux, Xhekaj, Hugues etc... and the first round pick from Winnipeg plus maybe a bit more...
    2) They trade their 1st round pick and a prospect for an established top 3 forward
    Then might consider selecting a right defense if they trade Mailloux.
    Big puzzle, very exciting!

    if you take reinbacher at 5 last year while passing on michkov and youre already conceding david isnt going to be a number 1, thats an epic fail considering how loaded this draft is with potential top pairing dmen.

    Who was Lindstrom playing with in medicine hat? Was he on a line with McKenna? If so did that inflate his production? McKenna is probably the closest guy to McDavid. Factoring that and his back trouble, I think I'd just grab Senecke, the Hands, size, Physically and scoring at the end of the season and playoffs! He'll dominate the OHL next year. No one will question the pick in a year or 2 when he's crushing in our top 6!

      It was quite a surprise for most fans when Montreal picked Reinbacher last year, however, I don't think there will be any problems this year if Montreal draft Sennecke since he exactly fits what Montreal needs on their top6. Indeed, most fans presently expects Lindstrom, Iginla or Senecke...but Montreal could still get Demidov if he drops at 5th because of all the good defensemen available in the top4 !!

    • @mjlee7059

    The good thing that might benefit the habs is all teams from 2 to 4 need defense desperately and a centerman but demidov might be to good to pass up for these teams though michkov fell to 7 and he could be a star but all consensus is that demidov is better so fingers crossed for demidov at 5 though on the chance he is still available at 4 I could see the habs trade up to get him. Personally Id be happy with demidov or lindstrom, lindstrom would be a good back up plan if dach keeps getting injured. Who knows they could pick one of the great d-men available and make a big trade for a forward giving away one of their defense knowing he'll be replaced. Pretty exciting draft coming up no matter what the outcome im looking forward to it.

    It will be very interesting if Silayev is available at 5. If they grab him, it would certainly make Guhle expendable. As Hutson and Xhekaj would compliment Silayev quite nicely.

    • @FooFahFoeFum
      @FooFahFoeFum 26 дней назад

    • @mikepouliot3630
      @mikepouliot3630 26 дней назад

      @FooFahFoeFum you're right he is the best. However Hutson and Xhekaj bring something different that neither Silayev or Guhle have. Since Silayev is projected to be a top dman whereas ad Guhle is more like a 2. This leaves Guhle as a legitimate trade bait to get us a top forward. Struble or Harris won't get us a top 6. Mailloux is a right shot. Not trade bait as we don't have depth on the Right.

    I fear they drafted Reinbacher expecting they would end up lower in the draft this year and not be able to draft a high RD. Now they have to draft a forward but they might be stuck to draft another RD.
    Which is better:
    Reinbacher + possible RD
    Reinbacher + lower tier forward (if demidov, lindstrom are gone)
    Or
    Leonard/Michkov + high RD?
    We'll see.

    My fear with Russian prospects is that if the situation over there just gets worse, I would not put it past Putin to stop any young players from coming over indefinitely, or frankly any player no matter the age.
    Also, the flat cap is now a thing of the past and I think it's disingenuous to compare the teams that won doing a full rebuild vs the teams that still lose doing a full rebuild, when the examples you gave before where Chicago, Pittsburgh, Tampa... They didn't just win, they won multiple times and are the closest teams to dynasties in decades. The cream of the crop have all done full tear it down rebuilds and all had amazing 1-2 punch obtained at the draft. It's not cherry picking to look up to the ones that did it best multiple times. I dont' know man, feels like more than a flash in the pan. If we see the Sharks slingshot past the Habs in the next few years... well, I hope the next administration gets the message that time.

    I weirdly agree with Arpon. If they are stuck at 5, draft the D. Left or right hand, too much 1st pair D potential in the D. They are young, amd could easily trade a young D for for what they need in the future. Or even now they could take advantage of pld doing so horrible, and get him 50% retained for a yound D

    Well.#'s 2, 3 & 4 are going to be Demidov, Levshunov & Lindstrom (pending medical evaluation) in any order. Levshunov will not get past Anaheim and Columbus (as dysfunctional as they are) needs a C. But will Not pass on Demidov.
    The order is not as clean & clear as 2022 but the talent is. So Iginla, Catton, or even Senneke ...? Silayev does not fit MSL game. Catton is same size & style as B Point. And same weight as Kutcherov. And if Iginla is even close to dad ... He'll do just fine
    Yakemchuk & Parekh play a style that the whole team needs to 'adjust' to. And we have Lane.
    Silayev is a freak but might be a lonely fit(style wise too) .. the London bridge would be redundant.
    Ya if Levshunov is there, we will take him.. but no LHD
    If Lindstrom's medical looks weak .. then everything resets
