I put this on my table saw, band saw, and jointer in June of 2023. This stuff works as advertised IF you put it on properly. People need to understand though that it won’t prevent rust if you let water set on it AND DRY. If you get water on it but dry it off before it can dry then it’s fine. I live in lower Alabama where it is extremely hot and very humid and my cast iron surfaces look awesome still.
Just a note, maybe it’s just the camera, but your application pad looked a little black as you were applying the Carbon coating. If so you may not have cleaned it thoroughly after the scouring. You want to clean it thoroughly until your rags are coming up clean.
    Best of luck.

Hi Choprpilot, Yes the Carbon coat is great stuff. It's been 11 months, and it is still protecting the surfaces from rust. The black you are seeing as I apply the Carbon Coat is the actual Carbon Coat. It is a dark grey (carbon colour).

@@DarrensWorkshop oh ok, cool. Like I said, maybe it was just the way the video made it look. Great stuff, worth every penny.

    Darren,
If you wouldn't mind... if you have a bit left over, I would be interested in taking two identical saw blades and leave one 'as purchased' and one with the coating... what I have in mind are tool (not machine) surfaces that frequently rust over time, but which don't experience a great amount of wear (not talking about the cutting edges). I'm thinking comparisons with bandsaw blades, jointer blades, etc. I realize we're talking apples-oranges here (iron vs. alloys), but I'd be interested to see how it performs in these roles.
    Jim

Hi Jim, Sorry but since I upgraded my table saw, I don't own two saw blades, just the one ripping blade. Also, I plan to use what is left on my jointing plane, which has had to suffer along with kill rust paint.

Is it still working now and how often do you have to re-coat? I am in Queensland and my table saw is really suffering with rust so I need something that lasts

Hi Chris, I only used the bottle I was originally sent, there was enough in there to do my table, saw twice and my jointing plane once. So far I haven’t had to reapply anything on either surface and they are both rust free.

Perhaps you should have left an area unprotected, for comparison purposes after your test week.

Hi Mike. Maybe, but I just couldn't bring myself to deliberately let my beautiful table saw rust.
