Had to buy two pigs again after my first pair mysteriously vanished when I took them out of the truck. Then I find only one, dead, at the other end of the ranch.

So you keep the breeder pigs in the barn, males one side females other side?
Then when female is pregnant, put her outside to have the babies, wait for them to seperate from Mom, and put Mom back in?
If they can breed at 1 day old, but cant tell the gender until 8 days old, how do i seperate them early?
I over populated for the video. I typically build a barn with 8 stalls, and buy one male one female. Once they have mated, I separate them into stalls. Once mama gives birth, I immediately place the babies in other stalls to prevent more mating before I'm ready.
Wait so you can put trouth out of the stalls and still be able to feed them in stall from a distance? Sry got confused
Yes you can. Each trough has a range on it, so I wouldn't put it too far outside of the trough, but you can put it on the outside of the fence and they will be able to feed from it.

Why do you have different fences off areas? Can I just put all the pigs together?
You can, but then they will tend to overbreed and then you have a pig apocalypse. I had those off areas to put pregnant pigs to await the babies so then I could separate and name the babies. Now, I just keep all my pigs in a barn and only let them breed when I want to. It helps control the population.
thank you for the helpful video 👍 i feel like i've encountered a bug of eternal pregnancy for my female pig i bought from the general store -- i never watched them breed but i feel like it's definitely been 4+ days now and the pregnancy icon isn't going away :/
It does depend on your time settings, if you've changed them at all, it could be longer/shorter.

Males can only mate with one female a day, but that's probably for the best. Having a pig-splosion can lag your Ranch significantly.

All Ranch Sim animals (except for dogs and cats) eat bags of wheat from the General Store. You can also build a granary and fill that up without leaving the ranch.
One thing my pigs give birth to more females than males like i normally get 4 females and 2 males
It happens that way sometimes. It's just chance.
@@UllyriaRaeLeigh nice vid tho really helped out some people make tutorials on ranch sim that are incorrect like this one person said the larger the pig the more babys but i tested that and a large pig gave birth to just two babys funny how pigs in the game can get to the size of a full grown female dairy cow
One last thing in my opinion pigs are the best animals cause they have lots of offspring and there meat sells for quite a bit.
@@senadafry2750I'm glad the videos help! It does help that I'm part of the community team, so I work very closely with the publishers and can pick their brains for accurate info. Pigs are my favorite animal IRL!
@@UllyriaRaeLeigh final thing what i do on my ranch is i bring in a male from male pen into female pen then let them breed bring back male then when pigs have babies i bring them in to baby pen male and baby pen are 6 fences away from female pen.
