This is a great video, carlin is an incredible athlete.
They should clarify he plays 7's rugby, not the main form of rugby (rugby union). Yeah they're similar but it's like the difference between ice hockey and field hockey you need completely different skill sets
7's is the more popular variant in America.

Sure, but for the rest of the world apart from perhaps australia union is the top dog. I think i even remember the rugby world cup was the 4th biggest sporting event on earth after the olympics, fifa world cup and a few others
Yeah, but in union often you need strength or height or so on to be a forward which is more than half the men on the field of rugby union. Try put up a team of union front rowers against a 7's team and see how they face, or likewise a team of 7's against a union team. Skills/attributes are different for each variant
