    • @0hn0haha
      @0hn0haha 8 лет назад +32

      John Stuart ...The uniforms too, are simple and elegant.
      Just because they're not blood red and tackier than a footballers mansion does not mean they are generic or boring. The uniform in my opinion, is simple, not abnoxious, yet the dark blue fits the somber mood and is the Preobrazhensky guards traditional color; and the gold accents on the belts and braids remind one of a simpler time when men lined up to meet their fate and deal out death, but at the same time learned poetry and music to woo their sweethearts at home.
      It's simple and elegant.
      IMHO.

    From Britain to Russia.
    We are ever thankful and respectful to the brave men and women who died fighting the great evil of nazism. The cost of such sacrifice was immeasurably great but it saves us all. We may have our disagreements today but I hope we can get past such petty squabbles and remember when we came together and honour those who fought an d died so we may live free from the shadow of the Reich.

    As a US Army veteran, I find the behavior of the civilians very disrespectful. Regardless of ideology, that soldier that is entombed there died defending their nation. I doubt he died for Premier Stalin or the Communist party. At our Tomb of the Unknowns, the Sergeant of the Guard admonishes the crowd to be "silent and standing" as a sign of respect. Considering the vast majority of citizens in the former USSR lost one or more relatives during WW2 I would think they would contemplate who might be buried there.

    I'm not so much against the idle chatter or informal behaviour of the public, unless it's the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, but why are those GRRRR! people laughing EXACTLY when the guardsmen change march whilst traversing the steps? Is this some kind of joke to them? I'm not against laughter, but there's a time and a place for it - this isn't one of them. They have to change the march style in order to ascend/descend the steps safely. Anyway, sorry for the anger, I really enjoyed watching this changing of the guard. Going on to watch other ones.

    Much more simple than the changing of the guard in Washington D.C.
