@NE_ UK come back to the fun group, lol. You can also find those wonderful old 20 Minute Workouts on here, which are also so much fun and so effective. 🎉
Fun fact: there was a study about a year or so ago that I saw, I think on the news, that this form of exercise is more beneficial for your heart tendons and lungs than the recent popularity of cross-fit/ HITT workouts. Basically 80’s workout videos!
Not surprising! Her book, then album and video delivered me from following in the footsteps of an obese family, and from diet pills and bulimia. I ended up teaching her workouts as a teen, then became a trainer for 30 years. 😊 I'm 53 and still use these myself.
@@yukineko5135 Yes, I saw something similar. I think it was an article on Yahoo. Basically, they said, doing the HITT - going to the extreme - can give you a heart attack. For me, it never felt right. And it plain old wasn’t any fun. But, the truth is, every few years there is a different opinion about something that’s opposite of what they’ve said before. This workout stands the tests of time. Remember doing it back in the early eighties and it is a very diverse, safe workout without stressing any joints to do now at age 65. Thank you Jane Fonda!
I have tried almost all Jane’s workouts and all of them are absolute the best out there. The best part about Jane is even though this was famous in the 80’s and body positivity was not a thing back then, Jane NEVER preached a certain body figure. She always focused on how much muscle strength a particular exercise gave and how an exercise can ease tension in the posture etc. I used to do this with my mum in the 90’s and her workouts are still relevant. I am 35 and do it often and I’m sure my daughter will add this to her memories. Jane’s work is so good it passes through generations. Just love her ❤
Hello 😊the first time I played aerobics with Jane, I was 15 years old in 1987 until I was 24, and my figure was like Jane fonda, but now, 2023 I gained weight I'm between 55,57, what a coincidence that I saw her again..😊 I'm so glad to play aerobics with her again ❤ to bring back my ideal weight again (50). Well no need to comment on figure when no one is overweight. The 70s and 80s were prior to the US food pyramid and big agricultural companies that pushed it, which started causing people to balloon in weight. There was no real need to be an "ideal" or a particular body type because most people just were by default. And yea, her workouts are amazing.

In all its cheesy delightfulness, I would think it's become somewhat of a collector's item at this point. Those outfits with the leg warmers, the synth music, and a vibrant, in-shape Jane Fonda, are iconic 80s Americana. 👍

I bike to my university classes half of the week (which ends up being roughly 15 km) but I've started doing this on the days I don't go so I can maintain leg/heart/lung strength and also work out the rest of my body!!
OMG to be able to do all her workouts again! Did them all and was in the best shape of my life! Gave me a great foundation for lifelong fitness habits that have served me well.
These are the The best videos ever recorded. It was not about money like the fakes that we had since. She had the best professionals working with her to offer this video. Work of art! The best of the best. Ever! It was not about money. She really wanted to share the secret of her great shape with the rest of us. I love Jane Fonda. She is what I call a trustworthy person.
@stayinalive7546 She protested against the Vietnam war and got lots of hate for it. All the Vietnam vets I know also were against the war and agreed with her principles, even if they didn’t always like how she went about it. But lots of people (many whom didn’t actually go fight in the war and were happy to “support” soldiers by justifying the conflict) still hate her for it 🤷♀️
I can't believe that i still remember the instructions and the songs!!!! This was my favorite when I was a kid! So glad someone uploaded this! Getting back to the basics. Aerobics rocks!
Flexibility is up and I modify where needed. I did this with my sister and mom as a teen and now at 45, this is the workout. From someone who knows how to guide and instruct. I really love the full body plus arms. Never leaving ❤️
Jane Fondas workouts are THE BEST! These workout videos of Jane's stand the TEST of TIME. Really Good! I love them, and used them in my life. Was really effective and fun. I Love Jane Fondas Workouts & remember the Valerie Bertinelli look-alike there! 👍
I used to workout to this video 30 years ago! Working many hours a day sitting at a desk has caused issues with weak hips and I'm sure this routine will help. I did both the beginner and advanced and am pleased I can do most off the moves (just a bit more slowly!) I think I'm going to try to fit this in a few times a week along with my resistance training.
This is nostalgia. I ran home after work because they were showing aerobics with Jane Fonda on TV.. In Russia at that time it was the first aerobics I had ever seen in my life.. I have lived in another country for a long time, but I still remember the feeling of festive Shock from these shows ..
this workout reminds me a lot of my floor ballet training I used to do in my ballet school, because it combines strength moves and stretching during exercise, this makes your body strong and lean, without building bulky muscles.. perfect for women . love it.
I tried this thinking ye right it’s older and outdated I’ll conquer this 🤣 ye right! This is thee best cardio workout I’ve EVER done! Jane your amazing! Total body and good luck getting through it without at least one break. I do this a few days a week, alternate running days and weight train and I’m very happy with my individual results ❤ This workout works!
@@DebraRiddle-bt6vs I third that, lol. I used to love step classes at my old club, and Cathe has so many that are just as tough, and some that are even more challenging.
Omg, I loved these videos 🤣🤣 I remember I did this video and her step aerobics one and lost 50 pounds I would do them everyday. 🤣🤣 that’s was 22 years ago😳
OMG. I did this workout hundreds of times when I was about 15! I think I could still sing along to the instructions today. I was an athlete and I got a real buzz when Leslie picked it up at 9:35. This workout made me feel like a heroine! Besides really working my cardio, I believe it also gave me great coordination, strength, stretch and self awareness.
That's so wonderful to hear. I did this daily in high school back then as well, then taught this class at school. Amazing workout, I'm loving doing it again now, at 52.
So much nostalgia! I was just nine or ten years old when I first did this workout! It was my first workout video ever and I still reminisce fondly about it to this day!
I used to do these exercises after the birth of my first child. I managed to lose weight. Now I’m in my late fifties, I will do the exercise tomorrow see if I am able to do it again.
The cardio might be a bit intense, but you can always modify to make it low impact, etc. The basic exercises here are amazing, they work so well. I'm 54, started doing her workouts when I was 13.
This was HIIT before HIIT was even a thing! I love how graceful and in control their movements are, wil def try this one out! Edit: I came back a couple of days later to try this out and barely survived trhu the first 15 minutes of the beginners section. My ankles and my toes took a great impact, maybe you do need leg warmers and a good pair of tennis shoes to do this ( I did them barefoot). Also, for real beginners I recomend not jumping so much and try low impact versions of their movements ( she does have a low impact video too you can watch to see the variations). I'll add this to my routine mabe 2-3 times a week until I can complete both programs.
I do the aerobic warm-up no impact and it works just fine. You also can do more squat-like motions and leg extensions type movements instead of jumping up and down. Deffo get some good shoes and do it preferably on a wooden floor.
I am doing it barefoot, it really worked your entire foot like nothing else. It takes some time to be able to it. It’s amazing how they do jumping without getting any rest and also singing 😅
omgggggggg this is SO nostalgic for me! My mom had this on VHS, and I use to workout to it everyday when I was like 7. I thought they were dancing lol had no idea I was exercising. HA! I've always played a sport, worked out, and lived an active life since then. I feel so much joy watching this hahaha
I did this 5 days a week as a teenager. Her workouts are why I have a 35 year career in fitness. 😊 I love using these for quick exercise breaks throughout the day. I do one or two sections on their own. Keeps my energy up all day.
You are so so right, I do 10km by fast walk to and from work every day plus exercises, jogging, etc. I love it! Tomorrow, I will jump with Jane after work.
I did this over and over and over when I had the video! I can actually remember it still, all these decades later. If only I still looked so good in leg warmers xx thanks for uploading
Did this in the 80’s, 90’s, and in 2010! Loved this workout! Definitely worked too! Thanks so much for posting this! Will start again so I can cover all the decades!
I was in my early twenties in about 1983 when i arrived in America and started doing this video 2 or 3 times a week. Aerobics hadnt yet arrived in the UK. It was so American with their whooping and cheering (so very un English LOL) I love this workout video, brings back some great memories of my time living in the U.S when i was young and fit 😅
I remember my Mom doing this workout when I was in high school. I thought it was so funny! I'm 53 now, and I never go to the gym. I only use workouts on my DVD player. I guess my Mom had a bigger influence on me than I thought!! Thanks Mom¡ ❤

I did the Jane Fonda workout video religously, even right through my pregnancy with my son who was born in 1982. That one was different to this one, I didn't know she did another workout. I'm so glad i found it, now i can workout again to this and relive some very happy memories :)
Lol, she did over a dozen workouts over the years. You likely did the original video, released in 1982. This was the followup, which addressed some of the criticisms of the original and added more aerobics to the workout. 😊
I'm not a big fan of huge tvs but I'll admit I'm a bit jealous, lol. That would be a blast. I think our big living room TV back then was 24 inches, lol. And it seemed huge! 😂
Did this one in my 20s. It was fun and effective. Wish I could still do it today. Now, after knee surgery, I’m reduced to chair aerobics in my living room
Knee surgery should not mean you're relegated to seated exercise. If so, you should sue. Knee surgery requires some recovery time but people should be able to return to normal activity, that's the whole point of doing it. Also, if you modify and eliminate the brief aerobics segment, this should all be doable once recovered.
I loved this workout. Recently learned that she never made a penny from the sale of her videos. All proceeds went towards protective environmental policies. it made me love Jane even more.

In all its cheesy delightfulness, I would think it's become somewhat of a collector's item at this point. Those outfits with the leg warmers, the synth music, and a vibrant, in-shape Jane Fonda, are iconic 80s Americana. 👍
Beginners 1:00
Advanced 34:04
Thank u I was confused
Oh thanks!!
thanku!!
Thank you! ❤
This workout changed my life for the better back in the eighties. I literally do it just by listening without looking
I'm going back to these workouts. I've had a couple of injuries with these modern day hiit workouts.
Watching and lol’ing. In the 80’s I wore this tape out and purchased another, I lost a full stone approx 7kg’s. It’s later on a Saturday afternoon now BUT tomorrow morning I am going to DO IT!! Excited YaY 😁
Hi Julie hope you're okay?
Obrigada por este vídeo! Na minha adolescência eu fazia estes exercícios com regularidade. Tinha cassetes VHS deste Worhout e outros dela! ❤ Vou voltar a fazer.🎉
Never gets old. My grandma used to do this and I joined her when I was little. Wonderful for everyone!
Jane is nothing short of ICONIC. This his holds up really well in terms of the quality and diversity of the production! I’m so impressed.
And also, she's a traitor to her country.
@stayinalive7546 She protested against the Vietnam war and got lots of hate for it. All the Vietnam vets I know also were against the war and agreed with her principles, even if they didn’t always like how she went about it. But lots of people (many whom didn’t actually go fight in the war and were happy to “support” soldiers by justifying the conflict) still hate her for it 🤷♀️
@@2ManyNamesTakengrow up.
@@2ManyNamesTaken jesus Christ, grow up and move on. She was a dumb kid and apologized 100 times. Get over it.
@@Kinesiology411 Brilliant retort. It's very telling of your character that you don't mind defending a traitor.
Jane was my favorite then and she’s still my favorite! I love her aerobics and could binge watch Grace and Frankie on repeat❤
Never leaving ❤️
agreed!!!!
honestly I have been searching high and low for something that will give me cardio and not hurt my back. Jane Fonda was the help I needed!
Jane Fondas workouts are THE BEST! These workout videos of Jane's stand the TEST of TIME. Really Good! I love them, and used them in my life. Was really effective and fun. I Love Jane Fondas Workouts & remember the Valerie Bertinelli look-alike there! 👍
My mom would do this workout in the 80's and 90's. I would workout with her. This brings back so many memories 😢
I had this video in the 90s.Loved it! I'm glad to see it here!
This is nostalgia. I ran home after work because they were showing aerobics with Jane Fonda on TV.. In Russia at that time it was the first aerobics I had ever seen in my life.. I have lived in another country for a long time, but I still remember the feeling of festive Shock from these shows ..
The coordinating leg warmers! 😊
My jaw dropped when I saw this video was on RUclips! Thank you!
Thank you sooo much for share more Jane Fonda videos! I love Jane Fonda and you dont know how all this exercises can Help me, Thank You.
The 80s was the bomb!!!
Love everything about this video!!!!
The movie "The Substance" took me here 💕
this workout reminds me a lot of my floor ballet training I used to do in my ballet school, because it combines strength moves and stretching during exercise, this makes your body strong and lean, without building bulky muscles.. perfect for women . love it.
It was all inspired by dance classes and exercise classes for dancers. 😊
Same with Pilates.
My mom had this on VHS. Brings back nice memories, as I used to exercise along with her.
Her step classes are equally as good - I became hooked on step after these
They were/are a good intro. For really intense, health-club level classes at home, Cathe Friedrich's step classes are incredible.
@EnergeticMagick they are awesome, got her DVDs a couple of years ago when I gave the gym scene - got my own equipment & haven't looked back
@@DebraRiddle-bt6vs I third that, lol. I used to love step classes at my old club, and Cathe has so many that are just as tough, and some that are even more challenging.
They are tough classes - glad I'm on my own so that no one sees me bomb out early 🙃
@@EnergeticMagickHave you tried Amy Bento yet? She's my favorite.
Omg, I remember doing this with my mom back in the 90s 😅 so nostalgic! Thanks so much for posting🙏🏽
Same!!! Early 2000s tho, brings back so many memories. The nostalgia
@@quantumwasabi me too but not with my mum
I want more Leotards and plus I'm a man and I look 23..! :D
90s? This is 80s...
Omg, I loved these videos 🤣🤣 I remember I did this video and her step aerobics one and lost 50 pounds I would do them everyday. 🤣🤣 that’s was 22 years ago😳
Never too late to do them again.
Hello Anna how are you doing hope you’re having a great time with your family may God bless you and your family
Is the step one out there somewhere? I loved that one!
@@saltcitysunshineThe step one is on RUclips.
YAY!!! I am doing this one tomorrow. The gyms around here dont offer fun energy dance workouts around here.
I love her singing too!!
That's so wonderful to hear. I did this daily in high school back then as well, then taught this class at school. Amazing workout, I'm loving doing it again now, at 52.
Hope it helps with balance, I have ok balance but I can always try and improve!
@@astraworthington4348 This workout is mostly cardio, resistance and coordination. I believe yoga and pilates are ideal for practicing balance.
@@catherineshaw1122 Hats off to you!
Thank you so much for posting this. This is the best workout of all time. And thank you Jane Fonda and Leslie Lillian!💕
My name is Rob. But I have a fetish for Leotards and I think I look hot in them depending on the time in a
place👨🩱
I do the aerobic warm-up no impact and it works just fine. You also can do more squat-like motions and leg extensions type movements instead of jumping up and down. Deffo get some good shoes and do it preferably on a wooden floor.
I tried this without shoes also, and I got shin splint. the worst pain. always wear supportive shoes :)
I am doing it barefoot, it really worked your entire foot like nothing else. It takes some time to be able to it. It’s amazing how they do jumping without getting any rest and also singing 😅
This brings so many memories. I had exactly these two on a VHS. Thanks a million for this upload.
I was 17 at that time and taught this workout at a nation wide fitness center called Vic Tammy’s, my classes were packed every day. Awesome!
I taught this class at 17-18 as well! I still know it by heart in my 50s, great workout. So effective and a lot of fun.
Ciao, ho scoperto i tuoi allenamenti da circa 15 giorni..fatti veramente bene!
Sono arrivata in fondo a questo ..grazie per questi video😊
omgggggggg this is SO nostalgic for me! My mom had this on VHS, and I use to workout to it everyday when I was like 7. I thought they were dancing lol had no idea I was exercising. HA! I've always played a sport, worked out, and lived an active life since then. I feel so much joy watching this hahaha
Old gold. Jane Fonda changed us all. And she’s still going!
I used to have this on video in the eighties, did it every other day, kept me really fit, best exercise program ever, loved it, gonna start it again .
I did this 5 days a week as a teenager. Her workouts are why I have a 35 year career in fitness. 😊
I love using these for quick exercise breaks throughout the day. I do one or two sections on their own. Keeps my energy up all day.
J’ai commencé ces cours en 1990, toujours fidèle depuis ! Aucune équivalence dans tout ce qu’on peut voir car cours complet ❤
This what parents should do with their kids on the weekends. Exercising is important! We walked so at least we did something.
Hi Becky hope you're okay?
Until this day . Best workouts ever bravo 👏🏼 Jane bravo 👏🏼
“Brava” for a woman 😊
It’s a forever love since 1974… thank you Jane I’ve all your DVD’s… fortunately until now it’s still possible to use them! ❤❤❤
why? they sell DVD players. Mine has worked for about 20 years.
I remember doing this in 1990. It didn’t take long to get in shape! Easing back into it now!
Thanks 🙏 you just motivated me , just founded it today !
Ejercicios divertidos. Gracias 😊
It was so American with their whooping and cheering (so very un English LOL)
I love this workout video, brings back some great memories of my time living in the U.S when i was young and fit 😅
Oh my God I love this! I had these workouts on VHS and did them obsessively.
🎉did the full workout absolutely amazing felt the burn sooo much and was so fun working out with everyone kept me motivated!
I did thus workout when i was 16 in the 90's. Wow brings back so many memories. Love Jane fonda
Amazing as always ❤️
Make some more of these videos. You are an inspiration. God bless you 🙏. A huge hug 🫂 from Dallas.
Ohhh bring this stuff back please. Outfits and all!❤❤❤❤❤
I used to teach this class and had 4 of her outfits, they were fabulous!
Yep, belted leotards and all!!!
The best workouts ever- so thorough and never skimped on stretching either.
I remember my Mom doing this workout when I was in high school. I thought it was so funny!
I'm 53 now, and I never go to the gym. I only use workouts on my DVD player.
I guess my Mom had a bigger influence on me than I thought!!
Thanks Mom¡ ❤
Thank you so much for this video - I did this very one avidly in the 80's. Can't wait to try it now in my 60's for a change from the gym. 😊
Have you done it? I can’t wait to do it myself.
OMG, I am so excited to come across this by accident. I used to cooy my Mum doing this on VHS in the early 90s.
I absolutely loved it as a child. I can't wait to try this out again 😂
I'm 48 and my mom and I did this all the time! Also the low impact aerobics too.
That’s true, everyone was pre-Botox & filler & looked good.
Yes so refreshing to see real bodies
Thank you for uploading!
I am eternally grateful to Jane Fonda .Thank you God for your beautiful creation
Thank you for this upload and fundraiser! Much appreciated.
Hi Joanna hope you're okay?
I used to absolutely LOVE doing the Jane Fonda workouts when I was 16 onwards 💖💖💖
I remember seeing these as a kid. The craze even got my mom to start going to the exercise classes for ladies. She really liked it.
There's a reason these were such a hit. They're a lot of fun and they are very effective. Your mom knew it. ;)
I did this in 1986 when i was 20! Watching this now really takes me back!
My mom did this all the time! Oh the memories are flooding back!
OMG this gonna be so cool now on our 60 inch tv screen! In the 90’s we had a normal sized tv 📺 like everyone else mostly had😁
I'm not a big fan of huge tvs but I'll admit I'm a bit jealous, lol. That would be a blast.
I think our big living room TV back then was 24 inches, lol. And it seemed huge! 😂
@@katashley1031The t.v.s back in the day weighed a ton lol.
You could do the arms seated, the floor stretch and floor work, with some modifications. Just skip the aerobics. 😊
I did this video so much , i know every song, every cue...all the exercises still good 4 today...
This is amazing I’ve been doing the beginners one everyday thanks for sharing this!
You did everyday one hour and a half?
No until 34. After 34.04 Advanced.
@@edithdiangelo oh yes I saw it later that the video is splitted into Beginners and Advanced.
Me encanto la clase muchas gracias❤❤❤❤
I am a 90s gal and this was my cardio. I love and miss these days when cardio with Jane was fun.
