Its better to know what we want without go through the 100's of article pages. I have few question. How about the values of the X and Y capacitor in an EMI filter. Is it higher the (X capacitor) better? As I know to my knowledge higher the X capacitor is better if the cost & size permits in a design. Is it right? For Y capacitors the capacitance value limited by the leakage current to the earth terminal. Higher the capacitor better in performance but higher risk for shock during the absence of proper earth connectivity. Is it right? So how much capacitance or how much current through Y capacitor is permitted in EMI filter? How to measure Y capacitor leakage current .
