Hello, welcome to the bottom of the description that honestly I doubt anyone reads. I did this build back in february as a way of celebrating my birthday. I didn’t mention this in the video due to the fact that it would severely date the build, because yes I did build this over 6 months ago. Originally I had no intention of making a video but due to the encouragement of one of my patreon members I did. I love building so much, it’s honestly one of the main creative outlets I hold on to nowadays. Basically, I’m saying thank you for letting me make this video. you might want to check out a little game called vintage story, its minecraft with more of a focus on survival so you end up homesteading and building beautiful farms. The building system offers a lot of options, since it hase a built in chisel mod basically

Such an amazing building and video.. Not gonna lie, the ending made my heart ache a bit. Maybe, in another dimension where this cottage exists, many adventurers found it as a resting place, never knowing who had built it as a clue was never left, leaving it's legacy as "The Cottage for Nobody."

Have you tried out the mod LittleTiles (apologies if you have, I'm new here)? Currently there is development for v1.20.1 but it had last been released for 1.12.2. I'm not sure how it would/will work with your choice of texture blocks though. However, it used to allow you to make custom doors, beds, chests etc actually work as the original items did and, from memory, angled roofs and fences were easier too. Its was also possible to use effects like water splashes, fireworks, light and so on in your builds.
Either way you have made an amazingly warm and cosy cottage. I want to live there as it's so fantastic and welcoming!

Vintage Story also has a "chisel and bits" mechanic built in, and the whole game has a rustic feel to it

I feel like this would look really good with the no cubes mod! It makes certain blocks curve and smooth together (grass, stone, sand, etc.) and overall makes the terrain look more natural and less blocky.
so all my life i thought shutters where a cute decoration for houses , till I made friends with a girl who lives in tornado country, apparently they prevent your windows from being destroyed

Steep rooves are also known in alpine areas of europe to have been made for the practical reason of snow falling off easilly in the winter and not breaking it. Possibly the same reason in other parts of the northern hemisphere.
