Same, I made up a band for a comic I am currently remaking, along with the game I did some years ago.. It is sci-fi fantasy, music is a theme, particularly various styles of metal and rock. One of the bands is "Symphonic Strife Metal", as it is called. The band is named "Elegant Evisceration" lol. The lead vocalist/guitarist is what's called a "Harmonic Psychic" and also has vampiric-like abilities, and uses his shadow as his secondary weapon named, Umbra who is sentient and a member of the band lol.
You may want to check out an awesome doom-metal band from the UK called My Dying Bride (they had a violinist on most of their albums going back to the early 1990s).
I have no idea why my RUclips seems hellbent on dragging me back to the days I listened mostly to visual kei, so here I am, and not disappointed in the slightest

Even after the death of Jasmine You, I will forever love Versailles. Their music, as well as their look has always been fabulous, ever since 2007. The members who regrouped as Jupiter were cool but I am very happy to see the whole gang back as Versailles. And yes, while their music would be seen as Symphonic Metal in America, they are still considered in Japan as a Visual Kai band. Just check out any of their old interviews.

I can still close my eyes and picture them standing there in front of me in their concert in Venezuela back in 2011, I love them so much still. I'm so glad they're back and I hope I can see them again someday.

You know, Kamijo doesn't look like the kind of guy you'd expect such a gorgeous, buttery baritone from. His voice took a while to grow on me, but boy has it grown.
I don't think I've ever heard him sing high though. Tenor is the second-highest voice class for males (highest is countertenor), baritone is the second lowest (lowest being bass). I mean I haven't heard their whole discography, but if Kamijo's chops transfer to the high end as well, that would classify him as a baritenor and make him a VERY talented singer. Past what's already obvious, I mean. c:
okay after researching, you're right. he's a tenor PRETENDING to be a baritone, putting more low-end in his voice on purpose to give it more weight. which is like. even better tbh (had me fooled LMAO)
I'm not surprised-in visual kei and those who were previously vkei, you've too many slender gorgeous metal vocalists who seem to possess very deep vocals. When I'm saying this I'm thinking of nightmare,gazettE, Hyde(though he was always more rock), gackt's voice can go pretty deep though not as much as kamijo's and Kyo from Dir en grey is a tenor I believe but sometimes his clean singing for some of their emotional songs make it hard to believe. And going off-topic, considering his insane range, I can't believe Corey Taylor has even a slightly wider vocal range than him.

Jupiter was made out of all 4 instrument players with a new vocal, but Masashi (Bass) and Yuki (Drums) left the band to just be in Versailles and around 1 year later now Jupiter got 2 new members called Rucy (Bass) and Daisuke (Drumms), so Hizaki (first guitar) and Teru (second guitar) are now the only ones that play in both bands... Versailles is more famouse than Jupiter, but I prefer Jupiter, not cause their music is sometimes a bit harder, what some people like, I really like Zin's voice (Vocal of Jupiter) more than the voice of Kamijo (vocal of Versailles)

I'm really sad I came across this band only now in 2023..., 15 years late! It's one of the best Symphonic Metal ever made! And I was really into it by the mid 90's ..., just during early 2000's I switched completely to other music genres...
A dude called Rebel turned me onto this band........frkn awesome Rock n' Roll! I only know English as a language, so I don't understand the lyrics, but I damn sure understand Rock.....and this band knows how to bring it! Diggin' my latest find in international Rock. A language that any musician can understand. Will definitely be listening to more by Versailles, and turning my bros onto them. \m/

This is...beautiful and magical, though that's not quite enough. A combination of visual kei (makes me think of Yohio ❤), the ball scene from Labyrinth - I can see the lead singer as Jareth - sounds reminiscent of my beloved Trans-Siberian Orchestra, beautifully elaborate costumes, awesome voices... amazing. I may be a lot older than the average viewer here, but I know good when I see & hear it. ❤
I love it when Kamijo-sama doesn't hide his beautiful eyes behind bangs/sunglasses 😍 His makeup here looks normal, if cosplay-like, compared to scary vampire-like makeup (but equally handsome/hawt).

This is...beautiful and magical, though that's not quite enough. A combination of visual kei (makes me think of Yohio ❤), the ball scene from Labyrinth - I can see the lead singer as Jareth - sounds reminiscent of my beloved Trans-Siberian Orchestra, beautifully elaborate costumes, awesome voices... amazing.
I may be a lot older than the average viewer here, but I know good when I see & hear it. ❤
