I'm definitely a big fan of critters and plants of all kinds. My addictions include reptiles, Inverts, pens, old coins and pocket knives. I understand. Great job.
glad you enjoyed it. It's an easy way for shop tanks to add extra filtration to each tank AND culture more plants for sale at the same time!!.......Win Win.
Lol. Great job Colin.. I am a cyprinid addict mainly a Barb and goldfish which makes my new addition of plants.. Great job Can't believe how thick your baskets are with plants. I really need to use fertilizer. I remember your video on getting Scott's fertilizer which I can't get here.
Great video. I am going to look into the osmocote tabs. My Java fern is taking off finally in one aquarium but you have something that magically causes them to grow like weeds.
I’m on that slippery slope of being addicted to my new fish keeping hobby. I have a tank of breeding koi guppies, along with a few other community fish. I’m also a bit addicted to buying plants and I’m actually waiting for another delivery of plants I just ordered for my second tank. My second tank is going to be for shrimp, but I need to let it cycle for a month or two first. My biggest issue is space, which is probably a good thing, I literally have no space for a third tank, as much as I want one. My brother just re-started the hobby too, after about a 30 year break. He started when I did, but he’s already up to 5 tanks! He’s also a boomer, and had to learn that under gravel filters are a thing of the past, so I have been teasing him a bit about that 😂
Hi Melody, These plastic plant trays from Bunnings have mesh holes on the bottom, I put a piece of fiberglass flyscreen mesh along the bottom to stop any media from falling through. I filled the tray with 100% Seachem de*nitrate media, and sat the plants on top. I drilled 2 holes in the backside of the tray, used 2 zip-ties to make a loop, and they hang over the plastic clips you can see in the video on the rear tank glass. Super simple :)
It's a plant seedling tray I bought from Bunnings and cut into 3 pieces, I used the 2 outside pieces with side walls, overlapped them to bring them together as a narrow tray, and used zip ties to hold it together. This size and shape now fits easily inside my tank :)

The plant basket is looking awesome. No wonder you are addicted. Can't go wrong with the Osmocote! Very cool
No aquascaping in the slightest, but as a farmer my crop is showing good yields 😁😉
The first step to beating an addiction, is to admit you have a problem! The Java fern I purchased from you is going great Colin.
I've come out buddy..........I have a Problem......LOL :)
Hey Gil........Huge Congratulations on passing the first Big 1K milestone, only 99K to go until you can hang up the steering wheel :)
Thanks Colin Although I do it for love, not money, just like driving trucks... If you believe that, you'll believe anything!

I'm here for the AA meeting hahaha. We are here to support you man. You're doing great! Haha
You have to check out Joanne @thesmallscape she has classic AA (Anubias addiction)
She is just bursting with personality 🫠
AA stands for aquariums anonymous?
Lovely tank. Like corals plants are indeed as important as the fish. Cheers from my channel in Chicago!
Australia is blessed with lots of corals, but could use a lot more trees, thanks for watching :)
Totally get you mate. The plants can be as interesting and captivating as anything else we keep in our tanks for sure.
Very true :)
great video
glad you enjoyed it.

Always great to hear from you buddy 😊👍🏻
Finally, I found someone who pronounce 'Cryptocoryne' the same way I do! 😉
Those plants look amazing. 😊
Hey there Gaina, I admit that crypto"corn" has always been my pronunciation, but that crypto "cor rhy nee" is probably the right way.......LOL :)

Hi mate, wondering if you could tell me what you are using for the baskets and how they are attached. Cheers from the Gold Coast QLD.

is the plant basket just from a nursery?
