Ah, the old 'you can't fire me I quit'
In case everyone was wondering why the United States doesn’t officially recognize the ICC… it’s cause of this right here.
We will gladly “coperate” with it when it’s geopolitically convenient, but when one of our allies gets accused of the same thing that our adversary is getting accused of suddenly we intervene
More like their own politicians might be held accountable if they recognised the ICC. No top officials faced any accountability for the invasion and occupation of Iraq
They also don't want to see their own prosecuted there either. They see themselves above the law.
Yup... at the absolute bare minimum, Douglas MacArthur and Curtis LeMay would be up there.
And ISR too. They both know their nature.
Exactly, we knew that ******* countries like South Africa would play politics with the ICC and attempt to undermine our sovereignty. It turns out we were right.
So many people think that the right to defend yourself means that the side that is attacked is allowed to commit war crimes. That's not how the law works!
Can you explain how the law works to the people defending a group that likes to kidnap babies? And shoots up music festivals?
Or can you explain how the law works when one group of people make laws prompting literal terrorist attacks on civilians?
bro is cooked if he leaves israel
Turkey and Egypt would probably block their airspace of Israeli aircraft. Yes they’re relatively friendly, but it’s not out of the realm of possibility.
@@christianbolisca1493
Or they wouldn't knowing the risks Netanyahu faces.
He’s fine if he comes to the US. The ICC doesn’t have jurisdiction here.
@@christianbolisca1493I’m not so sure, the arrest warrant would be against government officials, not random Israelis trying to leave Israel. But what do I know?
was putin cooked?
No one is saying Israel can't defend itself, everyone is saying you can't deprive citizens of food and medicine.
But if 2 million civilians didn't have food wouldn't they just perish?
@@PizeFish They have some food, but barely enough. And yes, a lot of people are dying.
Even if he doesnt get arrested, inconveniencing him is good
Good. Netanyahu is a heavy-handed monster.
Honestly man… I’ve tried for months, but It’s beyond explanation that you/so many western people lose the extremely dangerous terrorist axis “forest” for the imperfect democratic military trying to wage an almost impossible war of self defense that’s never been attempted before “trees”. Millions of people have been more upset about isreali killing less than 10 aid workers than you are about Hamas killing over 1000 isrealis in their homes and communities with zero military aim. How do you do it man, how does your brain bend like that… I’m not defending anything, I’m just saying, when you have a building on fire threatening to kill hundreds but you focus all of your attention on the firefighter who wrongfully shoved someone out of the way trying to escape the blaze it says something about your bias and priorities…
"Don't shoot at people trying to deliver humanitarian aid."
"How dare you say I can't defend myself from terrorists?"
Maybe we should be questioning why people are supplying humanitarian aid to terrorists
I wouldn't exactly call the billions of dollars in US millatry aid and tons of bombs "humanitarian aid" but yeah 100% we shouldn't give more to the IOF
@@calebbearup4282We would if it was happening. It's not. Humanitarian aid is being supplied to civilians. Please don't post lies.

This is also the case with Putin with the war in ukraine.
The hundreds of thousands of Israeli protesters will make him leave
True but it cloud push countries like germany to finaly pressure israel to stop commiting war crimes.
Sadly Israel will never be punished for what it's doing
While this Israeli government is horrible, you can’t suggest the whole nation get punished in good faith. That would be treating them the way they are treating Gaza and at the certain point someone has to begin the process of forgiveness and progression. Again, this government should be held to account, but not a nation of civilians.

Now it’s time for Netanyahu and Hamas to get the Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette treatment!
Instead of saying HAMAS,You should have said yahya sinwar.
Things in gaza were insufferable because of israeli siege for 16 years (limited food, water and electricity, frequent bombing, poverty and unemployment, and dense population) , these events led to Oct.7, the problem is to end occupation and UN Resolution 194.

No where in any of my statements have i mentioned any religion or made reference to any religious group.
Maybe you are the racist, trying to incite anger by using religion as a weapon??? 🤔🤔🤔
While everyone is understandably going after Israel with the ICC news, with Hamas also getting looked at for warrants and Palestine an ICC member I wonder if they will follow through on Hamas warrants? I doubtful but mostly due to logistics but I do wonder if Fatah will use the warrants as a convenient way to get rid of a thorn in their side.
Israel has a criminal record at the UN every year, but no media outlet casts this.
US and ISR didn't sign the Rome Declaration (was it?) for a reason.
Yeah but the US did create it 😂
India, Pakistan and Turkey also didnt sign as well
@@matthewmiller6568reminds ms of the League of Nations
@@cgt3704 true that. But every time these kinds of organizations fail they end in either a world war or a partial world war.
There is strong constitution reasoning that a treaty can't violate a part of the constitution. The ICC would side step the courts because they would not control the preceding's and American law wouldn't be the thing being enforced. In the 1990's, legal experts said joining the ICC in full would probably violate the State sovereignty amendment. So likely the US would need to amend that part of the constitution in order to join in full.
May I suggest that when you show maps like the one showing the ICC members, that you key all the colours, not just the one being spoken about. Makes it easy for those who like to freeze-frame.

Doubt it
Lock 🔐 Netanyahu up !!!!
It is unlikely that the International Criminal Court (ICC) will issue an arrest warrant for any high-ranking Israeli officials as long as Israel maintains close relations with Western countries. Even if such a warrant were issued, it would probably be for a lower-ranking military individual rather than the head of state. Should an arrest warrant be issued against them, Western countries might ignore or oppose it. As for the USA and the Russian Federation, the USA has stated they will follow ICC rulings, including potential actions against the head of state of Israel.
Fun fact: Contrary to taking children away from the frontlines to a safe zone, there is a perception that Western countries condone harming children or causing them disabilities.
"Western countries Condone harming choldren" now what if I told you there Is a group of people that are aligned to the east that likes to kidnap babies? Also you might want to double check your sources the US does not recognize the icc and lawmakers have said if it moves against Isreal they will sanction the icc
If there's any justice in the world, he will.
So no, he will not. ✌️
Well the Hamas leader are free, so no, there is not.
@@olafsigursons why not both?
Why did Bashar al-Assad did not receive an international arrest warrant?
He is anti-western and governing international bodies have been filled with self-hating western-apologist
Because the US can't use the ICC since they're not part of it, so they can't provide evidence as a prosecutor. They'd need to get someone else, and the hypocrisy would stink.
Because his crimes have taken place only in his own country which isn’t an ICC party, whereas Palestine is a party to the ICC.
It would require a UNSC referral to prosecute crimes committed in a country that isn’t part of the ICC. And Russia and China have always vetoed such a referral.

Maybe with Netanyahu arrested and out of the way then serious steps can be made in really cracking down on terrorism in Gaza
Netanyahu is the cause of terrorism in gaza
If Scotland head to early elections, does that mean they don't have to vote in a General election?
that’s not what that means, they will still participate in the general election
Bruh istg, if they comically take the arrest warrants to voting. US is gonna VETO the hell out of it. Also, 7 months late but at least we're here.
They don't. It's issued by a panel of judges. The US government has no involvement.
They can’t veto it. The US isn’t in the ICC and even if they could the ICC doesn’t allow veto
The US is not part of the ICC and wields little influence on these matters.

If Netanyahu doesn’t get arrested, n somehow Putin does. Literally how is standards not pick n choose for certain countries based off global current reputation.

How can ICC issue a arrest for leaders in the ICJ case THAT DIDNT EVEN CALL FOR A CEASEFIRE
Because the ICC prosecutes war crimes. And they’ve found war crimes have been committed.
And the ICC is separate from the ICJ
The ICC and ICJ aren’t the same.
2:09 That quote needs a little fixing: "There is nothing more twisted than trying to commit genocide against a civilian population in the name of self-defense."
How have they not already issued warrants for Hamas leaders?!

Because Israel and the US prevent Palestine from being recognized as a state, (country if you're American) Hamas doesn't work under the same rules as Israel. The work under the same rules as La Resistancè did, those of occupied people's. Those rules are almost non-existent, barring the use of nuclear, chemical, and biological weapons as well as a handful of specifics, like prohibition on targeting marked and unarmed medical and aid workers. Kidnapping and even killing civilians is legally protected action for occupied people's, and that's why Hamas does it, if Israel wants an even playing field they need to allow the 2 State Solution that Hamas' charter has openly supported since they came to power back in '06. But Israel doesn't want to have defined borders

So, the ICC didn't issue war crimes or genocide or anything against Israel, but will against Netanyahu? That sound stupid...
The investigation is still ongoing
The ICC indicts individuals. Not countries as a whole.
The ICJ rules on countries. But not individuals.
The ICC and ICJ are also entirely separate
Jurisdiction use to be much more practical. If you lack the ability to enforce your will, even if it is marginal, in an area, you lack jurisdiction.
So they shouldn’t have incited Putin?
If it’s in the territory of an ICC member (like Palestine) the ICC has jurisdiction. Simple as that
Hamas has acknowledged it was behind Oct 7 attack. We have video as well. Why isn’t there an arrest warrant already out for all Hamas officials?
israel has been doing this for decades, yet you still scream the most moral army.
@laithmughrabi8990 ah so jews did something so we ignore kidnapping babies? Is this those religious Muslim values I hear so much about?
Pure Evil ngl
The ICC issuing arrest warrants for Israeli officials but not Hamas leaders sounds like one of those "worst move possible" ideas. Maybe if they issue warrants for both sides at exactly the same time it can work, but even then it would be tricky.
Did you not watch the first minute of the video?
@@burningphoenix6679 It said that they were "considering" issuing warrants for Hamas leaders as well, not that it would be a certainty. My point is that if they decide to issue warrants, in the end, they should do it for officials on both sides, not just Israel, and send them out simultaneously. Otherwise the Israelis will just tell them to go to hell and that will be the end of it for the foreseeable future, which may not bode well.

You'd think that the ICC wouldn't want to obliterate its credibility like that. Seems rather shortsighted
It would improve its credibility. Not doing so would prove Russia right that it’s only a tool of the US.
It would increase its credibility by proving it isn’t a U.S. puppet.
Netanyahu is not my favorite person, however I find issue with the World Court arresting any head of state for fighting back against terrorists. If Netanyahu gets arrested what's to stop the World Court to arrest any head of state merely because it doesn't like how country conducts its own domestic affairs?
This is a dangerous precedent.
They walled in Palestinians into Gaza, bombed or confiscated their natural resources, put them under heavy sanctions. Then they literally sent suitcases of money to Hamas, so the people would go to them for support and Israel could have an enemy the international community wouldn't have empathy for. In the west bank people are less violent, but they are humiliated and degraded under apartheid. They ignored warning Hamas was going to attack on Oct 7, and they didn't guard their prison city. Was it a prison break, terrorists, or freedom fighters? Either way they are blowing up and starving out 500,000 people, mostly children to make themselves feel better. So don't do that and other world leaders will be fine.
I don't think anyone will miss a corrupt politician, currently investigated with at least three cases and counting, and ordering slaughter of children and illegally annexing land from a neighbor. Most Israelis wouldn't mind if he got arrested.
Yes, I fully agree. It is dangerous.
Well ,if those domestic affairs mean a genocide shouldn't the rest of the world intervene ? After all ,it does break international law
It's far more dangerous to let any head of state commit atrocities and get away with it. "If Netanyahu gets arrested what's to stop the World Court to arrest any head of state merely because it doesn't like how country conducts its own domestic affairs?" That is a pure slippery slope fallacy.
4:13 do you know how many people got out to protest in favor of Sánchez? *12000.* Half of them came from outside Madrid. People didn't get out to protest, don't make stuff up.

It would hurt greatly the credibility of the ICC to NOT prosecute as then it would prove Russia right that it’s just a tool of the west.
