When this came out i pretty much dismissed it as another cash grab on an old IP from my childhood. Then i started seeing folls saying it waa good. Then PCG brings it, so i hunted it down. Pretty fun. A little chaotic, but fun. Gosling and Blunt had great chemistry. It made the resentment and regret believable, which anchored all the craziness and gave all purpose. I feel like I've seen the actor-stuntman relationship, elsewhere, though not "Once Upon a Time..." where it was mutually respectful. The vacuous, conceited actor and the put-upon, grounded stuntman, but i can't recall where. It feels like a trope, but i dont think it's actually that common. I've really grown to like Gosling, initially from his SNL appearances. Look up the digital short "Santa Baby" sometime. Thanks for another fun flick, Gents. Good time.
Thanks, Marc! You're so right, the older we get the more the pop-culture touchstones of our youth get mined for new entertainment opportunities. This was one of the good ones. As for another actor/stuntman thing, I'm reminded of Hooper featuring Burt Reynolds as being one of the good ones. He was doubling for Adam West and "directed" by Robert Klein, and it's even got an up-and-coming stuntman in Jan-Michael Vincent. It is a rare trope, as you say, but a trope nonetheless. I think Quentin did it the best it's ever been done. Just watched Santa Baby! Thank you for that! Dedication to the bit personified. Ryan really sells it!

Cliff Burton! 😂
Haha! I'm not quite Burton or Bust when it comes to Metallica, but except for ...And Justice for All, it's a very true statement!
