- So you just did your interview and the consular officer told you your visa was approved and you will receive it within 2 weeks. You decided to check CEAC for status updates after two days… then to your dismay the visa status update reads REFUSED!!!! Is that a panic attack coming on? I got that refused and bawled like a baby. I sent what was outstanding April 29, 2022. It said received . Still waiting to get back my passport. Thanks for the update.
It can be very disappointing and is indeed an emotional process. I hope you heard from them by now.

Hey so to anyone seeing this comment i did my interview on November 30,2022 and my visa was refused however i sent my mom marriage certificate on the same day to the email address instructed by the consular officer i think the quicker you send what was requested on the 221 g the better. My ceac status showed refused until January 4,2022 it changed to administrative processing and January 5, 2022 issued (if you are in the ir 2 category being filed for by your mom bring her marriage certificate)

Hi @plummetlove. Just want to thank you for always answering my questions and to let you know that I received my visa. I did my medical on the 1st of July, interview on the 15th and got the email on the 20th that my book was ready for pick up.

Hi @Plummerlove. I hope you are well. Hubby got his interview and medical exam done last month. We are still waiting. Last thing I know all his medical were sent to the US Embassy last week. There was no 221g form because they scheduled his medical after the interview. So he is still ‘refused’ in the system as of 26 July .I believe he is visa will be issued soon,

We had our immigration visa (F31) interview on 19th March 2024. The officer gave us a 221g slip and ticked some documents that she asked us to submit. She also ticked on the box which said to send passports via courier. After that our visa status showed refused. We submitted all the ticked documents on 15th April. Our case got updated on 23rd April but still showed refused. It got updated again on 25th April then on the 29th of April but still shows refused. Any idea why
They probably haven’t reviewed all the documents as yet. It’s still within the timeframe for review.
Hi, i had my h1b interview on 17-03-2023 at sydney embassy. Officer returned my passport and gave yellow 221g slip without asking any documents just ticked on Administrative Processing. My doubt is how much time it takes to approve , why officer returned my passport ? Could you please suggest .
What is AP?? Is it possible for the accompany to have their visa before the applicant?? The consulate said both the applicant and accompany visa was approved.. Nooo outstanding documents was requested or no forms was issued.. but when log in to check the statuses.. the applicant has Administrative processing and the accompany was issued their visa..
AP is administrative processing, it just means they are working on it.
@PlummerLove For my k1 visa st Andrews sent over my medical and then the embassy update it and it still says refused why is that?
It takes their system some time to change status. Sometimes they review documents and still didn’t update the status.

I did medical June 24th. And they sent it over July 7th. I’m issued now
Same here. But I called andrew's yesterday and they said it was sent over. So I'm waiting on some confirmation now from the US embassy.

Help here my medical was sent over last week Wednesday then it show case last update ,it’s Friday n all now it’s saying refused I did my interview April 2,2024.
When all the documents aren’t available at the time of your interview, they have to find time to go back to review the newly submitted documents, the medical in your case. This can take up to 60 days, not saying that it will take that long, but just letting you know that you don’t have to worry that anything is wrong.🤗

So I have done my medical twice in 8 months and still unable to receive my documents or passport. I have sent in all requested document and they say received, yet still nothing. Why let me redo the medical and still nothing as yet? not sure if you have an answer for that. It's really frustrating at times as I can't hear anything, and so expensive.
I feel your frustration. How long ago did you send in all the required document? It’s a bit strange that they would have your documents until your medical expired. You don’t have to answer me this, but it’s something for you to think about, is there something in your case that they could be investigating?

Hi i was approved for B1/B2 on 28th of september 2022 then 20th of october it shows refused and i have no email from the Embassy in Madrid. What could be going on because im confused.
Hey dear. I would reach out to the embassy to find out, chances are they are backed up like the other embassies, but I’m not aware of B1/B2 taking so long to process. Call them.

@Kiran Bg I call them asking for my passport and they told me..they can give it to me but the visa won't be in till they are done with the administration processing..

My little sister and I went from November 16. They wanted another affidavit and we sent it to the email the 17th. It’s almost 2 months now and both our statuses are stuck on refused and we don’t know who to call to check why the delay😭😭😭
Btw they took both our passports on the day and our cases were updated on November 22 but still refused.
Sorry to hear that my dear. There’s not much use calling them, when they get back to reviewing they will change the status and issue the visa. Just keep checking. Since it has already passed 60 days, I’d send them a follow up email.

@@USALifeDiaries apparently they didn’t get the affidavit when our lawyer sent it in so i send them and email in February asking them what the hell is going on with our passports and a lady from embassy called me saying they need the papers to move forward, i sent them again and in about a week, we were emailed to come pickup and left 3 days later🤣

Am in administrative processing from August 26th 2022 and first updated October 04th 2022 which means they're checking out..Still showing refused. They gave back my passport and told me to email additional documents which I did.. not yet any email from them and my case remains refused.
Any advice please?
Why were you given back your passport? Did you have medical outstanding?
@@plummerlove it was a B1/B2 Visa..He gave back my passport same day, Given One white form saying administrative processing which entales I should email them seven(7) pieces of information within seven (7) days..Those information is what DS-5535 form ask about.

@@myshoesarebigokay it depends. It can be a few days but can be up to 60 days depending on how often they go back to review outstanding documents.

Was pending medical status was saying refused...with a long message. The status is still saying refused but a shorter message, refer to letter received at interview. No letter was received at the interview. I feel so confused.
They didn’t give you a form (form 221G)? On that form they would have ticked whatever you had outstanding.
@@plummerlove no they didnt. They took his passport and said once medical is received, but now the status check says refuse refer to letter. I called the embassy and the person I spoke with said all updates on the status has to be on the website as they have no info, only the consular does. They also said I could email a documents section to see if there was any documents returned for me. When I did, they responded to say they were informed the passport is still processing. It's a month now and the update has not changed. It's still saying refused refer to letter.

I was refused on 23rd June.Joint sponsored submitted on 17th July 2022 last case updated on 24th August 2022 but only mine as principal applicant not mine family members.
I see that happening a lot with filing for multiple family members. Hope the others get issued soon.

I did my medical on the 10th of May 2022 and interview on the 20th of May for my immigrant Visa. I was given a 221g form which stated that I should send in outstanding documents via email which was sent the following day. My status was updated on the 24th of May but it said refused. Since then the date has been updated twice on November 6th and December 16th of 2022 and its still saying refused. I just don't know what to do anymore.
Send them an email with all the details of the case and let them know it’s been pass the 90 days wait time. I know of a person that did that recently and heard back in short order.

How many time refused under 221g?
Some persons have been waiting for quite some time, over 6 months, others waited less than a week. So I think it’s safe to say it depends.
How long it tack 221g?
Up to 3 months but many have been waiting longer.

@@AlamuFavour-pc1sd if his name is on your birth certificate, that’s what you should submit. If he was added late to your birth paper, then DNA proof is the best way to go.
