ash vs kukui is my favorite battle ever with ash vs sawyer being second then ash vs leon. ash ve leon was peak but this is peak and very personal to me. sm taught me sometimes change can be nice sometimes and nothings perfect, to be patient and if someone gives me a hard time for having a different opinion to ignore it. And i too had a bad first impression with the art style and the constant facial expresssions.

Perfect choices for a team as well! I honestly wouldn’t change a single member. Only thing I would tweak with a little bit is some of Ash’s Pokémon’s movesets. I respect the fact that you’re using moves we know Ash’s Pokémon already have, but personally, if Ash were to use these Pokémon against Professor Kukui, I bet even Ash would tweak his moveset just a little bit. -For Hawlucha, since we’ve seen it helping Buizel spar with Lucario before the Masters’ 8 tournament, it’s safe to assume Hawlucha might spar with Buizel to train. I can picture Buizel teaching Hawlucha Ice Punch 🤜🏻🧊 for Flying type coverage 🪽 while they were training. It’d come in handy against Braviary. -As for Gliscor, although I can picture Ash keeping moves like Fire Fang for Ice, Grass, and Steel type coverage, Stone Edge for addition Ice type coverage, as well as Fire and Flying coverage, I can personally see Ash teaching Gliscor Aerial Ace for Flying STAB. We know Ash loves to use Aerial Ace, and Ash teaching it to Gliscor could allow it to potentially take down Venusaur, Lucario, hit Braviary with a direct attack, or even home in close enough against said Pokémon to follow up with a direct and practically unavoidable hit with either Fire Fang to take down Venusaur and/or Lucario, and Stone Edge in close quarters of Braviary. On top of that, Ash could take a page out of Paul’s book, and teach Gliscor Guillotine ⚔️☠️ I know, that emoji got dark 😅 But unlike Paul, who’d probably lure his opponents in, letting them get close in, bringing them into his literally death trap 🪤 Ash would probably take a more offensive approach, teaching it Aerial Ace to home in close, and use Guillotine with the homing accuracy of Aerial Ace, so it’ll be practically unavoidable. But I think Ash would save that technique/combo for when he feels the time is right. But…since Ash didn’t expect Tapu Koko to come in, I imagine he may use that combo before Tapo Koko arrives. And if he does, Ash’s chances in executing Guillotine in succession have decreased. -Also, I love the addition of Ash’s Staraptor! Many would probably argue Swellow should’ve been included instead, since it has the better track record. But personally, I actually think Staraptor’s a fantastic choice to use against Kukui! Staraptor’s ability being Intimidate (at least, I think that’s Ash’s Staraptor’s ability) would come in handy, and so would Staraptor’s Close Combat 👊 Could be a great counter for Incineroar’s Darkest Lariat, and with Staraptor’s Intimidate reducing its opponent’s physical Attack, it might even deal some real strain on those arms of Incineroar’s! Even if it doesn’t take Incineroar out, Ash could always switch out Staraptor to either rest and replenish its defence from using Close Combat. Or if Staraptor had taken a fair amount of damage from using Brave Bird, Ash could potentially teach Staraptor Endeavour! Endeavour would be handy in reducing Kukui’s Pokémon’s stamina to the same amount as Staraptor’s. Although admittedly, I don’t remember if Ash has much experience with the move, or the Staraptor species using it. But I digress. Even without it, I can think of other ways Ash could utilize Staraptor’s abilities. I can even picture Staraptor clashing with Lucario, and even returning its own Aura Sphere back at it! Either with Aerial Ace against the Aura Sphere whilst homing in towards Lucario, or if Lucario uses another attack to try and counter the Aura Sphere, Ash could turn the Aerial Ace into a powerful Brave Bird for full power! A Quick Attack and Aerial Ace combo would go a long way too. Truth be told, Kukui could’ve been the perfect opponent/opportunity for Staraptor to shine against! Great video as always, and great choice of a team for Ash against Kukui! Like I said, I wouldn’t change a single Pokémon.
