Thank you so much! Trying to decide if I should do a Pros & Cons or a Day to Day Operations video. What do you think? Subscribe to be notified of the next vid 🤗
You don’t HAVE to use a dock. It depends on your riding area. If you’re on the beach, you could pull the skis up on the sand(beach them) and push people off that way. For any other set up, you’d want to have a dock to launch from for a smoother operation.
Thanks for your video! Can you do a video about where you can have a jet ski business? Public beach? Dock rental? Floating platform? What are the options?
I wish we had a template to follow when started but we literally figured it out on a wing and prayer. That’s actually a good idea for us to do. Thank you for that. I’d love to create something that helps people not make all the mistakes we did.
Hello! I just got approved for my funding and will be purchasing a 6 place trailer sometime next week! If you don’t mind me asking who do you use for insurance? I’ve already received a rough estimate from XINSURANCE anyone else you can recommend getting a quote from? Thank you for the video!!
Hi there! We highly recommend speaking with an agent that is skilled in writing marine insurance policies. We use Kelly White & Associates insurance. They have helped us tremendously. Visit their website at kwhiteinsurance.com/ Good luck!
Commercial Jetski liabilty insurance will run you about 4k per ski, per year. So if you have 4 jetskis, expect to pay $16k in coverage. It's a lot to do business sometimes.
Thank you for watching! That’s actually a whole video lol A little scary being that transparent but if it will help someone I am willing share. Thanks for the feedback.
@@Jaxjetskirentals im in mktg 113 and a Biz-Ad Major, im trying to build a biz plan for this could u plz reply with you margins of profit generally speaking, i just want to know if it's worth it really thank you
Honestly, this was a struggle for us in the beginning as well. My partners and I consider ourselves as introverts so mentally, just talking about our company was frightening. But remember, if you're not talking about your business, no one will know! We have heavily relied on word of mouth and social media ads. Also, wearing your brand is a subtle yet effective way of advertising.
@@Jaxjetskirentals thank you! Have you guys thought about partnerships with hotel or resorts by the water? I live near one and I was thinking about doing that
Hi, thanks for your question. The premium for our size operation was 20k. You may find that’s not the case for you though. It’s best to speak with an agent who specializes in marine insurance policies. We use Kelly White & Associates
After registering your business and getting the business license, you will need to have a livery permit. There are courses that can be completed online or in person in certain states. We follow FWC rules and regulations for operating. Good luck!
Hi there! Having a mobile jet ski business means you do not have a brick and mortar location. Most mobile companies launch from public boat ramps. This cuts down on overhead cost which is a huge pro. The potential downside to being mobile is 1.Securing storage for your skis and trailer 2.Having to haul your skis to different locations which adds up in fuel cost, not to mention still having to suss out fuel on the water for your skis... unless you get a gas tank installed on your truck like we did(game changer!) 3. Finding the sweet spot for the area you will service All things considered, being mobile is worth trying when starting out. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the video, any advice on the insurance companies who does this type of the coverage? And do you have an agreement form template? If so I would purchase it from you if possible, thank you!
Thank you for watching! We are with Kelly White & Associates(shout out to our agent Crystal 🤗). IMO, the most vital piece of advice I can give when searching for insurance is, get an agent who is certified in marina insurance and underwriting. Unfortunately, there aren’t many companies who will insure jet ski rentals, especially new businesses. The most popular ones who do take a chance on new businesses charge astronomical rates for minimal coverage that isn’t explained well until you attempt to make a claim(ask me how I know 😅). Obtaining the right insurance isn’t impossible, you will just need to factor that in as a large percentage of your monthly bills when planning a budget. Best of luck!
Only useful information you gave here was the insurance . How about waivers , safety course for the clients , a video on what to do in case of emergency ? This is bs
What kind of insurance do you have? And how much does it cost?
Your skin looks amazing!
Yeah what insurance agency do you suggest using? Having a hard time finding one.
Good job. I love it. What and when is the next video? 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Thanks for this video! I’m looking forward to start in Tampa Florida soon
Quick question, do you HAVE TO use a dock? Can’t your customers just get on the Jetski but the beach sand?
Thank you for watching! That’s awesome, Tampa is definitely a great area with good weather and mix of clientele throughout the year.

Thanks for the video! This is my dream business! I live in Jax, are you all a mobile business model? Or work out of one location??
You’re so welcome! What a small world 😊. You should come by and see us. We work from one location. Are thinking of being mobile?
How was marking and just getting the word out for you ? That’s probably my biggest issue (mentally)
