If you don't Follow the rules when seeking asylum you shouldn't get asylum. Those barriers aren't dangerous unless someone tries to come into the country illegally, if so that's on them. I think they should militarize the border, designate entry points and anyone trying come through illegally gets sent back immediately. There's a case in San Diego about this right now. Judge just ruled that the law Congress passed forbids limiting asylum seekers to just ports of entry. Both Trump and Biden tried to do that (in different ways), but it is literally illegal.
