The Mark 2 receiver was a better receiver than the other ones because it came with a legendary Collins filter. The Mark 3 replaced the filter with another IF stage. I own an early Mark 3 with the AM only transmitter.
Dirty Diaper 21 DX is considered outside of the Continental United States and that does not happen often on 11 meters these days.Talking a few states away is Not DX.
the way you have the speaker in the receiver to the left and the external speaker to the right what i done with mine which you probably done also if you switch to both on the speaker switch you get an expanded simulated stereo sound out of you receive
I have owned (4) of the Golden Eagle MK III’s and I must say I was not impressed with them.I have actually owned most every base radio that Browning ever built and the MK IVA is by far my Favorite and it’s why it’s now the only Browning Base that I own.It is my Favorite AM base CB but my DAK X is my Favorite SSB base CB.
I have a MK III and a MK IVA and I much prefer the MK IVA. I have owned three of the MK III SSB radios & I find them quite disappointing and overrated.
Beautiful Mark 3
I had that one. My Dad recorded CB traffic back in the 1970s in Maine. I hope I can find the tapes
I got my dad's screaming eagles basically the same set up you have put away in the original boxes with the mic and speaker.
Pops had one ,,,with a big ole MoonRacker and Monster Linear,,,neighbors hated the bleed over to their TV,,,phones,,,radios,,,etc,,,what a blast
It even has that signature tone on key up
I love the PING ... I sold my Tram years ago to buy a less powerful Mark III just to have that signature
Very nice complete mark 3 like it a lot
Nice! ...The holy grail of CB radio!
crazybobdj NOPE that would be a Golden Eagle MK IVA not a 23 Channel MK III.
Yes, the holy grail indeed.
Even the mark 4 with the “A”designation is not as good a radio as the MK3. That’s a fact
Not too hard to make a Mark 3 have 40 Channels. Just slap a VFO on it

Nice rig. Would love to have one.
Nice set up. Hope to have some DX soon.

@@1OFGODSOWN Thank you for your input, always welcome. , more radio operators should stop saying that .The Dx police may get them.

It goes well with a Phantom Linear Amplifier.. Vacuum Tube Amplifier
My Mark III was a great performer but my favorite was my Tram 201
orange70383 I have owned (3) D201 Hand Wired and a D201A and I’ll take my MK IVA any day for AM.
