First of all loved playing this today! Been waiting years to try this whole song! Secondly, I love that you included the sax solo again! Of the 4 recent Pink Floyd tracks you arranged/transcribed/transposed that were my requests, I love playing and working on all of them. I think you 100 pct or 99 pct nailed the Sax Solo on Two Suns in the Sunset. I need more time to work through the Sax solo on Shine on You Crazy Diamond but I think you got really close to that one too - and wow what a job on that full track--goosebumps everytime I begin playing that monster Opus! On Time and now Gunners Dream, it seems the Sax Solos are not stretching high or low enough on the full range of the instrument it seems. I have transcriptions of both of those Sax solos that I can send you a copy of if you like? I have no idea what the process is like to edit after the fact products and I am by no means saying there is a need to do so at all, I'm just giving you feedback that from a sax player part of the joy in those crazy solos is that they reach up into the Altissimo range where they can evoke more emotion as the sax screams up there (sometimes in better sounding ways than others haha) and if you wanted to completely recreate the feeling of playing those tracks, the sax solos are a beautiful piece of the emotion I feel. For example the Gunner's Dream Sax solo may be the most iconic one even though my favorite is probably always going to be the Two Suns in the Sunset, and the Gunner's Dream one I have that was transcribed goes up to the High E early and then peaks at the Altissimo G, both of which are screamer type notes on the Eb Alto Sax. Please don't take this comment the wrong way. Your work is incredible and I'm incredibly grateful for any and all of the amazing tracks you've made it possible for Alto Saxophone lovers to play along with. Final note completely unrelated----if I forgot to list it, I was listening to Peter Gabriel's "Secret World" concert tonight, and almost any track from that epic concert would be amazing to play too if I can still add to my massive list haha: my top choices for Peter Gabriel - In Your Eyes, Secret World, Don't Give Up, Sledgehammer, Washing of the Water, Red Rain, Shaking the Tree but there are many more of his hits I'm probably missing here that would be great choices too! I trust your taste, so you choose! 🎉❤ 🎉
Peter Gabriel - yes, I have to get that on my "to do" list! As to the sax solos, they are likely exactly what I find in a MIDI file, or what someone may have uploaded to MuseScore. There is one exception, though, and that is Two Suns in the Sunset. The music that I found had a great arrangement for the band - but it skipped the sax solo. I searched to see if anyone uploaded a PDF of just the solo and actually found it. I just re-entered those 8-10 measures or so (didn't take too long) and made one or two simple edits based on what I heard on the track. As for the range - yes, that is a bit of an issue for me. I try to keep everything below that E (three leger notes above the staff) but know I miss that every once in a while. I make the Bb below the staff the lowest, and try to make sure not to miss that (for both Bb and Eb scores). I'll endeavor to watch those high notes. I enjoy all feedback, so thank you!
Also, I think I will need to revisit "Shine" in a few years. Right now, it's too fast for me to really attempt. Need to get much more skilled at playing before I properly work on that one. Looking forward to that day though. Very cool transcription for that one! 😊
I'm slowly working my speed through scales beginning each practice session. Working at max 220 bpm right now but only up to about 200 bpm cleanly so far. I think when I can handle 230 or 240 bpm then I can revisit your Shine arrangement! :) @@CentralTendency
Are these transcriptions of solos from these songs that are more accurate? I haven't thought of a way to have communication outside of the comment section of videos which feels like 25-year old tech in a way!
as to Love Bites, it's great but I think the chorus parts in the song go an octave higher than what's being transcribed there - which is not a big deal because the notes are basically B and C which are easy to simply play an octave up to get the screamy sound I think we are hearing and that I transcribed myself when trying that song awhile back. 😅
Love love love!!! ❤❤❤

Keep at it, you might be surprised it could take a few months, not years!

I wondered about that. I am glad you were able to work it out. I always liked that the vocal blends into the sax solo at that part!.
