- I'm finaly able to jump on the Historical Disney Costume bandwagon!!!
Although not finished yet, here is part 1: The base layers of 1830's Mulan (aka Ping)
A concept long stuck in my head, is finally coming to fruition. combining the two loves in my life (Sorry Melchior) the 1830's era and Disney, or even better yet: PING!
Yes even though technically Mulan and Ping are the same person. I've always felt more drawn to Bad*ss Ping than to "princess" Mulan. Also in my world, life action Mulan doesn't exist.
Disclaimer I am of actual Asian and European decent. and am combining my two heritages into this costume.

I should make some carefully thought out insightful comment about how brilliantly you managed some amazing detail. I should. But you always are so brilliant and you always have such amazing details. I think I’m just going to say it makes me so happy and frankly thrilled to sit here and watch whatever you have on offer today. Thank you!!!
🥺😭 thank you! That means a lot!❤️
@@Leeam Ok. Using pink and green ribbons for ties. Can’t let that detail slip by. Nom nom. :)
@@nurmihusa7780 actually that is with purpose 😅 the puffs have pink ones so they won’t show through when worn with my white dress. And the green tie in the tunic are to match it’s own color palette 😅
**is fittingly late to the party but** I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS 🤩🤩🤩
🤣👌🏻❤️ Thank you!!!
so excited for this series! aaah 😍
Me too!!! 😅❤️
That looks amazing. It's going to be perfect for Ping. So glad you are feeling better. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you ☺️
What a delightful costume!
Thank you ☺️
That’s a lovely green
Thank you ☺️
The textures are so nice! It's so different from the smooth fabric one always sees in multiple videos :) Tie-in sleeve puffs are so clever - I always thought the sleeves would be stuffed inbetween layers. Now I feel silly about that, it would be really impractical xD
I love this costume idea!
Thank you ☺️
The colors of this and the textures are awesome! Really looking forward to the next video. Glad you are feeling better!
I always love how neat and precise your sewing is. It’s so satisfying
Thank you so much! I appreciate that❤️
I was transfixed by the complex simplicity (simple complexity?) of how all of this is arranged and put together, and am excited to see what goes over the base garments. I'm going to watch this more than once, pretty much immediately.
Aaaw thank you so much ☺️
Sorry to hear of your health issues. Wishing you rapid healing, and/or love, patience and support. It’s really nice to see you back and sewing!
It’s exceedingly cool how well her outfit translates to 1830’s! It looks terrific. I’m very much looking forward to seeing part 2, and seeing the costume finished. Love, light and blessings to you and yours.
Thank you for your kind words❤️ I too am looking forward to the end result 😂
You use hand basting in some really interesting ways! I've never though to baste down seam allowances like that so the garment can be fit but its such a brilliant idea
😅
Gorgeous, can’t wait to see the final result 🥰 (and once again, that colour scheme is *chef’s kiss* 💚)
Thank you my love ❤️

THE SHADE, MA’AM, THE SHADE
😂
Wow your work is impeccable 👌
Ingenious. The sage-mint green cotton or should it be eucalyptus green cotton looks good. But the leg-of-mutton sleeve pillow was needing a video and I missed your placement of the tie in the sleeve. BTW are you going to make a 1840s Raya cosplay or a Shadow and Bone cosplay. I watched this after a hard work day and found the music both soothing, Happy and toe tapping. See you in 2 weeks.
Hmm... This is kind of gross... Nikki should make what she wants to and shouldn't be confined by the limited representation in media. Please don't pigeon hole creators. Especially BIPOC creators.
It looks so pretty!
Thank you ☺️
I'm loving this!!😍😍
Thank you ☺️
I really like that tunic. Do you mind if I take inspiration from it for a character's outfit?
Off course! Be my guest ☺️
👗❤️
This is a very good base later for the costume. I REALLY look forward to my favorite bits: the armor!
Me too!! Super excited to see how the armor turns out😅
❤ love this!
Thank you ☺️
