Irene is the leader, visual, face of the group, lead rapper, vocalist and main dancer so she is the closest to him but Taeyong also produces a lot of the music and is centre as well.
It’s hard to not be selfish when you’re in such a big group but the fact that Taeyong ALWAYS puts the other 17 before himself whenever and wherever just shows how selfless he is. He’s only contempt when everyone else has or does what they want first, and that’s quite a rare thing to see in today’s society. Kudos Lee Taeyong, you’re one of the best Kpop leaders out there, hands down. 👏🏻

I'm not yet an NCT stan but I really admire Taeyong's leadership. SM may not be the best entertainment company but they have the best and polite artists in Korea. And I can see why SM chose him as the leader. If you watch all the other SM group leaders then you'll know the reason. All SM leaders does not just lead and represent their groups, but they lead and represent Korea as a whole. This is something that amazes me about SM and their artists. I also admire how he's working hard in studying english. He knows he has a responsibility to lead his members even in a foreign land. I even noticed in their recent US interviews how he's doing his best to speak in english and trying to help carry the burden of answering those english questions even though their group has 3 reliable foreign swagger members who can speak in behalf of the group. His sense of responsibility is really noticeable even in his silence. Truly an admirable kid. He deserves that leader role.

Before knowing more about NCT, I always wondered why they would choose Taeyong as the leader especially since he’s already the center/face. I thought Johnny would be more suited for the leader’s role, but now I know.... Taeyong is such a great leader T_T he isn’t only charismatic and decisive as a leader, he’s also great with ideas and communicating with the members, and he’s also caring and selfless. I’m so proud of him TT

Just went to their concert May 19. The group was introduced individually to the audience. As soon as Taeyong stepped on stage, you instantly felt that he is the leader. It is obvious how much he cares for and supports each member. He will be a director one day with SM ent. Fighting Taeyong!!! ✌️🍁🇨🇦

maybe ima add one more thing for fun. his videos are actually really great tutorials on how to lead in real life. not just compilations, even shows in general (tip: look at his eyes and gestures. you'll see how he stays aware of things). I'm very new to kpop, but even before i knew nct i've been watching taeyong's videos for a while and what he does actually works. u can easily learn more from taeyong/suho/even baekhyun and other group leaders than from books, because they're usually naturals who were appointed (aka they have the gift of leading) and also its a tutorial shown directly in front of us, no imagination needed.

Imagine thousands of people auditioning to get into SM and hundreds of trainees competing to debut. It's truly a survival of the fittest and to be able to debut out of all of the skilled trainees and become the leader of 21 (and still counting) talented members, speaks a lot of volume how capable Taeyong is. He's the center, visual, main rapper and main dancer of nct. He deserves to be the leader not only because of his looks but because of his personality too. SM knows how to pick a good leader. If you think about it, taeyong probably has one of the hardest job in Kpop. Being a leader of 7 members is already hard enough but he has 17 and more to lead. What amazes me is how organised nct is if you think about it from a perspective, they always manage to line up, be attentive, and also not get like chaotic even with a number of members present. SM has in my opinion the best leaders out there, from leading a large number of people to the obstacles the group has to face and faced already

It's like SM has some kind of model function to specifically to make leaders or something. SM leaders are the best leaders in Kpop. They have these hard to describe part of personality that comes so naturally to them as leaders. It's like you can give one scenario to all of them and they'd all give a 99.9% similar reaction to it as a leader. Maybe it's having to deal with such a company and many other hardships. It's saddening to see the burden they have to carry but at the same time if I'm proud of being a SM stan ever, one of the reasons would be the leaders from SM groups. They really are pretty amazing. And Taeyong falls effortlessly in that line.

Taeyong is one of the most aspiring leaders in kpop. Even though he is certainly extremely talented in so many different areas, he is still humble and selfless, which isn't easy at all. He is a role model not only to fans and the public, but also his fellow members, and we all look up to him for his many talents and caring personality. I can't imagine how hard it must be to be the leader and represent 17 (and counting) other people. We should truly appreciate him not only for his visuals and musical abilities, but for his personality as well.
Taeyong has the most roles in Kpop and is so capable of being a leader. People keep complaining that he’s not the perfect leader just because of how young he looks but that’s basically not a good excuse. What matters is what he’s capable of and how he manages his group.

To be the leader and mom of 17 people and more is incredibly difficult. It takes someone with patience, understanding and charisma as well to have all 17 people listen to him. He is so selfless, constantly putting the members before himself and at the same time the members respect him and trust him to follow their guidance. 우리 태용이 127 리더도 하고 2018 리더도 하느라 부담 됐을텐데 너무 잘하고 있고 태용이 넌 2018 리더 대행이고 정해진건 없다고 했지만 항상 17명 애기들 잘 돌봐주고 있다는게 이 누나는 다 느껴져 태용이는 NCT에서 센터이자 리더이자 가장 큰 중심처럼 보여서 뭔가 항상 걱정이 돼 힘들어도 말도 못하고 혼자 끙끙 앓고 견뎌내진 않는지..한 아티스트로서 태용이의 능력 재능 너무나 뛰어나기 때문에 오랫동안 보면서 부심을 느끼고 싶다 다정하고 따듯한 태용아 리더해줘서 고맙고 사랑한다💚
i'm really so thankful to taeyong. He is always so caring with his members and he is such a sweetheart, he deserves so much love. I'm very proud for being an Nctzen and i'm so happy bc of all of them♡
I am not a nct stan because they confused me with so many members and groups. But I really admired it him for taking the responsibility of leading so many people. It's not a easy task to do. And what I know he is one of the famous but he try to give the other members a Spotlight to shine.
As a gymnastic teacher of 15 eleven-year-olds going to competitions n stuff I can somehow relate to what he's doing and all I can say he's doing an outrageously fantastic job. I'm so proud of him !!!
I feel so sad for him that when NCT U debut, there were so many of rumours that he is a bad person 😢😢 maybe he feels that he must do such great job to be a better person although he doesn't have to tho !!!!! I hope he won't feel such thing and enjoy his life ☹☹ he is such a good leader but isn't this hard for him I mean NCT is just keep on growing!!!

He has been through a lot already and becoming a leader means he had to carry another huge burden on his shoulders 😢 It is hard esp now that he had to lead 17 of them (and 3 more to come), but let's just keep on showing him our love and support and protect him from malicious rumors since it's unfortunately all we can do for him. Taeyong might be fierce on stage but he's actually a softie. He really takes a good care of his members. Dealing with so many members is not easy. Plus he has to be the center / representative of NCT in many events, it's not easy as well.
